    Midwest Center for Women's Healthcare

I took some time to process my experience and after reading similar reviews feel the need to post…read moremy own. Recently at my annual appointment I was waiting to use the restroom which faces the support staff cubicles. The wait was rather long as there is only one restroom. I had the "privilege" of overhearing how they feel about their clients. "Oh, I hate the perimenopause ones- IM FAT AND HAVE SYMPTOMS BUT I DONT WANT TO GO ON MEDICATION AND GAIN MORE WEIGHT". "THE NEWBIE GYNES ARE SO CUTE WITH THEIR STIs." I was stunned. I went to the restroom, came out, and Dr. Plawyer's nurse was waiting for me. I told her of the incident and she said "I'm sorry to hear that" and then went over my med list and medical history while I'm on the verge of tears. I finally stood up and said "I'm leaving." I did receive a voicemail apologizing and saying it was addressed. However, as a nurse for the past 10 years I understand on a deeper level that the comfort they felt talking about patients at work indicates a culture of not respecting their patients. When we go to the doc we want to feel heard, be taken seriously, and be met with empathy and assistance. I no longer believe this happens at this clinic. Find a clinic that doesn't mock their patients.

Newest revelation is that Midwest Center for Women's Healthcare is like going to a gas station…read more They are not affiliated, but rather, are all independent offices. If you call the corporate office number, if you can even find it, they can't help you because they are a different office. Midwest Center means nothing other than a common name, like going to a Shell gas station, one has nothing to do with another. Took me multiple requests, over a period of more than 3 years to get my medical records transferred to my new doctor, which were finally transferred as of this year, 2025. Good Lord. What a frickin joke. Please, please, don't waste your time there. See previous review by me if you want the full story.

Old Orchard Medical Group is an old-school internal medicine practice in the best way possible. No…read moregimmicks, no fluff--just excellent, straightforward care from doctors who know what they're doing and actually listen. Their approach to medicine is refreshingly direct and grounded. You get in, get taken care of, and walk out feeling like your health actually matters--not like you've just been upsold a wellness package. The office runs efficiently, and you don't feel like just another chart in a system. Our family has had three generations go to Old Orchard, and we wouldn't trust anyone else.

I really like my doctor. Liked him especially when he was with North Shore. The were lots of perks…read morethat came with that group. For example, quick online results. Since my doctor signed onto Orchard medical group, I've been sent a handful of letters all telling me that I need to start paying $100 annually to cover, "administrative costs." here's what it doesn't cover: quick, online results; speedy responses for phone calls; efficient, timely communication with pharmacies; means of getting hold of the group other than direct phone calls. Sounds like I'm paying $100 out-of-pocket to get worse service. Needless to say, I gladly let them let go with me at the end of the year. Love my doctor, but there are lots and lots of groups that don't charge administrative costs for bad administrative services. As a matter fact, most places offer much better administrative service for nothing.
