Agree with the prior ratings: Cafeteria Roman is a hole in the wall near Cavernas del Río Camuy -- but you won't regret it if you follow the locals here. We came to wait out a surprise rainstorm and enjoyed a shockingly good meal.
Pre-made roast chickens in the window look fairly small, but our 1/2 portion of pollo asado was absolutely satifsying: moist, meaty, flavorful. A side of mofongo -- in the form of pre-fried balls -- was softer than what we are used to, but beautifully flavored with fried pork rinds. A bacalau en ensalada was awesome, so balanced and nicely dressed. My partner raved about his side of roasted / lightly fried batatas. The wonderful woman (short haired, batman-shirt-wearing) who worked the window was so patient and kind with us (and all other customers in line). No surprise that this is so popular with locals. read more
