Terrible experience. Steve Nicholas made my house buying experience a complete headache. He was NEVER available in the office. Don't believe me? Call his office right now and ask for him. You will get the usual, "He's in closing. I can send you to his voicemail." If that's not the response from his secretary, disregard my whole review.
I left numerous voicemails, and sometimes I would get a call back. Sometimes he would respond to my emails. This lack of responsiveness surprised both my realtor and the seller's team - all experienced people, who have seen their share of poor lawyers. The home buying process is time-sensitive; you have strict deadlines or the deal is jeopardized. Having an attorney not respect that is awful. He charges a low flat fee - and it's clear why.
Not only he is rarely available, but he lacked attention to detail in my home-buying process, causing significant frustration, and almost caused the purchase to fall apart. He signed off contractual elements without discussing with me or my realtor; after I became aware of it and notified Steve, he made it seem like I was being difficult. It goes without saying that this quality is NOT what you want in a lawyer.
In my opinion, Steve Nicholas/Earl Roloff was a poor choice for our real estate attorney. I rarely write scathing reviews, but this service (or lack of) deserved it. read more
