3.5 stars for Roll'n Pin Food is okay. It's not bad but if you have a sushi craving it may or may not be satisfied. If you are hungry and just want volume this spot is a good option. Service was slow. We went during dinner time and the first few dishes came one after the other. However, after we submitted our second order of ayce things slowed down. A few things, like miso soup were completely forgotten/never given. The place is clean and there's a lot of seating. Music is at a good volume. If you're used to real Korean and Japanese food don't come here with high expectations. The server was nice but it took her a long time to take our order and then an even longer time to get our food. The food is supposed to come out at the same time so both parties can eat together, but his came out first and then mine came out probably 10 minutes after. Then the other dish came out a few minutes later. Not professional. I ordered the beef Teri roll. My beef teri roll was dry. I had to sop it in soy sauce to be juicy enough to eat. The stone pot bibimbop is supposed to be hot enough to crisp up the rice. This should be called warm pot bibimbop. The edemame was good but that's not too hard to mess up. The sushi my boyfriend got was descent. Not good but just ok. He said he just wanted to eat it so he didn't waste it. It was rolled well but the fish could be fresher. I always order the bibimbap regardless of what else I am ordering. The hot sauce and a side of kimchi rounds it out. Some of the sushi items can be a little soggy but if you speak up they will either replace it or ask that you order something else. They have recently added a Chinese and sushi buffet. Well, my mind was just blown. It's attached to the side of the Colonial Inn. It looks like an old Brandon family restaurant. Walk inside though and it *is* an old Brandon family restaurant, but one with Japanese banners everywhere. They have a menu that's got a bunch of sushi stuff on it, some other Japanese items, etc., but that's not why you come here. Well, maybe it is why some people come here, but I didn't try any of that. You come here for bi bim bap. And homemade kimchi. Yes, that's right. Bi bim bap and homemade kimchi in Brandon! Crazy isn't it? And here's the thing. It's really freaking delicious. And the lady that made the kimchi? She's your server. And the small bi bim bap is only $6.95! So ignore the fact that there's a giant rolling pin on the front of the restaurant. Ignore that the bathrooms are a timewarp back to 1970. Set aside that you get a bowl of miso soup with your Korean food. Come and order the bi bim bap and kimchi and leave very, very, happy. read more

The name is a little deceiving as the menu here is all Korean and Japanese. That being said we have only had the Korean dishes and they are excellent, especially the bibimbap, which I would recommend to anyone. The choices for Asian food in Brandon is really limited, with most places offering the usual all you can eat slop, but this place offers better quality food, generous portions and reasonable prices. If you are looking for the usual chicken balls they have them and they are really good, but their forte is the stuff that you can't pronounce. If you are a Brandon native or just passing through, this place should be on your list - and try the Korean food. read more

If we could NOT award any stars we wouldn't. This place is awful. The food is so bad I wouldn't feed it to a dog. They even offered us additional teryiaki sause in a ketchup squeeze bottle that had sauce dried out and glued to the side of the bottle! High price for extremely very poor quality food which had miniscule tiny pieces of chicken, bits of raw broccoli and slivers of carrots laying in a horrible tasting sauce which was offered as chicken teryaki...pathetic and disgusting taste. read more

I won't recommend people to come to this restaurant. Take almost one hour for the food to be served. We ordered bibimbap and never have something like these anywhere. Basically only rice, few tiny slices of beef and vegetable. Very disappointed and quite pricey for such quality. read more

Stayed at this hotel this time around. ate at this restaurant. Had the bento box. edamame, tempura and dynamite roll, was hungry so ordered an additional dynamite roll. The edamame was awesome, the tempura was hot, and tasty, but the broccoli was old (limp) also these were not dynamite rolls. Amazing how things change over a couple of years. This has always been our favourite place to go for sushi in Brandon, but after tonight, we will not be going back. We received our items slowly over a span of about 30 minutes and then we waited another 45 minutes for our last item. Our waitress was so busy running around the restaurant taking orders and taking payment that she didn't have time to come back and check on us. When she finally did, she asked us what we were waiting for, and she admitted that she must have given our food to another table. We saw other tables ask repeatedly where their food was. I want to emphasize that it was not really the waitress' fault, she was very young and had to look after the entire restaurant. They must be under new management and they seem very disorganized and understaffed. Very disappointing. read more

What a treat.....an authentic Korean restaurant run by a local Korean family here in Brandon at incredible prices. Brandonites don't know what they have in their own backyard. Yes the decor is outdated but the food alone will make up for the lack of ambience. read more
