We planned to bring 20+ family members and friends for a casual pre-wedding gathering. We attempted to call several times, but the phones appeared disconnected. We also emailed in advance to give them a heads-up about our group but never received a response. Upon arrival, we were immediately told there was a $150 fee for large groups. After explaining that we didn't need reserved seating or special accommodations, management agreed to let us stay. However, while I was preparing to purchase several bottles of wine, we were asked if everyone was 21+ which I told them everybody was except two guest who were 20 but would not be drinking. They said everyone has to be 21+. This was surprising because we've previously seen children on the property and had even been told by management that bringing a toddler was allowed in a previous occasion. When I asked to speak with the manager to explain the importance of the occasion, she approached us with a dismissive and confrontational attitude, immediately repeating the policy without even greeting us. She acknowledged recognizing us as regular customers but said she couldn't bend the owner's rules. I completely respect businesses having policies, but the inconsistent information, lack of communication, and poor customer service were unacceptable. Had someone answered our calls or email, this entire situation could have been avoided. After reading some of the other reviews, it seems we're not the only customers who have experienced disappointing service here, which makes this situation even more unfortunate. Ultimately, we left without purchasing anything, and what should have been a special pre-wedding gathering was ruined. It's disappointing to see a business turn away customers who were ready to spend money and introduce over 20 new guests to their winery. Unfortunately, they've lost us as returning customers. We will not be coming back or recommending Fortunata Winery to others. Beautiful property, but hospitality and customer service leave a lot to be desired.

After waiting longer than I was willing to, I asked for a refund. Even that became another process of waiting, repeating myself, and then having to ask for a receipt. There was no apology or acknowledgment from management for the delay or inconvenience. What bothers me most is that this is not an isolated experience. I frequently feel ignored or poorly acknowledged here while watching other customers receive much smoother service. As a Black customer, the repeated pattern makes me question whether bias may be contributing to how I'm treated. At this point, the convenience is no longer worth the frustration. I won't be returning.
