You are so lucky to be set in such a beautiful little neighbourhood, so close to the industrial train lines but tucked away amongst all those cute Goodwood cottages. The cute embroidered chair cushions and large wooden tables was a nice detail you added to my lunch experience. Although your prices are a little bit more than your standard cafe, the choice you provided was great for lunch. And you must have known I'm a fan of an all day brunch too. My coffee was smooth and lunch of citrus smashed avo on rye with smoked salmon and fetta was fresh and zingy. My dining partner's pulled pork bun with potato salad looked lovely too. Thank you for friendly and speedy service. I look forward to catching up again soon. Best wishes, Chloe

Dear Daisy occupies the space left by the Leah St Deli and is right on the tram line next to the Forestville tram stop next to the hairdressers. I've popped in and out of here a number of times for coffee and have been most satisfied with smooth flat whites and spicy long blacks and am always pleased with the sparkly service and cheery staff. The menu here is catered to the breakfast/brunch crew (all day breakfast, huzzah!) but Dear Daisy is developing a great lunch menu. The selection features all your standards for brekkie and lunch has a mix of wraps and rolls as well as some great specials (pulled pork buns, zucchini fritters anyone?) and over the past week since its opened I've seen the menu change and evolve. Lunching here I had a pulled pork bun with coleslaw with potato salad on the side, the pork was soft and tender and the potato salad had pickles (yay!) with yumminess all round. Pricing is quite reasonable and on the cheap side for the Goodwood area. Really looking forward to getting round to breakfast here and with 7am opening on the weekdays, I'm thinking a post night duty pick me up breakfast treat is in order!

Only took 22 minutes for our meal (Keep in mind we ordered about half the menu, as I am trying Japanese for a trip in October 2024) at a peak time! When the food arrived, it smelled amazing! The food was properly cooked, smelled and tasted AMAZING (and it was not expired). The noise was calm and peaceful, everyone was quiet. The little girl that I think is one of the staff members daughter was amazing, polite, helpful and overall amazing. She would make a good manager in the future. Everyone who sees these bad reviews, I have busted them for the sole purpose of enjoyment, and I recommend going if you are considering it!

Ah ha! Japanese, oh yes the only cuisine that shall not only satisfy, but also work well with the heat. There were smashing reviews of EN Izakaya Japanese Bar & Restaurant. So I could not say no. The front of the store is a little misleading, because when you step through it is a really lovely designed restaurant. What I love about Japanese restaurants and cuisine is the attention to detail and great customer services. EN Japanese have laid out the restaurant in a wonderful way sectioning off an area for groups and an intimate back bar section. Oh, and what a bar! The bar top is one long single cut slice of red gum. So gorgeous! Also, to my surprise it features some acrylic resin in a hole in the wood with opals and rocks set into it. Again, there is your attention to detail. The menu is expensive, many options inclusive of traditional Japanese dishes and modern twists. But, I knew what I wanted before I even walked through the doors. Sashimi and seaweed salad with ice cold green tea. And like any good Japanese restaurant, it was on the menu and very affordable. My dishes presentation was beautiful. Wasabi was high quality and placed carefully on top of a leaf. All seafood was brilliantly fresh and cut in well measured slices. The seaweed salad was also fresh and well portioned. As for the staff, well I was very fortunate enough to have a chat to he chef and was looked after very well by the waiter. They both were super friendly and happy to talk about their restaurant. Lovely experience just for a quick lunch. I will be back with others!

I think what really captures me is when you meet a owner that is just so passionate about what they do. There is so much thought, attention to detail and expertise here. From cooking methods to their business style. It just reflects how cool they are as individuals, and something I really want to support and share. Oh yeah, their food is beyond good as well! After counting down the hours until this restaurant opened it's doors, we finally made it inside the restaurant. It's dark, comfy and just so much fun! There are all sorts of cool critters and artistic elements. Just go see it for yourself. I should point out, it features some booths too, so great for groups. I had the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich. Oh yeah baby! Crispy, tasty, juicy chicken which is cut through with come fresh slaw. You can order this with fries on the side, but we opted for cheesy fries! So glad we did! These fries were covered in home made cheese sauce and crumbled cheesy bits, I kind of just wanted to put my face into the bowl and chew. Oh, I also had a bite or two of the Cheese Steak Philly. Well, well, well... God in sandwich form? But beware, this is a hefty meal. Be prepared to feel overwhelmed with amazing flavour and cheesy goodness. It is definitely not for the faint hearted or those watching the their waistline. It is amazing though and I really do recommend trying it. Ok, so let's just say this, get down there now before you have to wait in a line. This place is going get popular real fast. Bring your friends, family and neighbours. Overall food was excellent and good value, both food and beverage wise. There were 5 of us and we shared 5 dishes with steam rice, we could have done with just 4 dishes as the serves were generous. My favourite was mossaman beef, the meat just fell apart as you bite into it and the flavour, it was all there with the right heat, such comforting dish. Potatoes bulk the bowl up but was good accompaniment. Green curry chicken, the bowl was full to the bream with breast meat, still tender and not dry, not much kick for an Asian palate but suffice. The Choo chi vegetable was my next fav, nice milky sauce and plenty of it, variety of vegetables and tofu. Would have satisfied a vegetarian. The sweet pork dish was so so and would have kept a novice happy, once again the serve was generous Pad Thai would normally indicates how good a Thai restaurant is by this dish, but we have been spoilt with good 'pad Thais' out there and this would be 5/10 from me. So surprising as other dishes were great. We finished with 2 serves of steamed banana sticky rice with mango ice cream to share amongst us, we could have done without but it was a nice finish to the meal. I didn't see the menu and let the others did the ordering, with a bottle of wine and 2 beers, it was well less than $30 per head with a bit of tips. Staff were friendly enough for a busy Friday night and there were early diners. There were 2 dinning areas and a 'sitting - waiting' area at the reception area There are plenty of outside seatings when weather permits, and limited car parks at rear. They didn't mind us leaving our cars there when we went to the movies after dinner, very convenient indeed.

First impression of this place doesn't really make for a lasting one due to its outdated interior and fittings. There is little ambience, saved by the warm lighting. It is a very 'typical' Chinese restaurant with tacky decorations and scattered Chinese ornaments / pictures which doesn't flow well throughout the space. Interior aside, lets talk food. It is the primary reason for our repeated return. We come here for the seafood with the cheesy lobster dish being a favourite of ours. However, market price for lobster at the moment is around $170 per kg, so we gave that a miss tonight. Service is slow, so, if you can order well in advance, you should, especially for takeaways and traditional, highly prized dishes such as lobster, king crabs, mud crabs, Peking duck and drunken chicken. Tonight, we had the salt and pepper prawns (shell optional - why? who wants to eat the shell?), fried barramundi, Peking ribs, salted fish fried rice, chicken and jellyfish, pork belly in Dong-Po sauce, prawn balls with greens, seafood noodles and hot and sour soup as starters. Everything was lovely, wasn't a big fan of the ribs, because I found the sauce too heavy in sourness. Barramundi wasn't as well seasoned as it could be. Other than that, it was great! Everyone enjoyed the shared meals and pretty much rolled out of there. The place might be outdated, but the consistency of the food is why we return year after year. Price wise, I think it is very reasonable given the area it is located in. Highly recommended.
