Also tried a spoonful of the matcha ice cream--1 scoop is quite generous here. It was good but unremarkable. It was good - I chose the "Paradise" - pineapple, mango, banana, coconut - maybe it was too sweet and therefore the wrong choice for me. I can accept that and that's on me. The first time I ever went I actually got my spouse to go inside while I waited outside with our dog... until one of the employees came out and told us that they were DOG FRIENDLY and would love to give our pup some ice cream! That experience alone left a huge impression on me. I am so excited to see something like this open in London! Perfect place to grab a quick dessert with friends after work/dinner. There's a really nice minimalist aesthetic inside and the owner was very friendly and attentive. There's also a good variety of flavours to choose from and a choice of frozen yogurt or ice cream. Rolled up ice cream is made colder, isn't as sweet as regular ice cream and overall a lighter dessert. I definitely recommend popping by to try this place but it's fairly new so the wait is quite long. A small cup with about 5-6 rolls was $5 +tax The cookie mash flavour was a great blend of chocolate and oreo, the Vietnamese koffee flavour is very strong so beware, and the avocado flavour is light and tastes fresh, in my opinion a weird ice cream flavour but great for avocado crazies out there! read more

A few friends and I stumbled upon Roli Poli after strolling downtown after lunch. The place was completely empty at 2pm on Saturday, so we got to order and eat right away. We placed our order, and I got a small Banana Split rolled ice cream. It's super cool how you get to watch the employee roll and make the ice cream right in front of you! The ice cream tastes incredibly fresh, and I love the concept of rolled ice cream. It's actually quite different from regular ice cream. The ice cream is less rich than regular ones, but I prefer it that way. But I must say how I didn't really like how my Banana Split tasted more like strawberries than banana. The price is a little over $7 (after tax) for a small, but the small is quite large in size! There's room in the shop to sit down and eat. The decor around the store is really cute and simple. This is by far my most favourite ice cream, ever. I usually get the Monkey Biz - nutella, bananas, and chocolate sauce - and enjoy every single bit to the MAX. This time, I tried the taco cone and it was super delicious and fresh as well. The only reason I've given it a 4/5 instead of a perfect score is that in the three times I've visited, it has always taken upwards of 45 mins to get the ice cream. This past Sunday, April 7th, was particularly bad. The store opened at 2pm, and we were the third guests in line. There were only two workers present, and one of them was clearly in training. The girl who was helping everyone was delightful and super efficient, but it still took our party an entire hour to get served. You'd just expect a few more bodies working on a Sunday - especially the first warm (18 degrees C) day of the year! Regardless of that, I will still be returning because the service is always extremely pleasant and like I said - the ice cream is unreal! read more

A fantastic and unique ice cream experience - as long as you know what to expect. I walked by this place a bunch of times on Richmond Street and wondered what was going on inside, as there were usually lineups there. Finally on a sunny day there happened to be no line up so I popped in - and I'm glad I did! I had no idea what rolled ice cream was, and I was treated to an education. The fresh cream is poured onto cold trays, and fresh ingredients are added and crushed/diced into the mixture as it freezes. The whole thing is then spread into a sheet form, allowed to fully freeze, and then scraped off of the tray to form the rolls. It was cool to watch. I got the 3rd Wheel, which was a mixture of Wagon Wheels, marshmallows, and caramel. Delicious! First time visiting Roli Poli and I was not disappointed. Their technique of making rolled ice cream was done with such finesse. I chose to try the Cookie Smash Up. The end result was tasty and photo worthy. I found the establishment's decor very bright and simplistic. The staff was friendly and prompt with service. There is a counter where you can watch how the rolled ice cream is made right after you order. A good video opportunity and there are a couple of spots for great IG worthy photos. They had a decent amount of variety of flavours for a selection. They had some ready to go ice cream as well in a freezer if you're on the run. This is the first Thai ice cream I've tried in Canada - I discovered it a while back while visiting NYC, so I was pretty excited to try it again. I had the Key Lime which is my usual flavour go to. You don't really get a choice of the mix ins which is unfortunate, but not the biggest deal. I did find it to be a little pricy - nearly $15 after tax for two regular sized cups. The ice cream once in the bowl is topped with whipped cream - I wasn't aware of this nor was I asked if I wanted the whipped cream (so keep that in mind if you're not a fan) and a cookie of some sort (graham cracker for key lime). What bugged me the most about the ice cream was how hard it was when I sat down to eat it - the plastic spoon I was given couldn't break through the roll so I either had to bite directly into the roll (messy and painful option) or wait for the ice cream to begin to melt. The key lime was definitely tasty - would recommend to anyone looking for something that's not as overly sweet as some of the other flavours would probably be. The regular size was also more than enough ice cream, my friend seemed to agree with me as neither of us actually finished our ice cream. Overall it's a different ice cream than anything else in London, so it's definitely worth checking out at least once. Don't see myself coming back in the future but it's nice to see different things popping up on Richmond Row. read more

The Good: the ice cream was delicious. We chose the donut and ice cream treat and it was on point. Not too sweet, and the flavours went very well together. At $7.00 for a large, it was reasonably priced, and I liked it quite a bit. The Bad: There is no sign outside, so we drove by it before turning around. Also, this is a big one for me. The staff that are making the desserts do NOT seem professional. Both the women that were working there had nail polish on, and the one making making my dessert had fake nails. These are quite disturbing in the food industry. The woman making my dessert also had multiple bracelets on which easily could be touching other surfaces and then touching food. Hair was not pulled into hair nets, or neatly put away. It seemed as though random people just put on T-shirts and were putting food together. I don't know any kitchen that doesn't have hair nuts, and a no jewellery, and no nail polish rules for people who are handling food. Sanitation is so important in the restaurant industry and it really turned me off. I wouldn't recommend or return based on that alone. read more

The ice cream itself was firm to the bite and doesn't melt righr away - which I absolutely love and appreciate tremendously!! Went back today to try more two days later as it stayed on my mind. This time in a waffle cone which along with the flavour I chose. The 'Avolicious': Avocado, Chia Seed, Sea Salt & Honey then topped with my choice of caramel & coconut bumped it up to a whole nother level & star!! My fiance had Koffi also excellent as it was strong and robust. Their waffles are shaped there on the spot making them fresh & pliable. I have been watching out for RoliPoli ever since they have been teasing us with pictures of their renovations and the London Food Truck Association has been posting about their Foodtruck. Unfortunately I work out of town and the foodtrucks have usually retired by the time I reach our little City. A group of my girlfriends and I decided to bombard RoliPoli on Tuesday night. I have always been intrigued by the process of Thai Hand Rolled Ice cream. Just a bit of context, I am a HUGE fan of hard scooped Ice cream, much more than soft serve. So I was really looking forward to this. Location: The Location is a GREAT spot, I think it offers a nice light dessert option across from the Grand and around the corner from my FAVE pizza joint, Stobies. It's great to go for a slice and a smooth dessert- if you can't eat crepes after a huge slice. close to the park, which is where we took ours. Parking is not fantastic, but it is not terrible, lots available along Dufferin. CON: would be paying for parking if you go before 6 on a weekday, there is limited seating, a bench a long the wall and a bar along the window. 3/5 Eats: I ordered the Vietnamese Koffi, and they offered a variety of flavours that hit everyone's selective palates. something coffee, chocolate, fruity, and even a "healthy"option of avocado and honey! ( this was a fan favourite). I really liked mine, it was a nice, dark coffee flavour that wasn't too sweet. Think Haagen Dazs Coffee, but a bit darker and not as sweet. I would get it again, it came with a drizzle of sweet condensed milk, which totally reminded me of get the drip Viet Coffee at any GOOD Thai food joint. 4/5 CON: tasty, but it seemed a little small in portion compared to price $5/small, $7/Large Service: The ladies who were working were very polite and nice. They were patient as 6 slightly indecisive ladies were contemplating their orders. The main issue I think is that the ice cream is a bit of a process and it took about an hour for all of us to get our ice creams. Albeit when we got there 2 girls had already ordered ahead of us, so we had to wait for 8 ice creams to be prepared, but it kind of sucked because 4 of us had finished our ice creams before the last two even got theirs. Another server arrived which made the last few orders move more quickly. I can definitely appreciate that as a new business you don't want to load up servers- because you don't know what the demand is like, but the wait did deter some of our friends when we considered going back. 3/5- cause they were so nice, but if i was alone and ordered behind a group of 6 and it took an hour, I probably wouldn't go. You could argue the wait is for something great, and yes the ice cream is good (not great), but waiting nearly fifteen minutes to have ice cream rolled? Also the open concept inside makes it uncomfortable and awkward to speak with people, compound that with the excessive wait time and you're just wanting to leave before anything is ready. Wont be returning unfortunately as I am a big ice cream fan! :( Staff were friendly which makes me want the place to succeed. Bring the time down to five minutes and I will reconsider. We opted for a single scoop in a cup. The flavour was mediocre at best and all 3 kids took a couple of bites and that was it.
