I'm surprised at the poor reviews because I've used Roley's Tree Care for many years and he's always provided great service. I recently removed juniper plants in the front yard and wanted to re-landscape it. I didn't know he did landscaping until I talked with his office about my Chinese Elm tree. He came out and we discussed a 2-phase plan. It was a much more involved project than I anticipated as the roots from the junipers were difficult to remove and there was a lot of dirt under them on the hillside they had climbed up. His workers were easy to work with and did a good job. They left the area clean each day. I actually designed the project and he delivered and laid various types and colors of stone per my instructions. It turned out very nicely and I'm pleased with the look. The centerpiece of the area was my beautiful Chinese Elm tree that he's cared for over the years. I've always had great service from Dale and his team. read more

BEWARE!! This is a scam artist!!! I live in a gated community and in November 2020 I was having problems with the Liquid Amber trees behind my house. They were dropping sap and spiky balls all over our patio and my dog was eating them. I also had concerns about them swaying in the wind and potentially falling on the roof, or house. I wanted them removed but I had to have an arborist look at them and send a report to the HOA to do a request. I contacted Roley's Tree Care to come out and write up a report. I was told beforehand about the fee to come out, and that was fine since I needed details to give to the HOA. Dale showed up at my house and I met him out front. He got out of his car, looked over the roof of the house and saw the trees in the back and immediately said the trees were dead, had root rot and were dangerous. This was weird and alarming because he didn't even see the whole tree, just the tips above my house. I began to lead him from the front yard to the back of the property but he stopped after a few steps and said he didn't have to look at the trees, that he could tell they were dead and had root rot. I thought this was strange since to my understanding the fee he was charging included him closely inspecting the trees and taking notes. I had an arborist come to our other house once to look at a pepper tree and he used a long thin prod to check the roots, took samples, photos and was on site for about an hour. Dale walked over to the front sidewalk of my house, didn't even walk on the grass or go to the backyard at all, told me the trees were being overwatered and there was root rot because of overwatering. Now, in my initial contact via email, I had told Dale that the landscaping company was overwatering and that the grounds were soggy and I was concerned with the amount of swaying the trees did when windy. I had fears that branches or the whole tree would come down. I thought it strange that Dale simply repeated my fears to me and confirmed the danger of the tree but never actually looked at the tree.He was at our home for less than five minutes, didn't even inspect the trees, put hands on them, take samples or photos. He barely left his truck. He charged me $295. I wasn't happy about this, but I was hopeful that he would write an extensive report that I could send to the HOA. I was told he would send me a report the next day but I didn't get anything. A couple days went by and I contacted him because I was nervous that I got scammed, and his wife told me he was working on the report. I thought that was great! Perhaps I would get a detailed report and it would be just what I needed to get the trees removed. A few more days went by with nothing so I again contacted him. I wanted to make sure he had the correct email address. It took me emailing a couple more times before he responded and his response was basically telling me he had my email address and that was it. He seemed annoyed that I was contacting him so often, but I was on a timeline with the HOA. It took about two weeks before I got an email with the "report". What I received was not a report. I got an email with a letter in it. The letter was about a paragraph long and simply said that the Liquid Amber trees were root rotted due to overwatering and they don't look as healthy as the other Liquid Amber trees in the neighborhood. The letter said he feared for the safety of the structure (our house) and to occupants because the trees could fall down at any moment. He also stated his company could be contacted to remove them. There were probably a few other statements thrown in but nothing that looked like a thorough detailed report. Literally this was just a letter with his opinion and no concrete scientific detail. Even though I was super disappointed that I paid nearly $300 for this crap I sent the "report" to the HOA with a request to remove the trees. I told his wife via email that I submitted the report to the HOA and they would contact him if they want the trees removed and she said that was great since they needed the money. I again thought that was weird. Since I got the report so late I had to wait until January for the HOA to even look at it. I let Dale know this, but never heard back from him. I then had to wait until February for the HOA to have their own arborist come out. It wasn't until March that I got a report from the HOA arborist who said the roots were healthy, there is no evidence of root rot, and there is new growth on the trees. The soil around the trees was tested and nothing negative was found. So why did I have Dale telling me that the trees were rotted, dead, and dangerous when another certified arborist was saying the complete opposite!?I was swindled no doubt. I was duped and I was scammed out of $295. I was also embarrassed to submit a false report to my HOA for review. DO NOT HIRE! read more

1. The payment plan was something Dale offered. He chose to come out without payment up front because he said he needed the work for his guys. We had told him that the higher rate would mean we wouldn't be able to schedule it right away and that's when he offered to split it into 2 payments. 2. My complaint is that instead of stopping to discuss the additional trimming they took WAY more than was quoted. Even the guys who were trimming my tree told me they weren't even going to trim enough to leave behind any large enough branches (we request they are left behind since it's a mesquite). Instead I have a pile of wood and they even admitted they trimmed way more than planned. At the point when they realized more was needed, they should have stopped to discuss it with me. 3. My husband is equally as upset about it and DID NOT tell Dale that he was happy with the job. 4. Dale spoke to me when he came out to inspect the tree. We did not speak after that but I did speak to his guys when they came to trim & was home the entire time. read more

My mistake for not doing my homework on this one. 5 Sycamores and 1 pine trimmed (lightly) in 5 days. Buyer beware: He charges on a per DAY basis, not a per TREE basis like most other tree trimmers. Workers get here at 8:30, take an hour + lunch and leave at 4:30 so you are not even getting a full 8 hour day of work for the $1650 a day he charges! Dale promised another 1/2 day of work on the pine tree "for free" (I have the contract copy to prove it) but the workers were still working on the #5 sycamore at 2:30 pm and never touched the pine. ( I also have security camera footage that proves when they got here, how long they took for lunch and when they left). Also, being asked for money at the end each day is not a very professional way to conduct business IMHO. Cannot recommend them. read more

What Roleys tree service guy said is a total lie. Dale doesn't know the law changed in 2013 he's not knowledgeable about the law he hardly knows one plant name from another. I suggest Dale you check the laws and. Learn about plants. I never lied to him or yelled at him and when I called him on the phone he said it would cost me 510 dollars to come out NOT 250. Roley's Tree Care is currently working on our neighbor's yard, and I can tell you that they are completely unprofessional. I want to start this review by quoting Dale Roley, owner of the business: "Tell them to fuck off!" Today, I woke up to the sound of our electronic outdoor bug zapper falling onto the concrete ground. I look out my window and see an employee in my neighbor's tree cutting large branches that were falling onto our pool equipment (pool pump, filter, heater, control system, etc.). I go outside and ask them to stop dropping the medium size branches on our pool equipment because they can damage the equipment. The employee tries to tell me that the branches are not going to damage the equipment. I persisted and continued to tell them that I don't want the branches falling on our expensive pool equipment. Of course, the employee kept reiterating that the branches were not going to damage our equipment. I told him that I didn't want any branches falling on our yard, regardless of what their opinion was. They didn't comprehend the concerns I had regarding our property and potential damages. I also told him that if he wanted to continue cutting the branches, he would have to figure out how to cut the branches without having them fall on our yard. His response, "Fuck!" repeatedly. I asked the employee what was the name of the business he works for? He tells me to check the name on the side of their company truck. As I walked to their truck, I asked for their names. The rude employee that used profanity towards me told the other employee not to give me their names. Upon calling the business and speaking briefly to the woman who answered the line (I think her name was Barbara), she received a call from the rude worker that I had previously encountered. He had called to let them know I was complaining. I could hear a man's voice in the background trying to figure out what was going on. Inadvertently, they had placed me on hold but left the speaker phone on. The woman told the man that I was complaining again (my last previous complaint was on Oct. 20 for leaving branches and leaves in our yard). His response was, "Tell them to fuck off!" When the woman told him I was on the line, he hesitantly answered the call with a shaky voice. He told me his name is Dale Roley (owner of the business). I asked him, "Fuck off?!" At first, he tried to tell me that it was in response to someone else. After he realized he had been caught, he kept trying to divert the topic of the conversation. I explained to him my concerns I have regarding the pool equipment, to which he responded with, "You think they are falling on the pool equipment." I told him I don't think; I know they are falling on the pool equipment because I can see this from my window. He wasn't offering a solution, so I threatened to call the cops. His response was, "They aren't going to do anything." His best offer to me was, "We are going to try not to let the branches fall on your property," to which I responded with, "I will try not to call the cops." My wonderful neighbor came over to figure out what was going on. After I explained to him the situation and my encounter with Roley's Tree Care service, he apologized for their unprofessionalism and their profanity. To my understanding, their services are costly. One would think that with the amount they charge and regardless of the amount, no one should have to experience verbal abuse from a company doing business with your next-door neighbor, let alone damage and trash your property. What they are charging their customers, you'd expect to receive exceptional customer service. A company that has no respect for women and people, in general has no business offering services to the public. The foul language and verbal abuse that I experienced was offensive and totally uncalled for. These individuals are a bunch of cowards!!! My daughter complained that they were cutting branches and were falling on our pool pump! The cowards told her "f..k you!" She complained to the owner and unbeknownst to him, he was on the loudspeaker and told his receptionist to tell my daughter to "f..k off" what pieces of sh..!!!! Had Dale come to my home and paid him $255 to just show up. Looked over my yard and trouble areas and told me he would get my yard fixed up. He seemed knowledgeable and seemed like a great guy and was willing to help us. Told me the charge would be $1650/day and there was two days of work to do what I wanted done. Said he would send a bid for me to look at and I had to follow up twice to get it in my hands. I should have stopped there and went a different direction as when I got it it had half of what we discussed and the scope of work was barely legible on the bid. I questioned multiple items not listed and was told it would be taken care of. Dale said he would be out on Day 1 to go over everything with his crew. Never saw Dale again. His guys were here for 2.5 days. My palm trees were our biggest concern and they were going to fertilize them and get them back to health including converting one sprinkler zone to a drip line along 5 palms behind my pool that are really struggling. This was done and when asked, I was told by Andrew that he tried it and it worked fine. Not sure how this was tested as I never took him to the control panel to turn it on? The end result was truly a "drip" line and after the zone runs you would be lucky to quench your thirst if you drank all the water it put out. Unfortunately for me I trusted Andrew and didn't check it myself and left my home for 10 days only to come home to one palm that now had 4 dead fronds out of 5 which I am now left with a carrot top with one palm frond that may or may not come out. This tree has looked the same for the last 6 months and after they came to my home in the matter of 10 days it is gone! They added fertilizer and no water is all that changed that I know of.... I'm not a tree expert and that is why Roley's Tree Care was hired! I have tried to have them come back out to fix the faulty sprinkler zone they converted but they have their money and they are are too busy to take care of a past customer. I am now told, (his words) "We didnt even charge you to do the drip irrigation i did that as pr just to be nice! Because it is fairly easy!" Being nice would be installing a system that works and if it doesn't making it a point to stand behind your work. He said "i didnt even charge you for half the material cost of the job! I ate that!" which I don't quite understand. I am left with this: A dead palm tree, a sprinkler zone that doesn't work, and some words of wisdom from Dale, "If you need further work contact a local arborst! There is a old saying givers have to learn to set boundarys as takers have none!" I am taking this to heart and need to learn to set these boundaries so I am not taken advantage of in the future. Roley Tree Service just left our Property. We have several Palm trees that needed to be trimmed up, along with a large Brazilian Pepper Tree that Needed Trimming and a Yucca Tree. Greg did a MARVELOUS job for us and the clean up was wonderful! These guys are THE BEST!!!! read more

Roley's was hired by my neighbors to look at a tree that is divided by our property line. The neighbors wanted to cut down the tree to build a fence. But for my property, the tree creates lots of shade during the hottest part of the year, saving me money on electric bill. My neighbor is a church, which recently tore down a house to build a library in the lot next to my home. We've not had an issue with property lines or the trees, until recently. Roley's looked at the tree while it was dormant and said the tree was DEAD. I suspected this was not the case and that the neighboring church wanted a report that said such, because I would not agree to cutting the tree down. So I hired another tree service- Sims Tree Health Specialists... A great company which I highly recommend. Sims came out and stated an arborist can't and won't tell the health of a tree when it is dormant. The city agreed and I get to keep my tree. Be careful with Roley's! read more

I wish I had read more reviews before we hired Dale and his workers, but a friend recommended him. I'm not even sure I ever met Dale, only his worker Patrick. Patrick was disrespectful and condescending to me (whatever you want, lady) and kicked over a tree stump I used as a plant stand. I just had to have my husband deal with him. The job was finished after a few repairs and the next day the city had to trim the very same tree I had just paid $1000 for them to do because they didn't trim it away from power lines as requested to be safe. The city's cut left it unbalanced. We requested Dale to come back and fix it, but he said it looked great and refused. He also told me he does not trim trees away from powerlines, but of course didn't address this in the estimate or at the time of the job. (Huh? A tree trimmer that doesn't trim trees to keep property safe?) My friend was sad and will not use or recommended them again. read more
