The man saw the trees we wanted removed. He gave an estimate to take down the trees and grind the stumps. Soon after starting the job, he said one tree was big (he stood by the tree to give the estimate) so he needed to rent some equipment and it would cost more. Toward the end of the job, he said there was cement in the tree so it could not be completely cut down. Despite several suggestions, he insisted it was not possible, no matter what. In addition, there was a large chunk of trunk remaining by the six foot stump. My husband determined there was nothing to be accomplished since it was the end of the day. My husband asked if he were needed for anything else because he was going to bed (he is wheelchair bound). We went to bed. A while later, someone banged on the front door. I answered. Money was due. Suddenly, the subject not having been raised during the entire day. I said they had to talk to my husband...in his hospital bed. They did and insisted on payment and that the original man did not say he would grind the stumps. (We have a witness to all of this except the last discussion which ended in the bedroom.) After some acrimonious discussion, we paid. They said they would be back to finish. They did not. At this point, we don't want them on the property at all. I am not happy. My husband is not happy. The person working on our yard, who recommended this company, is not happy. Some parts of the job were successful. The end discussion, the refusal to accept what was agreed, the entire attitude of the last day made the exerience miserable and unacceptable. I would never recommend Cloud Creek to anyone. read more
