Yelp struggles with posting positive reviews as they want this establishment to pay for them…read more Below is one they have decided they would like to hold from the page by Shannon. "Brian Pollack is an incredible asset to our community. His expertise and deep commitment to helping others make him a standout therapist. I genuinely appreciate his willingness to continually learn from his peers and the community, ensuring he provides the best possible care for his clients. It's clear that Brian values relationships and demonstrates authenticity through both his communication and actions. He has a unique ability to connect with people, offering them a safe, supportive space while gently challenging them to grow and move forward in their journey. Highly Recommended!

I was a client of Brian Pollack's for several years (2015-early 2019). While many things happened that were helpful, he often used victim-blaming language in regards to my trauma history (including telling me I shouldn't drink and should set better boundaries), he violated HIPAA at one point, and he left several voicemails for my current therapist panicking about how I was doing with recovery based on information given by my mother, who at that point was not supposed to be contacting him. I have emailed him about these things, and his response the first time I mentioned the victim blaming statements amounted to "therapy is tough," and the most recent time, he responded, "I appreciate you taking the time to write this. I wish you all the best." He has never acknowledged the harm caused or apologized. I do not consider him to be truly trauma-informed, or to be willing to take responsibility and own up for his mistakes as a clinician. I have heard similar experiences from others (particularly in regard to victim blaming and refusing to apologize) as I have begun talking to people who also worked with him at RWJ and on an outpatient basis. While Brian knows eating disorders very well, I caution anyone with a trauma history from working with him, and want people to know that he does not accept responsibility for missteps.

I began seeing her February of 2002, until I moved away in July 2007. When I first met Ellie I was hardly able to get out of bed and had left college.. I thought for good. After witnessing the WTC first hand in downtown NYC at the age of 18, and dealing with other issues, I really felt like I was never going to be fully functional as a person again. Ellie taught me a lot about relaxation exercises and talked me through some of the most traumatic things I have ever experienced. I feel like she is the reason I was able to go back to NYU and eventually on to graduate school. I stopped seeing her and lost touch when I moved to California. If she ever reads this I hope she knows that she really changed my life and that I owe so much to her. If you are looking for someone to talk to and live in this area then Ellie is the person to go to. She is kind, compassionate, smart, and has real solutions to help you. Ellie doesn't push too hard and if it's something you can't talk about right away she understands. I wish I could still receive counseling from her; I have not had anyone else who can even compare to her as a therapist, before or since.

Alas, in this office, there are no true "narratives" or false "narratives." And whatever one partner does, well, in the end that's OK because, hey, it's just their narrative. And you know what? If the other party would just follow Ms. Muska's counsel and leave the house and separate, everything will be good. Problem solved. Carefully seek professional advice. Do your therapist shopping homework.
