Thank you Dawn! The trails were beyond amazing, there were places to take my dog that were super fun. All our neighbors were great as we made new friends in our little area. The showers and restrooms were very clean and the bathroom always kept warm for hot showers. Thank you Amanda! Who was also great! When booking our spot Cathy was also super helpful and accomodatin g. And their store prices were very reasonable, unlike most campsite general stores and they had everything we needed. This place is by far oiur most favorite place to stay....a definite 5 star plus. Also, their cabins and yurts are so cute and homey! we are already booking for next month! Thank you Dawn, Cathy and Amanda for a wonderful stay and looking forward to seeing you all again soon. !!!!!!!!!!!

Spacious well maintained sites, beautiful shade trees, kind staff, dog park, and clean. We are so grateful to the owners that they did not cave to pressure, they dropped their affiliation, and are keeping this campground as a beautiful destination to be cherished. Thanks for saving the shade trees.

What an awesome campground! My family camp for 5 nights here in early August. The cost to camp…read morehere is $16 per night. There are 30 camp sites here and they are maintained. Each campsite comes with a small fire pit, a picnic table, a trash can, a parking space for 2 cars, and a good size camp site. There are water spickets nearby the campsites. There are also flush toilets, automatic water sinks, automatic paper towel dispensers; all of which are well maintained. There are pay showers, if you wish to utilize being clean (50 cents for 4 minutes). Check the web site for all details of the campground. There is also a camp host in case of any emergencies or rowdy campers. Actually, there was one campsite that blared some music past 10pm (noise curfew) for an hour, which I went over there and ask him to turn it down (which he obliged). I will say that many of the campers were more on the strange side (drifters, displaced individuals, and the likes), all which seemed harmless. It seemed that 85% of the campers that were there, all had a dog or two. The Applegate River is about a quarter mile away. My family enjoyed playing in the river twice while we were camping here. Cantrall-Buckley County Park is literally across the street from the campground. And of course, our purpose for camping here was to visit Applegate Christian Fellowship with Pastor Jon Courson (located about 1 mile away). Be aware of speed traps coming into the valley here. There are occasionally police officers stationed along this route.

Pro tip: Stay in Bend, OR and pack lots of food and drinks, and drive into the park for a day trip…read more There may still be snow, yes - even in July! We visited the park and stayed at the cabins Jun 19 -20 and they got five inches of snow the night we left. There is not much to do in the park after dark and not really anything to do in the cabins so bring books and cards, because there is no cell service. You can almost drive all the way fully around the whole lake but there are closures happening so you won't be able to go all the way around. Food is very limited and not good, so bring your own! There is NO CELL SERVICE on most of the volcano. However, there is Wifi at the Mazama Store. I was able to sit in my car (once connected inside) and use the wifi for the apps that it would allow over WIFI. It is not a secure network either. You will need to drive to most all of the sites and activities at the park. If the park activities are open for the season, you will probably have about two fulls days worth of activities to do. However, in off season, a day visit is plenty to take in the sites.

The lake is gorgeous and we really enjoyed the one dog friendly trail we could find which I believe is called Lady of the Lake. They have really cute little trolley tours and gift shop was nice; we spent more here than we usually do. We made the trek around the rim and there are lots of great photo ops and interesting things to see. It's really nice to be able to come and spend reflecting in some of these ancient spaces and appreciating the natural beauty.
