Warning: Incompetent. It was so bad I'm considering filing a complaint with the Minnesota Board of Accountancy for substandard work and negligent conduct relating to services. Hopefully, something can push them for corrections because incompetence on tax prep like this can significantly and negatively impact personal and business lives. We submitted information packages for business and personal tax prep services 6 weeks before the business filing deadline and 11 before the personal filing deadline. There was poor communication from the start. And I'm far from a CPA, but I found significant mistakes in the draft tax preparation when we finally got them, including transcription/typo problems and even information missing in returns that were provided in the documentation sent in our submittal package. Even after sending back questions and notes for corrections, subsequent drafts had entire forms and sections missing (30 pages missing) and additional major mistakes. Slow and poor follow-up pushed us up against the filing deadlines for business and personal returns and eventual extension filing. After many follow-ups and questions on the issues, Jake Roggenkamp quit less than a week before the filing deadline. After failing to respond to or correct errors, his excuse for quitting was, "This is clearly not a good fit." In the long run, it was clearly good for us that he quit. The follow-up firm we hired during the extension period found additional major mistakes. A follow-up with a fellow business owner that referred me to this firm told me that he had also moved on from Roggenkamp and Associates because they had failed to file their quarterly payroll reports and send in their payroll withholding! Mistakes like these are costly in penalties, interest, and reputation! But this review serves as a WARNING to others considering Roggenkamp & Associates. Roggenkamp and Assoc is not a competent, trustworthy firm. Under no circumstances would I recommend them. Jake received my business information in February and the taxes were filed in October on the deadline day for extensions. When I asked to see them before they were e-filed, I was told they had already been sent. Later I discovered they were not correct. All of the incorrect data flowed into our personal returns, so they were incorrect. Since we had property in Iowa, the Iowa return was filed 6 months late. He refused to return calls and did not answer questions about estimated taxes. All of this resulted in about $45,000 in fines plus the costs of having everything redone. Jake and his "company" is worthless! he promises a bunch of help, delivers NONE! Give him and any new company he comes up with, a WIDE birth! A ton of mistakes on simple taxes, filed late and wrong. that had to be paid someone else again to be done right. snake oil salesman are more trustworthy! read more

These people suck at customer service. I have left around 10 voice-mail and no return call. They have not sent my tax info back to me. I dropped off my taxes to have them done on Feb 20th, I was told 1-2 weeks until done. They did not send my taxes in e-file until April 12th. I have asked them to send my information back to me in mail, and I have received nothing in mail and it's may 31st! I've asked them to also look into my past amendment from 2021 and they have dropped the ball on that also...I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! read more

Would not recommend. They didn't file our taxes correctly, so rec'd a letter from the IRS saying we owed another $5000. I brought the paper work in to their office in Crosslake, they said they would review and let me know. We had to respond within a couple weeks. I waited a week, called, left numerous messages over the course of the the 4 days (knowing we only had a couple weeks to respond to the IRS). NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER. So after a week, went to their office only to find a note that they were on vacation for the next week or so. I called Baxter office, only to talk to a very rude receptionist. I asked about the filing, if it was filed or anything. I was very frustrated as NO ONE at Roggenkamp likes to return phone calls. She said and I quote "and do you know how your frustrating yourself calling every day?" What business doesn't return phone calls??? She was laughing as she hung up the phone after she told me they filed the paperwork. Well, no one told ME - the client. Since when do you treat a client like that??? She should be fired, and the person who filed the change/amendment should have called me and told me that it was done and what was done. Finally got the paper IN THE MAIL.
