When I booked and confirmed the booking was for two cleaners for six hours and quoted at $279.35. Three hours into the cleaning, the cleaners said it would be more money. It was an empty suite and not that dirty. I refused to pay extra as that was not what was agreed upon booking. Twice the company stated they would honor the original quoted price then refused at the end, told me the supervisor Axel who booked me misquoted the job and I now had to pay $485, tried calling this supervisor and we finally connected. I explained the original quote was what was agreed upon and did not think paying extra was fair. After discussion and an agreement for me to pay the original amount, my card was refunded the extra charge so I have adjusted my review since we have resolved the issue. Axel also offered me an additional service ftom his company, which I felt would be taking advantage of the situation to accept BUT I do appreciate he made the offer. I have no issue with the work the cleaners did, they only missed two minor areas to clean but overall they did a very professional job. My concern was over the discrepancy in the billing which we has been taken care of.

Rental tools are shipped down from Edmonton (or further), so don't expect to show up at the building and just rent something (as I did). Further, while the United Rental website lists a wide variety of power tools, it doesn't mention that not all tools are available locally. In my case, the nearest unit of the item I was trying to rent was located in Nanaimo. The woman at the rental desk assured me that it was still possible to rent the tool, but that she'd have to look into it. She took my name and phone number, and promised to phone me with the details. That was over a week and a half ago. No one at United Rental bothered to get back to me. It could very well have turned out that it wasn't financially viable to get the tool in (although you'd expect a company that relies on shipping items from central depots to have that sorted out). It could be that United simply wasn't interested in my business as a non-commercial customer. Whatever the reason, phoning to let me know (as promised) would have been the professional & courteous thing to do. Will not attempt to use United Rental again. Cannot not recommend them due to the lack of even basic customer service.
