It was interesting to see the flood lines on the trees along the river. This is a free hike. We parked at the Rogers Grove Park lot and picked up the trail from there. It crosses under Hover St/N 95th St. It is an easy walk with very little elevation gain. We walked to the St. Vrain River Waterfall and watched the ducks for a bit. This was a lovely stop while making our way up to Fort Collins.

No. Does it feel like a bit of untapped nature within a short drive of your neighborhood making it easy to frequent? Absolutely! Many people walk, jog, and take their dogs here. I often see fishing as well. There are not too many bicycles. It is also great for any birders interested in water fowl, such as pelicans, cormorants, blue heron, and ducks. We have enjoyed taking our dogs to Golden Ponds over the years. With the area having a few ponds, you can switch up your walk. Some areas around the ponds are full sun and others offer a shaded reprieve. I have not had any issues finding parking, which is free. The park also has benches around ponds, canopied picnic tables, and flushing toilets in the restrooms near the entrance.

There's a tree that is so big that it partially obscures the view of the tower itself if you're standing in front of the torii gate. The tower looks like a traditional Japanese Temple. It was built in 1973. It has 5 stories with each representing the attributes of compassion which are Love, Empathy, Understanding, Gratitude of all Things, and Giving Selflessly of Oneself. You can't enter the Pagoda. Not sure if there's even anything to see, but it might be cool to just look inside! Cool Fact: Longmont City Council has designated this Tower Of Compassion a Local Historical Landmark. In the area in front of the Tower is the Kanemoto Memorial Cherry Tree Grove, where there's a good number of Cherry Trees. I don't think these cherries are edible. This 7-acre park was donated to Longmont by the Kanemoto family in 1966. Side note: This family also gifted 10 more acres of land for other facilities like a Fire Station, Buddhist temple, Episcopal Church, Elementary School and the St. Vrain Greenway. Besides the Tower Of Compassion, this park has a nice playground, activity pool, basketball court, soccer/playing Fields, sand volleyball, & adult exercise equipment. On the cement path leading to the Pool & Tower of Compassion, and just outside of the restrooms, there's a large Dragonfly metal decoration. I love dragonflies, so it was a nice sight! The Left Hand Creek runs alongside this part of the path. It only takes a few minutes to walk to this tower. It's worth a visit if you're in the area. However, I made it a point to stop by on my way to another destination while visiting the area.

I had to take the initiative and just drive here just to make sure that it was open and what we were able to do. I was delighted to find such a beautiful park right along the river bank. Have the ability to tube and have the little ones play. Children can play, and there is also a kid pool (a definite bonus). I was afraid that it would get packed and we end up not being able to stay. So I was left behind, and my husband went back to get the rest of the family. Since it is Monday, I figure it is not going to get too busy. But, I am not going to take a chance. This spot should be on the list of visiting places. Especially right now that Boulder creek is closed and many other outdoor activities.

Great street parking on all sides of the park. Loads of trees everywhere dropping twigs, pine cones and pods making it a great nature treasure hunt. In summer this will be a wonderful place that is shaded from the afternoon sun. Two big play structures are side by side, great for toddlers and older kids. They have one swing set that has 2 each of big kids swings and baby seat swings. The playground has a sandy type base that had lots of kids having a great time digging in with their sand toys. There are a few scattered benches around but have a picnic blanket ready just in case! If its busy you will want a place to park it. They do have a unisex bathroom but its closed during different times of the year, and there is not another one around so that is important to know. There are two group picnic table areas, with a nice shaded roof on them. I think you can reserve them thru the city website otherwise first come, first served. Overall, super nice park. Lots of people from the neighborhood out walking their dogs, and families hanging out. We will definitely be returning!!

It has swings, a sand pit with a lil shade, a toddler & big kid play structure, a tennis court and bathrooms. There are a few benches to sit on too. The ground cover is a mix if bark & foam. There is grass surrounding the playground but no fence. The street is close by but not scary close so your littles won't stress you out running towards it. Another thing, the water is not in viewable distance to the playground. I was worried that my kid would see it and run for it, but you can't really see it from the playground. There is a pathway leading from the park to walk along the lake there, so if you want to get in some exercise its good. Parking is on the street, no private lot.

This is another 9-Hole fairly wide-open Colorado-style disc golf course. It was fairly easy to…read morenavigate for somebody like myself who never played it before, but I did have to walk out of my way to find some of the baskets and tee boxes before I threw. Most of the holes were fairly long 300-400 feet, with about 4 shorter than that. Water comes into play on 2 holes, but it is easily avoidable. I did have to stop a few times before I threw to avoid throwing at kids and other oblivious pedestrians.
