Following the directions carefully, after five weeks, I basically have nothing to show. After I contacted them, they said they' would get back to me. They never did. When I called a week later, they said they had been speaking to their supplier who they say went over weather conditions, ect. Now I'm told that there was no guarantee that the seed would grow. Nice, I'm out $120. Time to move on to someone else.

Most of the store is full of racks and tables of urban street wear but the walls are covered in paraphernalia that the county fair threw away in the early 90s. Posters of playboy models from 1992, patches for your jean jacket of all the great hair bands, John Wayne or Marilyn Monroe on a big glossy piece of wood with a little clock in the corner, foil portraits, filthy pro-team hats in styles Eazy-E would have been proud (in the days of NWA, that is), cheap crummy jewelry, and more (including an overwhelming incense smell).

From their days of selling rock t-shirts and back patches in the Jessamine Mall to their current situation of having to rent out space on Broad St., this store has been giving back to the community for decades. My husband and I have been going there every time we visit from Ohio, and our kids (now 21 and 19) have found quite a few jems worth a tidy sum of money. The old rock t-shirts are the original articles...the real deal...circa 1983+. The Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax patches are collector's items. It's also worth a mention that we are always greeted with warmth and smiles, as we spent a lot of time in this store, growing up. It's been 26 years and still we're treated like family.

They also gave me a segmented box to transport my flowers, as they were presented in a vase - and not a box. Very classy. The flower presentation was awesome. The roses were nestled in a thicket of baby's breath and fern accents. I don't think you could have fit another stem in there. Simply beautiful! The roses were just nearing full bloom, and are quite fragrant (even now - 6 days later) - which sometimes isn't the case. When I changed the water this morning and trimmed the blooms, I noticed they had removed all the thorns (thank you!) and even wired the stems. I must say I'm quite impressed with their attention to detail. I highly recommend Gary's florist the next time you want a floral arrangement to brighten someone's day, commemorate an achievement, honor someone's passing, celebrate a holiday, or....just because!
