Roger's is what the standard of a Barber Shop should be! Great people, friendly service, with a quality product. Angela and Patricia (the full time ladies) are both fantastic! I was surprised to learn that they can service both mens and women's hair styles with similar ease. The list of services is extensive compared to modern hair cutting places. The prices are very reasonable compared to what I am use to. My hair cut is not difficult by any means...skin tight, high fade, #4+ on top, scissor cut a little longer top front. You wouldn't believe how many people in the industry get that wrong! Patricia nailed it the first time! When Patricia was busy and Angela cut my hair...same result! They both take their time and do a quality job. When I say skin tight I mean it and they give it! After using trimmers, they come back over with an electric shaver...and as an added bonus they do a hot cream straight razor shave "clean-up" around the neck, ears and sideburn areas. Eyebrow clean-up is standard, as is in and around the ears. I typically end with a shampoo and rinse before I leave. This type of service use to cost me between $80 to $100 after tip...and that was if I could even find a place that offered these things. Now I get charged $30-$35 for all of this!!! This barber shop for lack of better words is plain terrible. I don't recommend going here unless you want to get the exact opposite of what you want. I showed the woman I photo of what I wanted and she took huge amounts of hair off my head. You will look terrible if you go here. Don't do it biggest regret ever. read more

I have been in the area for about six years now. This is the place I like to get my traditional haircut at. I last visited last Friday. I had my haircut by Angelia (?, not positive of her name or that its spelled correctly). I do believe she is the owner now. I go to get my haircut, not chat. I just do what I guess would be termed as "walk in". I know that they take appointments, but my haircut is not so special it needs an appointment. In the past, before I found Rogers Modern Barber Shop, I walked in to a shop, they looked at me like I was some space alien, and asked if I had an appointment. When I replied no, they said I could try tomorrow. Well I never went back. Rogers Modern Barbershop will give you a good haircut at a fair price ($18.00). It's just hair. There are usually two barbers and I have seen three in the past. I like this place. It just seems sad that traditional barbershops are hard to find. read more

Needed a haircut before Christmas and every place in Prescott was packed. I called here and spoke to one of the ladies who told me to come down and they would fit my son and I in. Sure enough, they had a few people in the chairs when we got there, but we both were able to get a haircut. Overall the stylist did an okay job for my hair, but they are very friendly and listen to what you are wanting for a style. Lots of photos of Prescott over the years and the older gentleman who runs the shop was sharing stories with several people as they came in. Came for a beard trim and not only did she use CLIPPERS To edge it they didn't even give me a shave. This place sucks and is just a basic haircut place. Go somewhere where they will use a straight razor. Very mediocre. read more

I used to go to this shop when I was in my teens, like 25 years ago. Moved back to Prescott and thought they were gone (I remembered their old location), but glad to see they aren't. After a few not so great haircuts at another big name barber shop I found Roger's again. First, they corrected the off center cut done by the last shop, and second they didn't charge a dime. I'm updating my review. The barber shops in Prescott that I've tried are where the old white Arizonans go to get their hair cuts. If you're politically moderate or of the generation that believes calling the first lady a "pickaninny" is offensive, best stay out of these places or be prepared to spend your time arguing politics. Do they give a good haircut? Generally yes, my experience over a couple of years is a bit mixed but as a barber shop they're pretty good. If you want a dose of alt-right propaganda and anti-everyone politics with plenty of uncomfortable racist and xenophobic remarks, this is totally the place for you. read more
