I had just gotten off the bus in Sedona when I suddenly thought, "I need a haircut!" So, standing outside Walgreens, I picked up my phone and called a local barber shop.
The sweetest young lady answered. I asked, "Do you take walk-ins?" She said yes! Then I asked, "Do you shave women's heads?" Another yes! Well, that was all I needed to hear. Within ten minutes, I was there!
What an adorable little place tucked away in Sedona! She welcomed me warmly, quickly sat me down, and we started chatting. And when I say chatting, I mean we talked about EVERYTHING! It was as though we'd known each other our entire lives.
We laughed, shared stories, and connected so naturally that before I knew it, she was finished with my haircut. Time truly flies when you're in wonderful company!
During our conversation, I mentioned that I'd forgotten to bring my hiking shoes and had decided I wouldn't be hiking during my visit.
She looked at me and said, "You can't come to Sedona and not hike the red rocks!"
Then, without missing a beat, she offered the perfect solution: "Go to Goodwill!"
I absolutely loved that! Not only had she taken care of my haircut, but she was also making sure I didn't miss out on one of Sedona's most extraordinary experiences.
There is something incredibly special about meeting someone for the first time and feeling such an immediate connection that, when it's time to leave, you find yourself thinking, "I just met you, but I'm already going to miss you."
That's exactly how I felt.
To this beautiful soul, please know that I absolutely adore you. In the short time we spent together, you became one of my favorite people. Your kindness, warmth, humor, and genuine spirit made my visit to Sedona even more memorable.
And to anyone visiting Sedona who needs a haircut, especially my fellow ladies who love a beautifully shaved head, look no further! This lovely young woman will take wonderful care of you.
I came in for a haircut and walked out with a beautiful memory, a new friend, and a reminder that sometimes the people we meet along the way are the greatest treasures of our travels.
Thank you, beautiful, for being one of the highlights of my Sedona adventure!
