Their opening time was listed as 9:30am (Sunday) on their website, but we arrived at 9:30 only to find out it didn't actually open until 10am. We waited around half an hour while we watched some employees fiddle around inside. When they finally opened, we ordered some croissants and coffee and a smoothie. We were informed that none of the croissants were baked yet, and that it would take 10 minutes. We decided to go ahead and wait a bit longer for them since we had already invested 30 minutes into this plan. It took 10+ minutes to get the drinks out to us, and I ended up having to walk home with our baby (it was naptime) and leave my husband to bring the croissants home. Well, 45 minutes later, he finally received the croissants, one of which was black from being burned. We were pretty dissatisfied we the the whole experience. The only redeeming factor was that the drinks at least did taste good.

The drinks were good, the food selection limited to a few pastries and not much else. I did notice more food behind us, sandwiches and such, but for the coffee and cake fans, the cake is lacking. The atmosphere is nice, though more effort could be put into cleaning and turning over tables since it can get a little grubby as the days goes on, but that's not surprising for a popular cafe. Since then, we always look out for a Bills throughout the country on our travels. Three of us arrived, unreserved, for a table. OK, lets say we are 'oldies', and proud of it. The restaurant was heaving which is pleasing to see with this era of coronavirus. We were asked to wait while a table was cleared, cleaned and relaid. Meanwhile a younger couple with their family arrived and were shown immediately to a table, UPSTAIRS. Obviously, the young 'front of the house' lady had decided we couldn't have made it up the stairs. She was probably right and we were grateful. Within minutes our table was ready. A wonderfully comfortable booth. Our orders of full English, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and eggs Benedict were brilliant as was the coffee. It is also great to receive freshly squeezed orange juice and not the thin, watery, 'juice'. Service was second to none by two young ladies. Fast, efficient, friendly yet professional. Pricing is more than reasonable. I am always apprehensive about the 10% service charge. I have no objection to paying it as I would, for good service, leave a 10% tip but does it go to the staff. So many companies now put it into their profits.

Seating inside and out although often very busy. They serve plenty of homemade cakes along with soups and sandwiches. Be careful what time you pop in as mum and I went straight after lunch time and the cake choice was slim picking. Happily tucked in to the apple Danish though and was lovely for a catch up with mum with the smell of home baking wafting around the cafe!
