Friends ask me and I say call Gunny's Moto works and you'll learn that he is straight forward and he knows metrics VERY WELL! I won't buy any metric without calling Gunny first. He's saved me from purchasing a few atv's and snowmobiles that would have been headaches right over the phone. From snowmobiles to four wheelers Gunny's is always my first choice.

I paid $4,300 for a full, ground up kx500 restoration in CASH, and after driving 4hrs to CoS, Joey…read moreEnglund wouldn't even get out of bed at noon to speak and give any details about the build, and to receive his payment. Instead, he sent his wife! Mr. Englund did a horrible job with my 1998 kx500 rebuild. He was extremely unprofessional in his communication, even threatening me several times. He turned very unstable after disclosing that the crank case had damage and was making the crank seal leak. HE FAILED TO MENTION THIS WHEN HE INITIALLY GOT THE ENGINE. He claimed he thought I knew about it, when I didn't. Behind the sprocket is not visible without taking it off, so no I didn't know about it. It would have been a simple fix as well, before he started rebuild. He decided to not tell me about this damage. When I recommended the case be split again, and the case to be sent to TOM MORGAN RACING for a simple reweld and reshape, a $125 repair. He immediately became extremely aggressive and accused me of blaming him for the damages. Yes, he thought that I was somehow blaming him, insane! When I picked up my kx500 4hrs away from where I live, I discovered the brand new DUNLOP tires I had on it had been removed and when I asked about them his wife said they were there somewhere, and if anything they would ship them back to me since it is a 9hr round trip. She was very kind during the transaction. I messaged Mr. Englund via FB messenger after leaving and was told "They were disposed of"... REALLY?? Brand new Dunlop tires, that I purchased just 5 months prior?? He claimed they were dry rotted and were now gone and not in his possession anymore. MAGICALLY the next day he messages me over FB extremely angry yet again and says "come pick up your shit I'm not shipping shit and bring your toy." Apparently the toy reference is about an empty holster I was wearing (I drove 9hrs from the west slope through Denver to pick up my bike in CoS... Yes, I am bringing a legal firearm, and YES I LEFT IT IN MY TRUCK!) I would never be so callous as to bring a firearm onto ones personal property.. I am a much better person than that Mr Englund. I mentioned to him to review his security cameras to verify this, in which he could not refute. I would imagine being married to a former marine and cop, his wife would easily recognize an empty holster. He stated his wife was "TERRIFIED" in his FB rant. I was indeed very friendly to his wife, as well as his son on both occasions I have met them. They were both friendly likewise. The left side sub frame screw was never installed when he put it back together. The rear suspension rings were loose, as well as the front brake line being routed above the axle, cutting it on the rotor disc. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE ROUTED BELOW THE AXLE! The front suspension was dropped down .5" for who knows what. (Stock height was desired..) Several nuts have vanished off the bike since he didn't torque or locktite a single bolt/nut. I also gave him both the OEM manual with all routing diagrams and torque specs as well as the CLYMER manual (WHICH HE DIDN'T FOLLOW). The brand new black plastics I dropped off with the bike came back scratched up obviously from other bikes leaning on it. The front tire was flat when we got back from the bead not being sealed. Several plastics screws were half screwed in, and this was before I even got to start the bike. I don't understand how he can have any decent reviews when this is the level of work he produces. I am 100% sure he over charged me on labor, claiming he spent over 18hrs total to revalve the forks, rebuild the top end, and assemble the bike. EIGHTEEN HOURS for that! I really wish I would have taken it to a reputable shop, not some unstable former jarhead, turned cop, turned maniac working out of his garage. This dude was literally threatening me saying garbage like "your messing with the wrong mf'r son my family will destroy you" and other nonsense when completely out of control. He has some SERIOUS mental issues. He may hurt someone one day over a simple rebuild. ‍
