Despite negative reviews, based on friends' recommendations, I reached out to Rodney Quick of Quick Appliance Repair. When I called him, he asked me to text him my address, and we set up a time. He charged me $150 to tell me what I already knew based on the error code....the board needing replacing. I was okay with that, especially because he said he may have the part in a same model washing machine and he would use $75 (one hour of labor) of what I paid to come back and make the exchange of the board which would take 2 hours. That seemed fair to me. He said he'd get back with me. I waited a week of not hearing from him then reached back out. He said he had been out of town on a family emergency and would get back with me. Another week passed without hearing from him, so I reached back out. He responded the part he had wouldn't work and he was still trying to find one for me. After not hearing from him for 11 more days, I reached out. No response. I waited another 11 days and asked him to let me know if he needed me to try to find the part myself. He waited more than a day to respond, then asked me to call him. I called and he said he was confused about what I was asking him, so I reminded him. He said yes, he did need me to find the part because he couldn't find it. I found the part and asked him if it was the right one. I also found a place that rebuilds boards for a reasonable price that is very highly rated, and I asked him if he had heard of it and what he thought. No response. I waited 4 additional days and texted him to ask him to please let me know about the part. He called me and sounded angry. He first scolded me for using text messages to communicate with him (note: he was the one who initially asked me to text him and most of our communication since October had been by text with some phone calls, but he was the one who had told me to text him, and never at any point did he say he preferred phone calls). I told him I had been patient but wanted to verify the part and see what he thought of the place that rebuilds boards. Contradictory to what he said previously, he said he only gets his parts from one supplier, and it would be on me if the part I ordered didn't work. I told him I understood that but just wanted to get the part so I could get the machine repaired. Throughout every conversation, I was very calm and kind, and I never said anything negative about him. Despite this, he told me he would NOT return to do the repairs regardless because of my attitude, and he didn't want to work with a customer like me!!!! QUICK should change his name to Slow...I've waited since October for him to actually help me. RODNEY QUICK took my money and should at least return the $75 of the $150 I paid that he said he would apply toward the repairs he now refuses to do. DO NOT USE THIS REPAIR PERSON. In case you get him confused with his brother or father, also in the business, his number is 850-508-3964. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a repair person! read more
