I wish I had read the reviews before going to this predatory practice. From the start, there were red flags. Seeking immediate care for debilitating back pain, they refused to confirm whether they accepted my insurance or provide pricing over the phone, only mentioning a $37 "new patient special" that included X-rays to get patients in the door. I took an entire day off work for two appointments: one in the morning from 9:30 to almost 11 just for X-rays, and a second at 2:00 PM to review the results and expectation to finally receive treatment. Instead of care, I was taken into Dr. Stacey Rodgers' office and told my case was "severe" and that treatment would cost $3,400 paid in three installments of $1,100, or $3,000 upfront for a discount, required in advance before receiving any care. Like most people, I did not plan to spend over $1,000 at a non ER, chiropractic visit, I expected a normal appointment and treatment at a single appointment rate. Regardless of the treatment required- most doctors and practices have standard rates. When I expressed that this was completely outside my budget and expectations, I was shamed with comments like, "I don't understand, I thought you wanted your pain to be gone?" My pain was repeatedly weaponized against me, as if my unwillingness to agree to prepay thousands of dollars meant I did not want to get better badly enough. I was also told they do not allow pay-per-appointment rates, nor work with insurance, and that I could file my own claims because they are currently suing insurance companies for non reimbursement. This entire conversation took place in front of a medical student who was shadowing her, adding to the humiliation as I sat there in tears realizing I would not be receiving any treatment or relief for my severe pain despite waiting an entire day in agony. When I requested copies of my X-rays for a second opinion, Dr. Rodgers seemed personally offended and made dismissive remarks about my family chiropractor. Patients are required to sign a form stating the X-rays belong to the clinic, and I was told there would be a $25 to $50 fee for copies, though she was unsure which. I was then condescendingly told I could go to Best Buy and buy a flash drive and bring it back so they could load the images, after I had already spent an entire day there. Throughout both appointments, I was repeatedly asked where I worked, which felt intrusive and uncomfortable, as though it was being used to gauge how much I could afford. I left humiliated, untreated, and still in severe pain simply because I refused to prepay $3,400 for my pain relief. Later that same day, I went to Sandstone Chiropractic in Willis. They promptly got me in, provided transparent and reasonable pricing, treated my immediate pain, and gave me the relief I had been seeking all day. The contrast was night and day. I absolutely do not recommend Rogers Stein Chiropractic Center. This practice prioritizes expensive treatment plans over patient care and uses pressure and shame to push them. I wish I would've read these reviews before choosing to go here. My experience was similar to the other one star reviews here regarding their sales tactics, 3 hour long appointments, and their office staff being rude after deciding I didn't want care here. I came in for lower back pain. I provided my insurance but their "office policy" is that they don't bill my insurance after 10 visits, per their staff. After 10 visits is when I would've meet my deductible and paid less. They're doing some shady business here. They wanted me to pay over 2,000 upfront. On my 2nd visit I had what was supposed to be an adjustment and the chiropractor hardly did anything. After my 2nd visit , I changed my mind about going here and it took many calls and emails to get my money back of prepaid visits and they still ended up charging some 70 bogus "patient" fee on top of the office visit.. because "that's just what they charge all the patients " even though I wasn't their patient any longer. They didn't even end up filing my insurance claim . I had to do it myself.. this is a horrible , predatory, manipulative practice.. I advise to go somewhere else. I ended up going to another chiropractor that charges straightforward fees per visit and after 10 visits , I was better. Stacey Rodgers wanted me to see them 3x a week for 3 months and made me feel like I was in such bad shape. Stay away from this place. read more

My experience was extremely similar to Ana M. This Chiropractic office is a used car lot, focused on upselling unrealistic packages for most peoples schedules. I went in today with an appointment due to pain in my neck, fully expecting x-rays and the usual things for a new patient. What I got was a 3 hour wait for a 5 minute adjustment, and the process was far too similar to most time share hassling at vacation resorts. They wouldn't take no for an answer! At the end of three hours I finally got the adjustment, paid my 45 dollars and walked away knowing I won't be returning. Word of advice, don't try and hit the jackpot on new potential patients, upselling doesn't work that way. Give your customers the experience that makes them want more, and continue to upsell as they return...common business practice. read more

This company needs to STOP caring more about their pockets than the patients. Had two visits and the first visit was such a circle jerk that they had me waiting for 3 hours. I still had to pay MY freaking fee, and no adjustments. They wanted my information and my Social Security card. The second time I came back they had me waiting for two hours. Then Martha Manzanarez D.C. told me it was going to cost $2263. I came in for a Trigger Finger and they didn't even care about the pain I was in with my finger. I had called them first and asked if they can help with that and they said yes. I had asked other Chiropractors and they said no. So the other Chiropractors were honest. I told them I was retired and living off Social Security. But, once again, they didn't care. They come off sweeter than sugar just to get you to be STUPID and give them ALL your money. And still no adjustment. I am going to send a complaint to the Social Security office about this company. I believe the woman who owns this business is teaching her employees how to rip people off. The nerve to let people in so much pain sit there waiting for HOURS is shameful. I kept my appointment time but they didn't keep theirs. I even asked for copies of what I signed and they wouldn't give it to me. I then told them it is against the law to do this. Martha acted like she was in shock and I said when you purchase a house you make sure you get copies with all signatures. But the owner never signed anything because they never intended to help in the first place. I will make sure they get investigated. It is so frustrating that I have to give one star. Would give 0 stars if I could. They wasted an hour and a half of my life doing NOTHING but high pressure sales tactics and a "therapeutic ultrasound" that took 5 minutes (aka an intern waving an ultrasound wand back and forth across my back). They pressured me to prepay and when I questioned the cost (approx $1200) as I have no deductible and it was far too high for what I should be paying for the recommended 24 sessions, they finally showed me that they'd added services and fees far beyond my insurance coverage without explaining that it wasn't covered first. I told them to redo the estimate with only what was covered by my insurance and conveniently, the insurance lady had already gone home. When I tried to leave after getting no adjustment and the doctor being "busy" with another patient during my appointment time, they refused to refund me because the receptionist wasn't "authorized" to do so. Overall, I got the doctor talking to me for a ten-ish minutes and a 5 min ultrasound and wasted an hour and a half of my life. Avoid like the plague. Sketchy and scummy to the extreme. read more

I was told by doctor Murray that he would do 3 visits for $210, I am disabled and let him know that is all i could afford, after 2 visits I was charged a additional $113 and billing said oh I told you there may be additional charges. that is not true I wouldn't have spent the money I don't have, I didn't have the 3rd and ask for my money back for that session and billing said no. be careful for the additional charges. After two visits spread out almost 2 hours including taking time off work and travel I'm really disappointed that I wasn't even able to have treatment. I was promised that if I decided to go for the treatment where I'd expressed multiple times I wanted to see if the Webster method was something that I liked and felt comfortable with before committing to paying out of pocket close to a $1000. Today I let the doctor know I had a hard stop after 45 min after my apt was supposed to start because I have to get back to work and was told at the very beginning when I actually got to see her that they had let her know. But then at the end of the visit once I was getting very stressed she claimed she did not know.... That's fine perhaps her interns just don't communicate with her that's not a big issue but I had expressed again that I wanted to see if the treatment was going to be worthwhile before committing. The doctor then refused to do an adjustment unless I committed to the full program. So all in all I wasted about 3 hours and thankfully only paid $25 but paid $25 to not be seen and a lot lot lot of time spent on selling me about why this was so necessary I get it was necessary that's why I am there in the 1st place. The experience alone of how much sales went into this just a 100% convinced me not to go here unless you have a lot of time on your hands perhaps you don't work during the day but if you are a working professional like myself this probly is not the right practice for you. read more

After over 32 years of periods of severe back pain I was finally talked into seeing Dr. Rodgers. It was nearly impossible to ride my motorcycle for any distance as a result of my back. I set a goal with the Dr on my first visit to ride to Northern Colorado. Well, yesterday I rode 9.5 hours back from Hot Springs, AR. after a biker rally. Let me start out this review by saying, I am a true believer in Chiropractors, and have been using Chiropractic services for many years. I recently moved my family to Conroe, Texas and needed to find a new chiropractor for an injury I obtained long distance running. As we all know, in almost all professions there are the good and the bad. In this review you are going to see the worst. My hope to all who read this review, will save yourself a lot of time and embarrassment before going to Rodgers Stein Chiropractic Center. From my first visit here, I should have realized that this was a scam, and not a reputable business. It starts out by one of there staff members giving you a log on ID so you can log on once you arrive at the place so they know you are there and what is hurting you. They then give you a tour of the place and place you in a room. In the room they will ask you all the proper questions, and do x-rays before coming up with a treatment plan. Then they take you into another room and a staff member teaches you how to sleep, to keep your spin in the correct position, and proper stretches, which takes about 1 minute in total. You then get adjusted and put in the treatment room for the rest of your treatment. Then the bill comes...are you ready for this: Computer Service bill: $50 Learn how to sleep correct: $24.99 Proper Stretching: $19.99 Ice: $3.99 each visit (used in therapy whether you need it or not) Electrical Pads: $19.99 Then you still have to pay for the office visit, adjustment, and of course the x-rays. Then on the follow up visit, they make you watch a video before your treatment to let you know how great the Chiropractor Industry is, and how bad you need to have it. Then you get your treatment. After that they have you meet with another intern who goes over this sheet telling you that you must keep coming back for 6 to 8 weeks or the treatments will not work. (Are you Kidding me)!!! I let them know at this point, I was done with this clinic, and I would not pay for watching the video, as I bet that would have been a charge as well. At this point, I realized that this place was a total scam, and I feel cheated, and a little dumb for not realizing I was getting scammed from day one. I had lower back pain and could hardly get out of bed or walk . I've heard really great things about the Rodgers Stein Chiropractic Center so I just showed up and they welcomed me in without an appointment. The new patient paperwork was short but to the point. DR McGee treated me along with several other support staff and it was a great overall experience. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The facility / technology is 1st class, X-ray machines, traction tables, e-stem machines (the best part) and the office is very clean and organized.
