Left at 1am. Most expensive 1.5 hrs of sleep I ever paid for. Arrived after driving 15+ hours. Asked for a quiet room as I planned to wake up at 5am to drive another 10 hours. Dude puts me on the first floor (2 floors) under what sounded like a room full of elephants practising their circus routine (from 10:30am-1am on a Monday night). I called front desk at 12:30am to complain and shortly after the people upstairs got even louder!! Worst experience ever. I hope karma catches up to those people above me and the front desk dude that put me in that room. #rudeness read more

This place is definitely dated but very clean! You can tell that the owners are trying their best to offer a good night's stay in a dated property. One recommendation though is to spend $29 to replace the shower head (room 21) very low flow and it sprays everywhere other than your body! read more

I don't know what all the complaining is about. This place is fine if all you need is a clean, quiet room to crash for the night. Check-in was pleasant and efficient. They have all the amenities. A/C, cable TV, ice machine, fridge. Ample parking. I always stay on the top (second) floor at places like these as the rooms tend to be more quiet. No elevator of course. Walking distance from a few eateries and close enough to historic downtown. Right off the Interstate so very handy. Reasonable prices. Probably the best value although I usually stay at the Eldorado which I like a lot. No complaints at all. read more

This is a dingy roadside motel and I'm giving it the low review as a pet owner who stayed in one of the pet rooms. I actually gagged when I walked in the room. It was a 90 degree day and the air wasn't on nor a window open. The carpet was FULL of old urine stains and the room reeked of pet urine. Why not have a vinyl floor?!? Thankfully my dogs aren't indoor 'markers' or there would be at least one more stain to go with the others. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because at least the bedding was clean. The price for my room was great tonight... & I would stay here again except for the fact that they have no fruit at their continental breakfast. They also have lots of unhealthy bread products such as bagels, toast, waffles , and biscuits. Other food choices like gravy fake eggs, sausage links and sausage patties. But no fruit???. We are in Oregon for heck's sake! There were two really overweight parents feeding their five kids probably all under the age of 7. Their plates were all loaded with biscuits and gravy and all of this unhealthy food. And they were enforcing that they all finish their plates. It made me sick. I appreciate having a continental breakfast but the choices were just yuck. We need some live food ...fruit please? read more

We stayed in 113. The room was quiet, The closet had no doors or curtains. It is very dark on that side of the room & no light in that area. The remote was filthy. The bathtub had mold on the edges. I pulled the sheets down & there were little black flecks of something & a few dried yellowish things that looked like rice. We went to the office & got a fresh set of sheets. Gross! read more

We have stayed here twice, two nights each time. We chose this motel because it was close to an event we were attending in Baker City. The rooms are clean. The bath towels are the thinnest I've ever seen. On our most recent stay we were asked if we wanted our room serviced after the first night, and we replied that all we needed were fresh towels. That didn't happen, and we had to go to the desk and request more towels. From our perspective, the price for rooms here is a bit high for the quality. read more

Pleasantly surprised. My husband and I decided to call it a night after driving all day. Not going to lie...we usually stay at higher end hotels. I would 100% recommend the Rodeway Inn in Baker City. From the moment we walked into the lobby and Bill greeted us with his charm. The room was absolutely spotless. The air conditioner was quiet but worked so well I had to turn it warmer (lol). The bed and pillows were super comfortable. But most of all...even though most of the rooms were booked - It was quiet! That was the most important part of our stay. This place is a dump! When we checked in I should have known this was going to be bad based on the condition of the office. Our room was dark, nasty and unclean. We were afraid to touch anything and my wife said there was no way she was going to stay, so we left. Since there's a 3 day cancellation policy, we were just out the $106. We went down the street to the Sunridge Inn, which is much nicer for the same price. I did write a complaint to Choice Hotels, but they didn't refund the charge. Instead, they gave me 8000 points, which are only good at one of their properties and really doesn't cost them much. They did say they would address my concerns with the hotel staff, but I don't know what they expect them to do. The place is a dump in serious need of a facelift inside and out! read more

I picked this place because I participate in the choice rewards program and I was traveling for work and was having to pay my own way. This is right off I-84 close to everything. This is a two story motel type place. The desk clerk was very friendly and gave me a choice of upstairs or downstairs. He also gave me some good recommendations for dinner. On August 27, we had a total of 3 hotel rooms booked under 2 reservation confirmations at the Rodeway Inn in Baker City. We are a traveling band and upon arrival at approximately 9 AM, Alexis at the front desk was able to check out driver into his room. At 11 AM, we checked to see if the additional rooms were available, but was instructed to return at 1 PM. At 1 PM, We checked into the 2nd room and stated extra towels were needed as it was a shower room only. This commented matched what we stated in the booking notes. "This room will be used as a shower room only. Extra towels needed, please." No more than 2 people are in the shower room at 1 time, but a total of 6 people needed to shower. At 2 PM, when trying to checkin for our 3rd room, Alexis stated we were misusing the shower room and was calling the police. Furthermore, Alexis told one of our band members to step away from the counter and pointed to the security camera. In no way were we misusing the shower room and by that time, we were trying to check into the final room which we had pre-paid for. Upon police arrival, they took statements and handled the situation to the best of their ability. The final result was we could stay in our rooms (driver room to sleep and shower, shower room for band/crew, and spare room for a couple in the band/crew), but to stay out of the lobby. We agreed to this, but upon returning to our rooms, Alexis had deactivated our keys. This caused one of our crew members to return to the lobby to have the keys re-coded. Additionally, in our driver's room, the front desk kept calling his room while he was trying to sleep. We cannot confirm which front desk member was calling. This entire situation was frustrating and harassing. We were so disturbed by the actions of Alexis, that we were uncomfortable using the rooms. A complaint has been filed with the Better Business Bureau: 10788650 Corporate refused to speak with us and transferred us to customer support. As of now, we have been on hold with the customer support team for over 25 minutes to no avail. read more

We stayed here one night July 26, 2017. This Roadway Inn was actually quite a surprise! Check-in was fast, and the family that runs the place were very nice! Got into the room - and it was much more comfortable that I expect from Roadway Inns. Very clean, comfortable bed, and not "stick furniture" like you'd normally find in a Roadway Inn or a Motel 6 - they were actual upholstered easy chairs. Great shower, water stayed hot the entire time. Decent pressure. The hotel was pretty full, but I couldn't hear the people in adjoining rooms. The free breakfast is your standard Choice Hotels fare - but it wasn't overcooked or overheated. The scrambled eggs were fluffy, and the country gravy for the biscuits-and-gravy wasn't a thick mess. Pretty good! Normally I'd give a Roadway Inn 3 stars; but I'm going with 4 on this one. There was just something "nice" about the place that was very unexpected. Especially at the low price they charge (with tax, $68). I would definitely stay here again! read more

Pretty good choice for a small town at the edge of the Journey Thru Time. This is our second stay here. Pet friendly for small and medium dogs, pet lawn, safe parking, and yes there are 2 bars of soap, a shower cap, bathmat, shampoo, hairdryer, coffee pot, iron and iron board, free wifi HBO, quiet rooms, free breakfast, downgrade for lumpy pillows, older tv, and small bed. They charge $15 for a dog and cats are not welcome. I'd say that for a small town its a good roadside place to rest on a long trip through! And close to 2 major grocery stores, banks, gas, fast food and close enough to tour this pleasant historic Oregon Trail town! If you are here in December don't miss the Christmas Parade but dress warmly! read more

Great budget hotel in a nice small town. Checkin was easy, rooms were clean & bathrooms had been updated. The rest of the room is old, but not in bad shape and everything was well maintained and clean. Only downer was their breakfast which I think was trying too hard to be more than it was. They had a "hot" area with potatoes, sausage and eggs (I presume there were eggs but by 9:15 there were none). All the hot food was cold and the potatoes were still raw in the center. There was no milk for the cereal, creamer was only powder & the standard waffle batter was too thick to pour. I'm not one to complain about a free breakfast at a cheap hotel, so this doesn't impact whether or not I would stay there again - but feedback for future guests not to count on breakfast here. The rode way inn is a wonderful little motel. It is on the higher end of midpricing, but well worth it. $67 for one night with two queen sized beds upon inquiry as we stopped in. Internet rates may be even cheaper. The room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of pillows, comfortable beds, and a clean atmosphere. It did not feel like a cheap motel, it was very nice. The room was quiet, and the air conditioner ran smoothly, not like the usual pieces of crap you're used to in a motel. The next morning breakfast is included, with homemade biscuits and gravy, waffles, eggs and potatoes and sausage. A lobby clerk frequently kept tables clean, food stocked, and drinks full. Think of it as paying for a $50 room and a $20 breakfast. It was a nice stay, and if back through this area of Oregon I would specifically make plans to stay here again! read more

We just dropped in to sleep. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. We are traveling with a baby, and they were kind enough to go set up a pack and play (with sheets!) in the room and turn on the heater before we got here. The breakfast is great. I docked a star because they don't have any high chairs in the dining room. You'd think that they would have a few since they have cribs, but alas, they don't. read more

This location is clean, well-kept, and serves a hot breakfast that they have put effort into. This is not the breakfast of plastic wrap cinnamon rolls and lukewarm coffee. I have found that the owners here actually care about making your stay a better experience. This location deserves a better branded name that Rodeway Inn. read more

We had just spent a week at a four star hotel so I was extremely skeptical booking a night at this Inn while traveling home. The outside was cute and clean. The front desk was very friendly and recommended late night dining options. The room was clean, nicely decorated and furnished with all the little extras, not commonly found at places this inexpensive. The town is cute and I DEFINITELY recommend this establishment. No....this place was a joke from the beginning. We should have known better when we showed up and they had forgotten to extend our stay an additional night like we'd asked. We called back a day after we made the original reservation and the lady we spoke with at the front desk was clearly distracted by her friends who we could hear in the background. She told us she had it all taken care of but then when we got there, there was no reservation for the second night. The guy at the front desk originally wanted to have us move after the first night but was able to find us a room to stay in for both nights. When we got to the room, it was fairly clean, but the floor was disgusting. Some sort of stains on it. We didn't want to walk on it in our bare feet. When we got back to the room the second day the room had not been cleaned. I called the front desk and the person that answered the phone said, "They must have forgot". Wow...really...cleaning rooms is your job and you forgot? Mind boggling... I asked if we could at least have some clean towels brought over and she said, "No. You can come pick some up at the front desk though." Probably the same lady that forgot to take our reservation for the second night. I'd sleep in my pickup before I stayed there again. What a joke.... read more

We chose this hotel because they had a walk-in shower for handicap. The bed was great, the linens were questionable but appeared clean. The bathroom was another issue. We were stay 5 nights for a funeral and housekeeping only vacuumed when we requested it. Ants appeared after the first night around the toilet. Once told (housekeeping never noticed them) they put one trap in there. Some dead ants but they were never mopped up until requested. They blamed us for eating in the room. Management became rude when we complained and told use we could have moved to another hotel, rather than resolve the issue. Not staying there again. read more

The room was large but even though we had non smoking the beading smelled of stale smoke. I'm thinking the pillow or mattress . Made my husband almost sick to smell that. This you won't believe but the toilet came off its wax seal when I got up the first time. It actually tilted sideways. My husband said it was not bolted down or the bolts have rusted. We were afraid to use it but had to carefully the one night we were there. There was no alarm clock and no iron or board even though there was a place to hang them. The woman who was setting up for breakfast the next morning was rude. Not very friendly at all. She never smiled and I saw her interact with 4 or 5 couples that morning. Nasty place to stay. Very dirty and the shower or toilet from room above leaked down my walls. It was the room next to the stairwell. Changed rooms and hoped for the best but nope. At around 6pm logging trucks started to fill the parking lot but I thought no big deal until 2:30 in the morning they (8 or 9 trucks) fired up their engines and let them idle for 15 to 30 minutes before they headed out of the parking lot. Complained to the non-english speaking man working and all I could understand him saying was "too bad" I found out after this thru investigations that this same family recently purchased the very expensive but nice Sunridge Motel down the street. We arrived at 2:00 AM and the desk clerk "Bob" was just great, checked us in quickly and we got into our room exactly as requested(king bed, upper floor). The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, with a nice sitting area and work desk. Good flat screen TV, decent shower, nice clean comfy bed. The hot breakfast buffet was also very good. If you're stopping in Baker City, this is the place to stay. The other low priced options in town looked a bit seedy, so we were glad we chose the Rodeway Inn. read more

Very RUDE. We have a service dog and and she demanded the paperwork even though the law in the State of Oregon specifically states hotels may NOT ask for it. She told me to leave and never come back. Eventually her husband agreed to let us stay there (I had pre-paid through Priceline) but when we our credit card activity shows they charged us $15 for the service dog - which is illegal. The breakfast was horrible! Coffee like water, reheated in the microwave, powdered eggs, and hard sausages. read more

PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE, THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT REPEAT CUSTOMERS.... On 3-31-17 we had a reservation to stay. Unfortunately I-84 was closed all night from Pendleton to Ontario in both directions due to a fatal accident. Unfortunately we where caught up in the closure. We called the hotel front desk as soon as we found out and proceeded to inform the attendant that we where unable to make it, as all routes to the hotel where closed. We asked if we could change or get a refund on our reservation, he informed us that there was only one person that could do that, which was the general manager and he was out of the country. This seemed odd to us so we questioned this information, he responded that "whether this is the truth or not this was what he was telling us" and that he would not work with us, then proceeded to just hang up on us. We called back trying to calmly rationalize with the attendant and as soon as he figured out who it was, he just hung up again. He was so rude to my wife she ended up in tears! We have stayed here many times before and never had an issue, but the attendant as so rude, basically telling my wife that he didn't care that someone died, and that the freeway was closed. He made no effort to understand the situation, and was inhumane to say the least. Suffice to say we will be seeking legal action. I strongly advised against not giving them your business, they don't care about you, and if I-84 gets closed for any reason, which happens frequently they will take your money leaving you stranded. We were unable to get a refund, and had to get a room in Pendleton. read more

Decent place to rest your head for the night when passing through town. Its not the Four Seasons, but its fairly clean and comfortable. They allow pets at no additional charge. My one complaint is that there wasn't a good spot to take the dogs out to, as it is either concrete or lava rock covered planters. The best part is the staff. They are friendly and very helpful. The "continental breakfast" is sad if you like variety, but a bagel and cream cheese was good enough for me. read more

Clean, organized and friendly. The location is very convenient off the freeway but not close enough to hear any freeway noise. Parking is close, convenient and was able to accommodate our SUV with trailer. The rooms are clean, well appointed and the prices are very reasonable. The beds are very comfortable. The free breakfast is extremely good and the staff are very friendly and very responsive. They also seem to genuinely enjoy their work. This motel saved my butt on my way to Seattle. On the day I needed a room in this small quaint town, there was a bike race and most of "Pet Friendly" places were taken for my German Shepherd. I stopped at this place as a last resort. Although they have a breed restriction on shepherds, I explained that my dog was very good @ at hotels and the guy who was on duty, let me rent a room. I would have given it 5 stars just for the fact this guy gave me a chance, but the rooms were dated and there was no soap provided whatsoever in the room. We were pleasantly surprised to find a big, very quiet, new room in a nicely done motel for the extremely reasonable rate. The building exterior, stairs and balconies have seriously massive beams, beautiful wrought iron lanterns, traditional-style roofs and brick walks. The main stairwell has a wonderful display of antiques and stained glass windows. The whole effect was a pleasant, modern stay in an Old Oregon Trail setting. read more
