It is a federally recognized teaching institution and it trains and certifies ski instructors to best serve its partners such as ski schools and the Canadian skiing public. My 17 yr old son and I were recently hired by the amazing team at WINSPORT (previously known as the Calgary Olympic Park- home of the 1988 OLYMPICS!!!) on the condition that we pass the 4 day CSIA ski instructors level one training. Sure enough, as of this past Sunday my son and I both became ecstatic graduates, along with most of our fellow students, it was probably one of the happiest moments in my last decade and Ive had some amazing moments! It was not only great mommy/son bonding in a way we have never felt before (ie seeing each other interacting with new incredible and talented people, strangers all of them and yet become good friends after 4 days, dealing with difficult adult demands and education and physical challenges, and seeing each other succeed) but best of all it was a learning and maturing experience far above anything I could have anticipated. Our incredible coach ***** has been teaching skiing for EXACTLY 30 YEARS, and we realized within about 1 hour of meeting him that we were in for a very special treat. Everyone in our class (8 great people, all fabulous skiers) doubled their skiing skills in 4 days. Have you ever seen a man so fit he can literally ski UP A MOUNTAIN WITH NO POLES - QUICKLY! - And NOT be out of breath? He did that a number of times, and then skied back down the hill to where we were assembled and accurately skied BETWEEN the two poles he had stuck into the snow about 2 feet apart. Audible gasping from our class. I took massive notes on my phone with Ill copy and paste in a minute if anyone wants any a) great ski tips b) great teaching tips c) life lessons :) We all had a great time and I would recommend this organization to ANYONE interested in skiing and education. Even if you don't have a job lined up like we did, it might quench your thirst for learning something new and perhaps developing it further, and then sending out some resumes, you really never know. And an added bonus was that the COP itself was perfectly situated and staffed and well maintained and PERFECT WEATHER for this training. Check out these photos, wouldn't you love to ski here for 4 days. Thank you CSAI !!!!!

Pierre was mine. He was absolutely amazing. I got so much better after lessons with him. The people at the ski rental and customer service area were nice and helpful. Like all ski resorts, they have a cafeteria and offer several options for food. You can buy anything you forgot here and they have lots of choices for clothing gear goggles. You name it. The staff on the slopes is very helpful and it has a great feeling overall..

Wonderful hill worth the somewhat long drive!…read more I came here on a Sunday with my partner. Buying tickets online was super simple. For a 4-hour block, the student price was 40$ + 4.35$ for the rechargeable ski card. We arrived to the hill and there was a sign saying the parking lot was full but we managed to find a spot. For the first time you ski here, you need to go to the ticket booth to get your card. However, for future visits, you just enter your card number when you buy the ticket online and you don't have to wait in any lines when you get there. The hill is very well maintained. Lots of varied runs of varying difficulties. Great options for beginner and intermediate skiers. A few tougher options for more advanced skiers as well as a park for those who like to do tricks. Employees were nice and helpful. Driving back to Montreal in the afternoon/evening on a Sunday took almost 2 hours because of the traffic so be aware of that (especially with the curfew). Even with this minor negative, we have a wonderful day and look forward to coming here again!

Had an amazing week of skiing with the family!…read more For a first time skiing in Canada we all agreed this was a good choice. Plenty of terrain for advanced skiing which most of our party was. There are plenty of beginner slopes close by if you are unsure if your little ones are right for hear. I don't typically stop for lunch but I could not help myself in going back time and time again to grab a chili to warm up and thaw out. Loved seeing the fresh baked goods at the top lodge, i can safely say I stayed away from them. Mid week parking very manageable. P2 & P3 lots very close for walking to the access lift. I took a hard slip and fall on the ice so be sure not to take long strides while going through the parking lot. Lift lines were a breeze all week, even on Saturday with the Duncan lift down. Longest I ever waited was 20 minutes on the edge lift, and that was because the lifties did not do a good job clearing snow under the chairs so everyone kept loosing their skis. I bounced around in the singles line and in my group of four and both moved very well. I would absolutely come here again, there is plenty of places to stay around the area so arriving on a Saturday night to ski Sunday is very doable.
