I was snowboarding at Sunshine Village, fell down and dislocated my shoulder. Ski patrol was great and got me down the mountain, into a cab, and straight to Mineral Springs. Immediately upon walking in, they recognized that my shoulder was not in the right place, that I was in pain, and it's better to put shoulders back in sooner rather than later. I literally sat for less than one minute in the waiting room, before being brought back and prepped for shoulder reduction. Dr. Alex Brothers and his staff did a great job, working quickly and efficiently. Overall, the ER experience was as good as it could have been. It was clear that they are experienced in sports (skiing) injuries and had the right skills and tools on hand. Even the price seemed very reasonable (coming from the US). If you need a hospital in Banff, I would highly recommend them.

The staff here are nice but I found that my three visits could have just been reduced to one visit if they had ordered the right tests the first time . Came here last Sunday because of a bad reaction to a precautionary antibiotic that the doctor at Alpine clinic told me to take . Basically I was so nauseated that I couldn't eat more than a few bites of food and it's been three days since i've taken that med with no improvement . Just wanted to see if there's anything more serious going on. Despite there being only three patients in the ER, the doctor spent 5 min examine me and sent me home saying it will pass. Two days later I was getting stomach pains and was told by the healthlink nurse to go to the ER. I had to leave work early at this point . This time they redid the blood and urine tests and the doctor told me he would send me for an ultrasound the next day and and I was thankful for that . The next morning I took care to not eat or drink and called ultrasound clinic in Canmore and Alas, they have not received my referral! So much for reassurance from the doctor. The next day I got up early to go to walk in and tell them what happened and get them to send another referral. When walk in was packed I decided to go back to the hospital just to ask why the referral hasn't been sent. They checked my records and found out that the referral wasn't made in the first place...which I think is odd to put it politely . Then strangely they said that they will re admit me to be assessed again by the new doctor on shift today and she was the most helpful among the three visits . She checked me over again, ordered x rays and arranged me to finally get the ultrasound in canmore that afternoon . So I guess the ER experience really depends on who is in shift and how serious they consider your issue as .

Female, older provider did a rush exam and said no point doing a test, it was COVID. No medication, no antibiotics. Take Mucinex. Wife is a nurse, and wanted them to re-evaluate. Staff said come back tomorrow "there would be someone else here." 400 bucks, no thanks. Came home and saw my Dr., ran all test and said I have a respiratory infection. Antibiotics, inhalers, the works. Feeling much better. Just a tip; don't get sick in Banff and go to Alpine for help.

The COVID protocol is still in effect and masks are still required and provided free of charge. I get my regular 3 month blood tests here and never have to wait long because I always have appointments. Emergency like any hospital usually takes awhile but beia smaller town wait times are usually not too long 2+ hours at the most. Can't say enough about the doctors, nurses and staff. They are always pleasant and engaging. Like all hospitals very clean and sanitary. What makes this hospital somewhat unique is that they have local artists work on display which is very nice to look at while waiting. 4 stitches later we're done.

They are slow even when the place is empty. I walked in with very aching muscles from two days of hard skiing and probably not stretching enough, and walked out super relaxed. I would highly recommend Andrew and Back At It. He was very accommodating to a surgery I recently had so that I could lay on my stomach without compressing my chest. If I lived here, I would go back every other week. I may just have to come back for a massage soon and it is probably the most reasonable price here in Banff. Highly recommend and the location is very convenient as well.
