Perfect beach day--especially for families! The beach was clean and peaceful, especially since we visited during the week. The water was clear enough to see our feet (definitely not Galveston!), and the shallow area stretched far out, making it ideal for kids to splash and play safely in knee-deep water. We loved having a palapa for shade--it kept us cool all day. We brought our own chairs, which worked out great. Another big plus: parking was just steps from the sand, so there was no long trek with gear. Lots of swim area and space to spread out. We'll definitely be back! read more

I absolutely love Rockport Beach! Whenever I feel like taking a break of the city and spending some time in nature, I like to come down to Rockport, TX. This small beach town is full of delicious restaurants and amazing people. However, one of my favorite things to do is going to their beach. As any Texas beach, their sand is rockier and can't be compared to a beach in the caribbean. However, I like that it is located within a bay so it's protected from huge waves which makes it great for kids. On our most recent trip there, the ocean tied was so low that the beach looked like a giant splash area, which my kiddo absolutely loved. The daily entrance fee for the beach is $10 and their yearly membership is $40. They do have public bathrooms and showers, but they are not the best. They also sell food and beverages inside the beach, but only during busy season (usually closed on weekdays). They also have a nice playground for the kiddos which is in the shape of a pirate ship. Also, please note the beach is not dog friendly, but service animals are allowed. read more

This beach is very kid friendly considering it is knee deep even really far out. I would recommend going to the pay part of the beach if you don't want to be in hot bath water. First time coming to attend the crawfish festival. Not too shabby. We tried all types of flavors and styles... some included potatoes, corn, garlic cloves, mushrooms, and SPICE lol can you guys which was my fav? Purchase tickets for this event shared of time, unclear if they would still sell at the entrance but that were we went to get arm band, which is required to participate. There were so many vendors. Some participating in the crawfish contest, others selling their products: clothes, hats galore, and other novelty items. Because the weather the previous day, the festival was delayed a bit but the vendors made it fun, playing music, offering beads, free grown up dranks, They have tables and chairs that are to be reserved previously. Downfall, tables aren't numbers and a bit of disparage causing discontent with some of the customers. read more

It is the greatest beach if you have small kids. The water is not deep for a long way out. It is clean & there are port o patties along the beach road . There is a bath house & restrooms. I live in Rockport. If there are jellyfish, then they have hit the Texas coast. It cost to park at the beach. It is a private beach. There is a small place outside of the gate if you get there early with access to a small beach for free. We live here & get a year pass. read more

Surprisingly clean in a State that is ranked Worst Beaches in the US. Pursuant to their local Municipal website, ocean cleanliness inspections are done on a weekly basis. Come early as the little huts are occupies very quickly. We came before 10am and there was already a line. Water was clean, beach areas were clean overall. Rockport beach is absolutely epic! We went here for Spring Break 2024 and it was absolutely a family friendly place! On our first day, we explored the free beaches here for a few hours, and it was a delightful experience, especially for a quick visit! There were two accessible port-a-potties on this side, which is better than nothing! The second day we spent the whole day here so we opted to pay $10 for the day (come & go for the whole day). There's an option to pay $40 for the whole year. It includes two pavilions with bathrooms, shower as well as multiple playground. There is ample beach space to set up or tables both covered and uncovered for setting up for the day. A few food trucks or you can bring your own food for a picnic. Beaches are amazing. Shallow water safe for little ones to have fun. Beach is incredible clean and overall such a great experience! We have a 6 & 8 year old and we will definitely come back here! read more

Beach is clean, playgrounds next to the sand, soft sand, and no pets. It's more for families with little kids as the water isn't too deep and the waves aren't as big as Port Aransas or Whitecap. It was overall relaxing and we would definitely go back. read more

The beach is great there was a lot of jellyfish still as of june 24th 2025 but it's definitely one of the better beaches I've been too. We mostly went fishing and I highly recommend live bait they sell it pretty cheap at the shops. read more

This beach is awesome. It's a hidden gem just North-North East of Corpus Christi. It is small public beach that Rockport takes great care of. Combed and cleaned daily. They put lots of sand in the water so family and kids can wade very far out without any worries. That is a really good plus compared to other beaches in the area. They have multiple very sturdy shade huts along the mile long beach. Plus bath house, and salt water pools. read more

Located along the Texas coastline Rockport is about 30 miles north of Corpus Christi or 2 hours southeast from San Antonio. Not a bad trip for such a great family friend beach. The cost is 10 bucks per car to enter the beach park which is a great value. Once inside there is plenty of parking and space on the beach to set up for a fun beach day. From the parking areas to the beach is a short walk. There are plenty of portable restrooms, shower areas, and playscapes for the kids. The water was very comfortably warm and the sand is clean and easy to walk in. The water was some of the cleanness I have seen in Texas (besides south Padre) No pets and no glass containers are allowed. Rockport Beach park is awesome. Seagulls were a bit much, had to make a sandwhich twice thanks to the seagull snatching it out of my kids hands. Funny though! Spacious beach! Went several days and never felt crowded. The sand is full of pebbles, and there is very little area for good sandcastle building, but they comb/til it occasionally which makes it better. The water is shallow, and you can walk really far out! This is great for boogie boards and riding the waves. This also makes it great for little ones. My 3 year old was able to walk quite far out from the shore before I had to pick him up. We saw lots of hermit crabs, but few other sea creatures unlike other gulf shore locations. My favorite part is that it is mostly uncrowded. Rockport doesn't have all the fancy things that largest tourist towns have, but I like that. My family had a nice, overall quiet vacation with multiple trips to the beach. It felt like we could have private time as a family even with others around. The beach does have wonderful little tiki hut shades, and there is a building with bathrooms centrally located and tons of port-a-potties through the length of the beach. If you drive to the end of the beach, there is the saltwater pool that is great for younger kids or guests who don't like big waves. Most mornings we arrived around 9am and left at lunch. It was the perfect amount of time. For those who prefer to eat at the beach, there are plenty of picnic tables and grills. Just watch out for the sea gulls. We did experience strong winds (think 15-18 mph) daily. Maybe it was the season, but it made the experience slightly leas enjoyable. The wind was loud, so it was a little less peaceful. A few other things, there are some playgrounds on the beach, a walking trail on the bay side, boat ramps, and a fishing pier. Full honesty, barring witnessing some horrible management or seeing a place covered in trash, I don't think I'll ever rank a beach less than 5 stars. This spot still earns its rating though. So clean! There are single column palapas near the water, they get occupied pretty quickly, but it seems they open up often as well. Further inland are grills and picnic tables, so you don't really need much for your beach stay. We had a fine time in the morning with just our towels and some water to drink. The shad was taken, so we kind of just left everything on the open sand. Our stuff was left untouched. We returned in the evening with a cooler of drinks, water to rinse off with, and our towels and this time snagged some shade for our things. We stayed out pretty late and were completely unbothered. A few jellyfish were in the water and on shore, but we didn't have any trouble. Absolutely visit this beach if you get a chance. read more
