Decided in early December 21 to replace our 20-year-old HVAC unit in its entirety. Did the brand…read moreresearch, scouted for bids using the kind and accurate information discovered on our Next Door app here in town. The clear winner, based on a huge percentage of Next Door endorsements, was Peters Service Company in Marble Hill, MO {573-238-4200}. Emailed them for a bid and was surprised when the owner, Mr. Greg Peters, came over the following day and walked me through exactly what they had in mind for the best installation. He sent another email the next day with everything in writing. We were never more surprised than when he included a "senior discount" and "military thank you" in the form of a free Lennox Merve 11 filter system, regularly $450, at no charge. But wait, it gets better! Greg said his guys would be here on a date and time to be set certain after all the stuff was ordered and delivered to their warehouse. Said they'd start at 8:30 in the morning, he'd give me a call just before they arrived so I could corral my Jack Russell Terriers {who think they're German Shepherds}. Sho nuff! They arrived {after calling me about the dogs} three minutes early, had their trucks parked and unloaded and were at work exactly when they said they would be, working together like the close-knit military units I'd known in the submarine service. Having been a General Contractor myself for more than twenty years {in Oregon and South Carolina} I knew how difficult that little magic trick is to accomplish. My first question, of course, do you think you'll be finished in one day? They just grinned, said closer to half that. Good grief, that had to be impossible, going by what I'd seen from other HVAC contractors in various subdivisions. But ok, we'll see how it goes. Five hours later the new {all Lennox!} machinery was installed, up and running like a sewing machine. All new Freon and electrical connections were done to code. New {beautiful!} coupling duct-work was fabricated. A new PVC vent system was routed through the outside rim joist. A new concrete pad for the new outside unit was placed {the old one hauled off}. The old furnace piping was removed and replaced for the new component. The elderly HVAC units and old water heater was disposed of {did I mention they also installed a brand-new gas hot water heater?}. Their work area was completely cleaned up, swept up, pristine. A lot of factory instructions for use of the equipment was provided. They removed several old no-longer-used gas pipelines that had been in place for fifty years just because they wanted to. Icing on the cake? Mr. Stacy Peters came by this morning to do the final "harmonic" tuning {after burn-in} of the components to an extent that some very powerful home-studio recording equipment {I own Horse Cactus Music here in town} can hardly hear the slight rumble of the new units. Never would have believed that to be possible! Stacy's parting gift to this family as he left this morning? A brand-new 16"X25"X5" filter element for the new filter system. I tried to pay him for it, but he said naw, that's from me to you. Filters last six months in this configuration so we won't have to worry about filters for a full year! I'm likely leaving out stuff they did because I don't bug workmen during their toil and didn't spend much time in the basement that day. Suffice it to say, we were one-hundred-percent PLEASED and literally blown away by what these fine people accomplished, and still can hardly believe they did it in such a short time. My wife and I both recommend them without reservation! [Please remember the Peters contact phone no: 573-238-4200} Jason B., Cape Girardeau, MO 13 Jan 22

If there was an option for zero stars, it would be so…read more For the love of God, please do not hire this man or believe a single word out of his mouth. Paperwork means nothing and he has no morals. If you still give him a chance, make sure you get a copy of his insurance, you will need it! I am being thorough to warn everyone possible not to hire him. Save yourself thousands!!!! We hired this man trying to give him a chance as he said he and his family were wanting work. He used religion as a front to make it seem as if he had morals - it couldn't be further from the truth. We thought it would straight forward and we had documents that outlined the work, the amount to be paid, and what materials what would be provided by the home owner vs. the business. Months pass and to put it at best, poor work happened and we continuously had to have "meetings" where we would out line the issue (extremely crooked wall, see photos - he built the wall not old construction)and he would defend why he did it - we have had contractors confirm no, there is no reason the wall needed to be crooked, you are just terrible at your job). Our bedroom currently has over 1,000 lbs of floor leveler on it because he didn't think it worth was just replacing the subfloor (maybe $300?) on 110 sq ft - if you know you know. He also tried to level this floor at 10 PM in the dark (no electricity was out there) with his young daughter (10? 12?) being the judge of the floor being level... I can't even begin to explain the regret of hiring him every single day of him showing up to the house wondering what he damaged or made worse. We only allowed him to continue because he said he was willing to make things right and we had already given him the money - literally the only reason I ever allowed him near me or my home again. Sure, we continued to try and work with him and his family. They showed up at the worksite with young children in dangerous situations: we had no floor and had nails, insulation, mold, and other things exposed. We were already uncomfortable with this in our home but especially with kids and being in our home. We asked for insurance purposes they not come. He continued to bring them to the work site. When they began work on our basement bathroom the real horrors began. It shouldn't be too crazy, install a pre-fab shower pan 48x24 and move a toilet. Sure, we will need to cut our basement floor - agreed and noted. However, this was noted in our estimate, and instead of disconnecting the old sewer, he just used literally (see photos and mold) a full can of flex seal, a Walmart bag, and electric tape to disconnect our old sewer line. I expressed concern over text and verbally numerous times about this health hazard as it was leaking and growing mold more by the day. We had a contract and I was about to ask for the money back because of the health risks that they kept minimizing (see LITERAL FROGS COMING IN OUR HOME, FROM SEWER LINES LEAKING IN OUR HOME WITH ACTUAL SEWAGE FROM OUR UPSTAIRS TOILET) yes - I do feel all caps was needed. We tried to ask for money back for the incomplete work and his deadline of completing the entire project had passed without a single room finished - in fact, we had to repair EVERY SINGLE THING the man touched AND MORE. The work was not completed and months past his promised deadlines so we again ask for his updated timeline. We had given him a deposit, half of the remodel cost (again, lessons learned but want to warn/save others !!!) and he kept saying he would refund us and that he was "in over his head" but he was continuously flakey and never showed up again. He removed his trailer and we never saw him again. We were out over 18,000.00. We filed charges with the local sheriff department and are actively working on figuring out how to proceed legally. Bottom line: do not hire this man - he is a liar, dangerous, told me he had poisoned a previous clients dog with steak "so he couldn't resist it" (as if that's something that's normal and you should tell a homeowner). I did however get over twenty cameras professionally installed to ensure the man will not be visiting our property to harm our animals or cause more property damage. This is a person who hired this man and lost close to 20,000, I was young, trusting, trying to help a person out who needed work, and I regret everything.
