From the very beginning, the care, structure, and intention behind this Montessori program were evident. Mrs. Ashly and Ms. Sharron are true blessings. Their patience, consistency, and genuine love for the children show in everything they do. They don't just teach, they nurture, guide, and truly see each child as an individual. Knowing my child is safe, understood, and encouraged every day brings a level of peace that is priceless. Because of them, my child is thriving emotionally, socially, and academically. I am deeply grateful for JDIMA and the incredible people who pour their hearts into it. This is a place where children are truly cared for, and it shows.

The team here is so much more than educators--they are like family. From day one, my children have been cared for, loved, and encouraged to explore the world around them. Now that they're in the traditional Montessori program, I can see how much they've learned and how confident and curious they've become. The teachers truly understand each child as an individual and create an environment that fosters independence, respect, and a genuine love of learning. I feel incredibly grateful to have found Arbor view, and I can't imagine a better place for children to begin their educational journey.

My oldest child still loves to wear his Arbor View Montessori school shirt. My wife's thoughts: Lydia is personable and organized. School was clean and safe. My thoughts: Staff: Lydia, the owner/operator and head teacher, is the heart and soul of this place and is heavily involved in the daily activities for kids 3 years old and older (she has other staff who run the nursery which is part of the school). She has a strong personality and the children listen to her. (My wife and I toured another daycare center in the area before deciding on this one and the kids there were running through the building unsupervised; we watched one of the kids there grab a piece of pizza from a pizza box that was for the staff and then walk away without staff even noticing. Having spent time in Lydia's school during the day, I can confidently say that sort of thing wouldn't happen at Arbor View Montessori.) She and her staff teach the kids how to behave. There was staff turnover, but that is normal in a post-covid world and is at least partly due Lydia having high standards for her employees, like being Montessori-trained in addition to being trained in early childhood education, i.e., having ECE units. Discipline: The children here listen to the staff. Lydia runs a tight ship. While my kids were attending, I did not see or hear of any staff there administering corporal punishment to my kids or anyone else's kids. When I asked Lydia if she had any suggestions about getting kids to behave, she recommended the book Positive Discipline by Dr. Jane Nelsen. Education: This place is more like a school than a daycare. Lydia teaches the kids all sorts of things; both academic and otherwise. For example, she taught my older child how to write letters and also how to pump his legs to swing on the swings. The latter is notable because it shows that even when Lydia is out in the playground watching kids at recess, she looks for opportunities to teach kids things. The nursery staff there taught my younger child how to put away toys and also started teaching her how to eat with utensils. Activities: There are field trips to the zoo and the pumpkin patch, a Mother's Day tea, and plays/performances/potlucks for families to attend. Several kids from the school invited my oldest child to their birthday parties. Technology: Lydia is "old school" in a good way. Other than playing classical music recordings for the kids, she doesn't use educational technology with the kids. No screentime, movies, or TV at all. Huge plus. Prices: My children (an infant and a preschooler) went to school here from August 2023 through October 2024. In the time my kids were there, prices were only raised once, at the beginning of the fall term, and the increase was minimal. There are three prices based on age range: 0-2 years (infants), 2-3 years (toddlers), and 3+ years old (preschoolers). The CPI increased by 2.53% from August 2023 to August 2024, but the rates did not increase accordingly in August 2024. The monthly infant rate stayed the same ($1,580.45 per month) and the monthly pre-school rate increased by $43.30, or 3.4%, from $1,277.35 to $1,320.65. The combined annual increase in tuition for my two children from August 2023 to August 2024 was 1.51%, or 1.02% less than the CPI increase over that time period. When I asked Lydia why the infant rate did not increase, she said she didn't want to increase the most expensive rate because she knew it was hard enough for families to afford daycare and she didn't want to make it harder. She also said she did not raise prices during Covid for the same reason, which is notable as the previous daycare my oldest child attended, Childtime Of Roseville, raised prices at least three times during Covid, citing inflation. Prices do not include diapers or lunch - you must provide both. Also, if your child is 3 or older, you may be asked to bring a snack once a month or so for the entire class. Here are my older child's comments when I told him I was writing a review and asked him if he'd like to add anything: "I'd like to go back. I wanna go back to school because I love going outside for recess and then eating lunch and doing jobs. I like doing all that." ("Jobs" is the term Lydia uses for hands-on educational activities the kids can choose to do.) And then as an afterthought he said: "I like the swings too, daddy. Can you please put that too?"

They have a waitlist for a reason. The grounds are beautiful with open space for kids to play and there are two locked entry points w security codes to get in; the grounds are fenced to keep kids safe. The classrooms are clean and Montessori educational items are placed at eye level accessible for children to interact with. Montessori language, such as calling the activities "jobs," is used, along with the traditional "walk around the sun" ceremony that takes place on a child's birthday. The school uses an app to communicate with parents showing pictures of their child during the day so you know what they're working on. I made it a point to check in w teachers at drop off/pick up time so there was always clear communication and collaboration with the school. The staff were all professional and kind in our experience. Our child has grown so much in the years we have been at RMA. At a recent elementary school assessment we were told she scored a grade level above academically on the kindergarten readiness test. Our child loves science after having weekly hands on science experiments in the classroom; she mastered letter and number recognition; she can write her name and has developed critical thinking skills thanks to her teachers and a school environment that encourages curiosity. The performances the school puts on throughout the year are really precious. The kids work hard at learning the songs and a lot of care goes into the events. I don't know the circumstances behind the negative reviews here, but I fully respect that Ms. Janet does not air any dirty laundry on a public forum like this. All I know is that RMA has a responsibility to provide a safe and healthy environment for the children enrolled, and from our own individual experience, they have done so. Our experience with RMA has been nothing but heartwarming and positive and we will miss it.

They really saw him as an individual, helping him with his strengths and encouraging him to try new things at his own pace. The self-regulation, problem-solving, and love for learning they taught him have given him a real edge, both socially and academically. If you're looking for teachers who are truly invested in your child's overall development and future, you'll find them here. We're so thankful for all the love, patience, and expertise they put into our son during such an important year.

"Application" process was easy and I did a virtual tour via FaceTime with Millie (one of the owners). She was super calm and answered every single question I had & showed me every nook and cranny or the school and where kiddo was going to be. PK2 here we come! 1st day I don't think it ever gets easier sending your kiddo to a new school. Kiddo was a touch apprehensive of a new environment but Teacher Nikki was so incredibly warm and welcoming to kiddo (and hubs and I)! Immediately I knew he was going to be just fine. We met Teacher Monique the next day or so - they coteach PK2 - and she's a gem. Both teachers are warm & caring (like aunties) and their love for teaching shines through! The classroom Together Monique & Nikki have created a thriving classroom full of areas to explore with defined spaces & boundaries. There a reading circle, pet fish, reading pod, and then nap mats for the kiddos to use after lunch before afternoon activities. If the kids don't nap they do have the option to read/look at books quietly. The PK2 classroom has two restrooms with kiddo sized toilets and sinks. Each season brings new decorations to the classroom (and school). There are days when kiddo is having a rough morning and both Teacher Nikki and Teacher Monique are angels getting him into class quickly, settled and then sharing with us that he's ok which I so appreciate because there's nothing worse than leaving your kiddo in tears! The school overall Goddard does a host of extra activities- summer bbq, Father's Day celebration, Trunk-or-Treat, holiday concert to name a few. Each brings the Goodard teachers & families together in a special way, along all to get to know each other a little better, enabling us partner for our kid's. Goddard is a pretty special place. One that is developing our kid in an amazing way and preparing him for kindergarten!

What I had noticed as a subbing teacher is the…read moredirty classrooms with exception to the Infant room and the room past the preschool on the left hand side of the building. All of the rooms require a deep cleaning of the furniture, the walls and the doors. The toys also needed to be cleaned. Dirt and filth covered the shelving units, with blotches of paint and stuck on food particles. The walls in some rooms need to be fixed because of large gouges. The mess on top of the cabinets are disgraceful. There is food up there with just garbage thrown up there. With some rooms it smells like the smell of poverty. Stink! There are rooms that have a wall clock. Then there are rooms that have a wall clock, but it's nonfunctional, meaning that no one has the mental acuity to place a new battery in it. So when I discovered this error I was late checking out of Goddard. I was told that I needed to clock out, but to ask Ms. Angie (director of operations and proficient gossiper). Ms. Angie admitted to me three times that it was an error on their part, but she still blamed me. This is a woman who refused me from having a small shoulder bag with my inhaler in it and my cough drops. I told her that I had asthma and I also suffered from seasonal allergies. She said that I could call her if I needed it. I am not carrying a cell phone with me into the classrooms. I do not know how to use the multi-line phone. So she is going to take away my ability to take care of myself. She did allow me to have my water bottle with me. But you know what I need my cough drops and I took those in my pocket. This is a far cry from my not following direction. This is a far cry from covering my ears because a child's scream pierced my eardrums. Ms. Angie has accused me of "sneaking up on her" when her back is towards the opening of the office door. Ms. Tracey has told Ms. Angie to tell me "where to go." Ms. Tracey thought that was a funny innuendo. Ms. Angie told her that that wasn't nice. That wasn't nice. The women who have worked in the office for a long time camouflage themselves behind the arrogance and unprofessional conduct of what junior high school girls would act like. There are some really good teachers who manage the classrooms. I have had the privilege of working with them. But Ms. Angie with her misaligned emotional immaturity rescinded me from returning. What that means to me is that she holds temps at a higher standard than she does her own staff.
