So he was there with them all day and when I called and to check on him , the vet came to the phone herself, not just the tech. All day there, fluids, blood panels, antibiotics, the whole deal and the pricing was really fair I am happy to report! Plus the front desk women is super nice and helpful as was the tech, so if I didn't live 12hrs away I would have kept them as a regular!

Despite expressing these genuine concerns, the explanations provided felt very dismissive, and I was left with the impression that my observations about my pet's condition was not taken seriously. Adding to my disappointment was the unexpected bill for urgent care I received. I had asked for the soonest appointment availability, and after being told a same day slot had opened up after somebody had canceled their appointment, I proceeded with bringing my pet in. To my surprise, I was later charged with an urgent care fee, which was never discussed or agreed upon prior to the visit. This unexpected charge felt unfair, especially given the circumstances of how the appointment came to be. While I understand that veterinary practices can be busy, the lack of empathy and communication has led me to reconsider my choice of veterinary care. Unfortunately, I cannot confidently recommend their services to others.

The cook and meet cutter are great. The horses and mules were fantastic and a joy to ride and be around. I am 77 years old and have been on many guided backcountry hunting trips. When booking a backcountry hunting trip you need to have realistic expectations as this is hunting and not a guaranteed kill. There are so many things that can happen at any time that can determine the outcome. On this hunt, we were battling Mother Nature. Our hunt was from November 10th through the 16th, 2024 which in a normal year would been hunting elk and deer migrating to their winter range in the snow. However, there was no snow up in the higher elevations and the animals had not begun their normal migration. We only had the local elk and deer to hunt. Travis and the guides were very honest with us about the situation which was totally out of their control. So the eight of us adjusted our hunt expectations to reality and hunted what was available. Our group did kill two elk and four deer during our six-day hunt and had many opportunities that were passed up in the hope of finding a bigger animal. That was their choice. We considered this hunt a success considering the main group of animals were still up high. Remember this is hunting and not killing. We were hunting from horseback and foot on USFS land and never saw any other hunters outside of our camp. Enough about the conditions. As I said, I am a 77 year old man in fairly good shape and had my limitations and chose to do a single guided hunt. The first night in camp before the hunt began my guide asked me about my hunting experience and expectations. I told my guide Brandon I have been on many guided and unguided backcountry hunts on horseback and foot. Also told him I might not be the fastest up the hill, but I would get there. The country we hunted was fairly steep and tested my OLD ASS on many occasions. I also told him that since the big bulls and deer were still up high I understood what I could expect to hunt. This is an either-sex elk area and I told him that unless I see a big elk I might draw down on a big cow. He understood and agreed. On the second day of the hunt, we found a nice group of about 30 elk within short range. There were several spikes and rag horns with a bunch of cows. He saw me set up on one of the rag horns and pull off to shoot a nice big cow instead. No problem with him and he understood. I have shot several nice bulls over 330 inches and good eating meat is more important to me. Earlier that day I had passed on a nice mature 4 X 4 whitetail. Getting an elk was my main priority. I had shootable animals every day of my hunt and ended my hunt on day four taking a nice mule deer buck. To me, I consider this a successful hunt and adapted my hunt to what I considered realistic. Maybe not the biggest animals I have shot, but I am happy! My younger daughter took a nice whitetail buck. My oldest granddaughter got a nice 4 X 4 mule deer. Another friend in our group shot a 6 X 6 bull elk and a smaller mule deer buck. Just remember when booking a backcountry hunt you are at the mercy of Mother Nature and things can happen that are out of your and the guide's control. HAPPY HUNTING Larry Shannon
