Overall not a good experience with Rockin Robin. He is very much a radio type of DJ and wanted to put on a show but that just wasn't the vibe of what we wanted for our wedding. The worst part though - He asked for a request list of songs that he could go off of to make his set list. When asked to get a preview of his set list, his response was "you'll have to trust me". That might be what is understood in the DJ world but when it came to the dancing music he played, I would have liked more of a say because it was not what we wanted to go for. So much so that no one really wanted to dance and at 8pm when I approached him with intentions to ask about what was going on with the playlist, he was not at his DJ stand but was playing with a fake animal toy around the children instead. He responded with "are y'all ready to dance?" - um YES! The whole point of having the DJ at a wedding is to have music to dance to. He began to play all of the songs we requested in a row instead of blending them with similar songs throughout the night. Later he told my now husband that the music we provided would only take up 45 minutes... if we needed to provide the whole playlist that's something we needed to know ahead of the event instead of "trusting him" to do his job. At that point in the night, neither of us wanted to dance and chose to socialize with our guests instead of participate in his less than what's considered good performance of DJing. I would not recommend him as a wedding DJ to anyone and would almost go so far as to actively warn people about this experience. read more

I recently used Rockin Robin DJs to DJ a "Let's Glow" Dance Social to celebrate students who earned an S in conduct at our school. It was even better than what I expected! It was more than just "playing music". He made the experience engaging, he customized the songs for the different grade levels, and he monitored the students' engagement and adjusted the music accordingly. Not only did the students have a blast, but the teachers and staff did, as well. He created an experienc that allowed our staff and students to build lasting relationships! Met Robin at a wedding show and before too long we booked his services for our wedding reception. He handled a lot of special requests with ease, including our family cooking up some special surprises for our final dance (we had requested Lionel Richie's "Truly" but my mom wanted to play it on the piano, with my brother on vocals, record it, and get it to Robin to play that version instead). We came back from our honeymoon to SEVERAL emails from family and friends talking about how much fun they had! The bottom line...it's your wedding and your day, but Robin has many years of experience doing this so he knows what typically works as a flow for the reception and what tends to get people involved. But he will do as little or lot as you want, but rest assured your guests will remember your event with a smile on their face! read more

Why would you ever use any other DJ service?? Rockin Robin is the best as it gets-- He takes control of the evening ( only if you want him to) and I wanted him to!! We had our Class Reunion at the Ferguson Community Center- he got there in plenty of time to set up, go over all of the details for the night, and be ready to greet all of our guest. He was the photographer, coordinater, and boss!! He kept all guests entertained and involved. Robin is a show in his self, but remembers what he is there for--- to satisfy YOU!!!! He will do anything that you need to make your night special-- I have known and used Robin for years-- he is the professional professional!!!! My husband and I had a one room Catholic Church wedding ceremony in Crawfordsville, Arkansas just outside Memphis, Sacred Heart of Jesus. I used Rockin Robins DJ company for my wedding on 11/14/15. I cannot say enough GREAT things about this business! One, the enthusiasm that Robin Knowles has for his line of work and for whatever event he is putting on, is phenomenal. He planned a meeting when I booked him (9 months prior to my wedding) for us to meet about 3 weeks before the wedding. This way I had the itinerary for my photographer, the venue, and the caterer pretty much mapped out by then. Therefore all I had to do was show up with a list of songs he had asked me to think about and we went through the entire event from the beginning to the end. I mean EVERY SECOND from before the ceremony till the driving away in our car was PLANNED. In fact, my venue's wedding coordinator told me how relieved she was when she heard we had asked Robin to be our DJ. She said "Heck you don't need me there at all!". We were so pleased with his enthusiasm, his assertiveness and the fact he actually LISTENED to me as a bride! My day went off without a hitch thanks to this man. He made everything perfect, called me the week of to see if there was anything he could do for me. Music related or not! He was there, and he genuinely meant that. His assistant, Eric, took pictures of the bridal party on the dance floor all night and was 100% informed and professional with my guests! Everyone LOVED our DJ! Rockin' Robin was an awesome DJ for my husband's 70th surprise birthday party. He interacted with the crowd and the skit that he set up for us to do brought the house down.
