It is always scary trying to find a new hair stylist, especially one who is awesome at color and cuts. I am so glad I found Jordan! She literally transformed my hair! I had crazy roots, brassy blonde, and no style to my hair at all. She listened to what I wanted and blew me away with the end result! My hair is stunning! I cannot believe how much I love it! My hair is thick but very fine so without a perm, it looks , well, not good. My previous stylist retired, and the perm we used for decades was discontinued. Kimber at Rockin Blondes found a perm that agreed with my hair and does a very complementary cut and perm that works for me. I walked in there today with brown streaky hair and walked out with beautiful perfect blonde hair. Very nice, clean salon, friendly atmosphere, they make sure your comfortable, I was offered water and the best part is it was only $65! By the way I drove all the way from Chula Vista , and I am so glad I did. I barely just got home and my neighbor saw my hair and told me she loved it. After a recommendation from a friend, I went and saw Nicole for a color correction. I had previously had my hair colored at another salon just a week prior, and they did a horrible bayalage even though it's not what I asked for. My hair turned orange and looked nothing like what I wanted. AND I still was charged an arm and leg for it. Nicole asked for photos of my current hair as well as what I wanted prior to my appointment. She gave me a more than fair quote as well. When I arrived, the staff was all very pleasant and the atmosphere was very fun (hot pink and zebra!) Nicole not only gave me amazing platinum, she tinted my natural brown bringing out the warmth. She also did all of it in about two hours! The transformation truly is amazing and I will be retuning to her from this point forward! It's worth the drive! I'm an avid Yelp user but this is my first time writing a review for anything, and it's well worth it!! My review is for a specific stylist at Rockin' Blondes, and i almost want to keep it a secret all to myself, but I'd love to help this blooming stylist out! (: Nicole is my hair stylist, and she did an AWESOME job coloring my hair in an ombre, teal-blue gradient. I regularly used to get my hair colored and cut by beauty school students, but this time I wanted to take it to the next step and get it professionally done - Nicole did just that! I have medium-dark brown, not-so-straight, crazy Asian hair, and yes, I'm jealous of all the stereotypical pin-straight Asian hair! I was worried about coloring my already damaged hair from everyday flat ironing, but Nicole reassured me that I'd be fine with the products she uses to work her magic. Not only am I in love with my new 'do, but I absolutely love how nice and generous she was with her time and care. The first go at my hair was pretty good, the vivid blue colors came out real nice and solid but the artist wasn't satisfied - Nicole totally saw everything through, and added color for a second time for just an extra 5 minutes. The results were AMAZING, and the color was so vibrant that we had to go outside and take photos of the beautiful gradients in my hair! Nicole catered to all my oddball coloring requests, used her super creative, artistic talents to spruce my ideas up, and had a professional yet fun approach to her creation. This girl obviously loves what she's doing, and you can't ask for a more enthusiastic stylist! No one wants a rushed, half-assed hair style or color, and you won't get that with her. She genuinely cared about the health of my hair before and after working on it, and didn't rush perfection. (I'm sure she would've sped things up if I had asked, but I had all the time in the world to get my hair perfectly colored for once!) SUPER recommend this girl for anyone looking for a fun, new look. I have been meaning to write this review since I got my hair done in November. I happened upon Nicole's Craigslist ad, and decided to give it a shot after doing some Yelp research. Nicole was very nice on the phone, I got a good vibe and convinced myself it wasn't weird at all that I was trusting someone from CL to cut and color my hair. I did have to drive a ways, but it was worth it. Nicole is awesome, we chit chatted while she was doing my hair. She did just what I asked. The salon has a great playlist, I was jammin out while getting my hair done. The décor of the salon is awesome zebra print and they also have a great selection of magazines to read while you're under the dryer. Very nice over the phone and was able to book my appointment for this week which is fabulous since I have an event to attend come Saturday... Late and notified Richelle right away and she was so sweet and understood with no problem. Keeping communication wasn't hard at all with Richelle and when I got to the salon Amy and Kimber were just as welcoming as she was. Greeted with a complimentary drink and great conversation. Time flew by so quick because we all were having fun! I will definitely be coming back, referring them to my family & friends and I hope this review would help many of you decide to check them out! Salon is great!! i love this place! HOWEVER... BEWARE of a hairstylist who moved to SOL SALON in Mira Mesa. MELONY B installed hair extensions and a week later I got lice. She didnt take any responsibility and said that there was absolutely nothing she could do about it. I had to do three treatments (including a pharmaceutical grade) and take out the extensions. She would not remove them or install them even when i offered to purchase the hair again (since I had to throw it out) .. I would not recommend her.. i dont want anybody to experience this!!! It was a horrible experience. The owner of the salon was so sweet to me when I told her about this. She offered to install my extensions for an extremely discounted rate since she felt so bad that I was dealing with lice. Even after the hairstylist left the salon!!!! Very professional! This review is long over due but so needed! I went to Casey to get my hair colored and was honestly blown away by the amazing job that she did! I had found her on Craigslist after having the girl who was supposed to do my hair cancel at the last possible moment-which turned out to be the best thing ever because I was able to find this amazing little gem! Casey took the time and really did my hair; she spent time on it and it shows-I don't know if I've ever had a better job OR have had my hair look this great after a month and a half before! I'm serious- in my quest to find someone who will listen to me when I say "no chunky highlights" and find someone who knows how to work with naturally curly hair I've paid hundreds of dollars (this might just be because I used to live in Palo Alto but still). When I came in she was worried that my hair was fried and refused to do all that I wanted because she didn't want to ruin my hair, turns out my hair is just curly and dry but the fact she told me no to save my hair and not damage it spoke a lot about her! The time flew and she was so much fun to work with and talk to, I can't wait until the next time I can come in and get my hair done! I found Casey by chance looking on CL. I found a lifesaver, she is an amazing stylist and deserves 6 stars. Not only did she go out of her way to accomodate my schedule but she also did a fantastic ombre and cut on me. I am so glad I found rocking blondes, it is all the way in lakeside, but totally worth the drive. Casey is the master at color theory, and she keeps record of all the products she uses once she has done, so that the next time she will know what not to put in your hair. Oh and cherry on top, this place is very affordable, totally worth the gas. Also they use good quality products like Pravana. I am so so so so happy with the results words cannot explain it enough. If Your trying to get the Blonde youve always been looking for whether its gold or white she can make it happen..shes only been doing this a few years so i was eary but she ended up doing a BETTER JOB then any Person or salon ive been to ever! Dont hesitate TACI is the greatest..all for $65.00 she Made me a Super Blonde (without bleach..all lightener..no burn) she deep conditioned styles and cut it all for just 65!! Kimber has been working miracles on my flat lifeless hair for over a year which started when a bad bleach job landed me in serious need of color correction (orange hair). I found Kimber in a desperate need of a fix, and despite being seriously concerned that my only hope was to either die my head black or shave it all off, she managed to not only correct the damage, but left no trace of any previous bad die jobs and I looked a million times better than normal. I havent left her side since. With over 20 years experience with color and color correction, Kimber works miracles. I have since brought in my gf, mother, and sister in to her and would recommend her to anyone. Not only is she a color specialist, but I trusted her with full confidence when I finally decided to be a little adventurous and chop my hair off for a more tailored look. A few hours later I was shopping in el cajon and got such a compliment on my cut that the woman called Kimber immediately to try and rush over on her lunchbreak. If you live anywhere even remotely in the area, Kimber is your gal for all your hair needs. She just opened this salon just off the 8 freeway and I know she is going to be a huge success as soon as people discover this new gem that just opened in town. read more

***DO NOT go to Hunter!*** ZERO STARS*** I made an appointment a MONTH prior to my visit and she cancels the night before and contacts me at 10pm (SO unprofessional), I was kind and asked for when I can come in next. It was my mistake to reschedule with her. The day of the rescheduled appointment, she cancels an hour before I'm suppose to meet with her, telling me she's run out of foils (unprepared). I then proceeded to come in the next day, as I sat in the chair I explain exactly what I wanted and showed pictures of the color I wanted. As she was working on my hair I asked her if she double booked me, and she admitted that she did (unorganized with her schedule booking). As she's doing my hair we chatted, and she barely left the foils in on my hair. She was more worried about looking at the clock then giving me good service. The foils were barely left on my head, before I knew it she was washing my hair out. Once I sat in the chair for my hair cut, as she's brushing my hair there was NO difference in my hair you could not even tell I got highlights put in my head as it was wet. As she's cutting/ blowing out my hair, she was more worried about going out drinking with friends and her boy friend that night then giving me a nice blow out (which I had to go over when I got home). I have never experienced someone rushing on my hair EVER. Once she blew out my hair I could tell there was NO difference and could barely see the "FULL Head of highlights" I had just asked for. It was getting late in the salon and I had asked if she could put a few more foils in another time, that she did not make me bright enough. She said she would and to make sure I keep contacting her to come back in (Instead of GOOD customer service where she should have scheduled me right then and there!) for all my trouble she barely gave me a discount AND had me Venmo pay her to scam the government as she's still collecting unemployment AND WORKING! 3 weeks later.... still no word from Hunter, until I decided to text her as the salon gave out her number. She completely disrespected me, ignored me for weeks after I paid for a full service and put words in my mouth. When i asked for a refund she went completely off on me and block my number as well as her instagram page because she knew she was wrong!! Hunter is unprofessional, disrespectful and unorganized. POOR customer service. I hope to hear from the owner of this salon. Don't waste your money seeing Hunter. read more

I was looking for a salon and this place had good reviews. I called and explained my hair and what I was looking for. I wasn't too sure and wanted some advice. I was greeted by name and felt very welcomed. After talking about what I wanted and what would look best, they got started right away. My hair feels and looks so much better! Kimber knows her stuff! They are reasonably priced, but a little on the high end. However, I was very happy with the results and great service. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I felt a little rushed to get my hair done and out the door. I understand that they didn't want me to have to be there all day, but I wish I could have relaxed a little more. Specifically, when they were styling, they had two people blow drying. I was even able to get a same day appointment on a Saturday! I have fine/thin hair and when I walked in I was a hot mess. My way too long "dirty blonde" hair always looked like a grown out die job. I rarely went anywhere without a hair tie. I am very conservative and cautious when it come to chemicals, products and styles. So needless to say, she had to work it.
