Dr. Lee was my dentist and I've never had so thorough an evaluation. Not only did he check a couple of teeth that I was concerned about, but he did something I've never had a dentist do before, which was checking my TMJ and to see if there was any malocclusion to my bite. I visited there for my daughter's teeth extraction for her braces. The staff members including the receptionist and dental assistant, were very kind. And Dr Kim was so skilled that my daughter didn't need to take the pain killers after the procedure. He thoroughly explained the whole procedure and aftercare. I've been hesitant to write this review because the staff were very kind to me, but I chose this office because of their online reviews so I feel I need to share my experience. They performed a cleaning with no problem. Afterwards I was told I had 3 cavities. When I arrived a week later to fix them, I was told it's now 4 cavities. They did their work and I went home. Later in the day I experienced sensitivity to water and food. I drove back to have the issue fixed. They tried to redo the filling 3 times, and I still said it was sensitive. Then they said they could place silver inside, which would never need to be changed. I was in pain and agreed to the procedure. Afterwards she said it wasn't successful and that I needed a root canal. The pain I experienced afterwards is the worst I've ever felt in my entire life. Pain that made me want to end my life. Unrelenting pain that wouldn't let me eat or drink anything. The next day I was asked if brushing my teeth fixed the pain. It started to feel condescending. I started taking ibuprofen and scheduled an emergency appt for a root canal. The specialist I saw took scans that showed no root canal was necessary. No cavity was visible. And here is where I felt incredibly hurt; the silver filling was placed with no sealant over the tooth, causing excessive sensitivity. The pain I was experiencing was expected to last past 3 weeks, yet I was being told it should go away quickly. I had them remove all the work done by Dr. Alvarenga and place their own filling. The pain was instantly lower. No cavity, but a very large hole into my tooth because of the prior work done. I have difficult teeth to work with, so if you are a simple case you will find this office perfect. If you come in for any dental filling please think twice. I paid $500 out of pocket to fix their work. I expected to pay thousands for a root canal. I lived in excruciating pain that this dentist's office told me would go away if I brushed enough, or took some pain pills for. I still have no root canal, only a damaged tooth with occasional sensitivity from the depth they drilled. read more

I have been seen for 2 routine cleanings over 2 years, exams and one filing in this Dental Office by Daisy Patricia Alvarenga. She employs several back staff whose native tongue is not English; one back office assist spoke mostly Arabic, the others were primarily Spanish as their primary language. I found Dr. Alvarenga's personality to be rough, abrasive and condescending. I was told I needed a Crown on a permanent tooth, she refused to provide services per my insurance provider. My insurance reimburses her totally for Stainless Steel and Resin. She refused to do the treatment and procedures and did not even reveal to me the choice of Resin. She was insistent on me paying $550 out of pocket for a porcelain crown, which of course is not covered by my plain. I am getting a second opinion from another local office and I have a feeling that the diagnosis was false and not accurate. Buyer beware. I would not recommend this office or doctor to anyone. Shop around. I documented 4 other Dentists diagnosis and all 4 said I did need my crown replaced period. One of the 4 said I simply needed to FLOSS BETTER. I REPORTED THIS DENTIST TO THE CALIFORNIA DENTAL BOARD AND MEDI CAL Fraud Board Dr Daisy is under investigation by the State of California is what the FRAUD DEPARTMENT TOLD ME OCTOBER 27 2017 The dentist was rude, spoke in Spanish in front of me to other office staff. She did not realize I understood every word. She claimed I need to come in more regularly (6 mos) because there was 'tatar buildup'. A true specialist that takes pride in her work and building professional relationships with all her clients. Dr. Alvarenga has been my dentist for many years and will continue to be. I commute from Huntington Beach without hesitation because I know the level of quality is always present in her practice. Her office is located in a small business plaza near the freeway. I wish I could put 10 stars instead of 5! I woke up this morning around 3:00 am and could not get back to bed due to a throbbing tooth ache. I knew It was my wisdom tooth that was acting up. I came in this morning and Dr Alvarenga was up front when I walked in and took me in Immediately after signing some paperwork. I am frightened of Dentist I am a 29 years old! Dr. Alvarenga has seen my kids for a few years now. She is always so friendly and caring. The Doctor is great with kids and always has a smile on her face. I have been able to schedule appointments for their cleanings fairly quickly. Their last appointment was scheduled within 2 days and she saw all 3 of my kids in 40 minutes! I honestly regret going to this dentist I thought because of the friendly atmosphere at first my children would be happy here but it turned out that the pain that she put us through including myself was so traumatizing my son that regretfully had braces put on there doesn't even want to go back there to have them removed at first I honestly believe that this place was a good place to go to but her work was very sloppy and painful. My entire family goes to Dr. Alvarenga, and while she is absolutely professional and amazingly gentle with me, she's even better with all of my kids. None of them are scared of going to see her, and from their positive experience, I know they will never have the same dental trauma I did as a kid, and will have a better understanding of oral hygiene as adults. One of the reasons I avoided the dentist so long as an adult was because of the horrific experiences I had growing up. If every Dentist was as good as Dr. Alvarenga, the world would be a better place. Her genuine, caring spirit comes through when you meet her, and as good leaders often are able to do, that spirit translates to all of her staff as well. I must say I have never been a fan of the Denist but when the pain from my wisdom tooth started I tried 3 different Denist and as they say 3rd time is a charm well i say it is more like the gift of my normal pain free life back not only did she explain that I had let this infection in my tooth determine my quality of my days but I was putting my entire mouth at risk .
