There are no reviews here for Millie and there really needs to be, so here goes! Story time: As a kid, I used to sob my heart out when I got a trim. That .56" of hair meant the world to me and aside from the sob, the sentiment hasn't changed. I am protective of my hair and used to forego much-needed haircuts in order to wait for whenever my hair cut lady would come back in town, roughly every 6 months. After doing this for ~2 years, I couldn't stand it anymore. In all of my Yelp-ing and Google-ing, this place kept popping up. I picked out promising reviews and called the salon with a few names in mind. A nerve-wracking feat in and of itself tbh, not to mention requesting a specific person. The woman who picked up was incredibly sweet and let me know that haircuts started at $55 depending on the stylist. She recommended Millie, a name I had not seen pop up in my research, but I was on the phone and I panicked so I cheerily agreed to an appointment with this mystery stylist. I didn't know what to expect during my appointment, but my anxiety and imagination had teamed up to anticipate the worst. Thankfully, it went so much better than I could've hoped! I felt comfortable asking for exactly what I wanted, we ended up having great conversation that didn't feel awkward or forced (which is a miracle tbh, come on), and I left super happy with my hair. Fast forward ~3 months later and I'm in need of a haircut again. I made the mistake of letting a family friend do it and immediately called to book an appointment with Millie again. Going into this second appointment I was worried she'd say there was no saving the hair (think little Dutch boy + mullet), BUT SHE FREAKING WORKED HER MAGIC. Millie walked me through the reality of the situation, my options, and she used this bomb as heck minty shampoo that I'd 10/10 buy at full price because damn. She also remembered who I was, so I didn't feel weird bridging from our last conversation and talking about anything Fall/Halloween related is always a huge plus in my book. Although I didn't want to lose any length after everything that had been slashed off, she cut just enough off and made it look so good that even my inner 7-year-old is happy with it. I may be used to paying $ for a haircut, but Millie is definitely worth the $$. TL;DR: Millie is freaking dope. She listens to what you want and comes through, doesn't make you feel bad when you ask for adjustments, and is overall such a delight to talk to. But you can also not talk and that's cool too, which is a huge 10/10 for socially awkward people like me. It took one less session than I expected, a lower price than I expected and I loved talking to Theresa. She's a perfectionist and she takes her time! For my very first appointment, I made it kind of in the spur of the moment and they happened to have an opening the next day but I was squeezed into a short time slot and I expected my service to feel rushed but it totally didn't feel that way at all! Rachel took her time and she wanted to make sure my hair was absolutely perfect. Hair Results: I LOVE my hair. Rachel makes sure that we don't do anything too drastic to keep the integrity of my hair since we both agreed that healthy hair is always the priority. Also, my ombré is just divine. I also wanted an updated style. While in the chair I wasn't completely sure, but Jen knew what she was doing, and encouraged me to trust her. When going to get my hair done, I always entrust my stylist to my latest cut. They are the artist and the expert. Kacie has given me some of the coolest and most flawless styles (cut and color) that I've ever had. My cuts are very short and require precision, and the color is difficult to achieve (naturally dark brown hair to platinum). She is a lot of fun when it comes to non-traditional color, too! Her strong focus on quality is refreshing and deeply appreciated by this client. I've never felt the need to micromanage her or "adjust" my cut the day after. Her cuts are perfection. In short, Kacie is amazing and, after a few months of going to her--that's around 3 or 4 cuts so far--I couldn't be happier. She's also a sweetheart. I only regret that it's taken me this long to find someone like her! The prices are mid-range for this area, so that makes her service a steal! Not to mention I feel like a "big boy" now that I get a real-life quality haircut! With that said, go see Rick Anthony--He's one of the nicest people I've ever met, and is damn talented with scissors in hand. Took my son to have his long curly hair cut. I had a hard time taking him since I love his thick curls, but it's what he wanted soo... I had read the reviews and requested Kitty, but she was booked so the girl at the front suggested Vanessa because she could take us immediately. Vanessa was so thoughtful. Aware of my reluctance to let my son cut his hair (he's 15 so I'd look pretty silly not letting him choose his hair style). For a visual he had shoulder length hair, with beautiful curls that he always got complements on. Vanessa understood that this was a big decision and talked quite a bit with him before she even picked up a scissor. It was clear that she wanted him to be happy with his cut and not regret his decision. She gave him a great cut and talked him through the reasons she was leaving it a bit longer than what he had requested. She wanted him to get used to it and told him to play with it for a week or two and to come back if he wanted more cut off (no charge). And their price was lower than Regis Salon in the Lakewood mall which my other son had been going to with a hit or miss with his cuts. Parking is easy. I look forward to having Vanessa revamp my look! Note: They accept credit cards, but only for the services. Tipping had to be in cash. Thankfully there was an ATM around the corner. read more

Purchased a Groupon deal for this salon, and was so glad I did. After reviewing the pictures, I liked Erin's long hair cuts the best. I have long ethnic hair (Mexican/Japanese/French/Nat.Amer).... so there's a lot of weird stuff that happens when people think they are going to cut it a certain way. I showed Erin some pictures, and explained where to do this and that. She listened patiently, and then did her thing. By far the best hair cut I've had in a long time. I have been going to Julee (the owner) of Rocket Science for 16 years; she is the Yoda of hair dressing!!! I tell her what I want and she always exceeds my expectations, every time. Since I am not a hair dresser, I tell her what I am going for and ask for her thoughts and suggestions, I cannot go anywhere without getting complimented on my hair. She recently gave me the Brazilian Blow Out and I was reluctant at first, but she explained it to me in detail and was 100% correct, now it only takes me 30 mins to do my hair, as opposed to an hour and a half. (She actually remembered from my visit 3 months ago that I have sensitive skin so I can't use a lot of product in my hair! I was so blown away.) She then made suggestions and showed me how much length she was going to cut. - Her assistant gave a great scalp massage and didn't get any water down my neck/back which seems to always happen to me. - Julee then cut off exactly what she said she would (not too much, not too little), then dried & styled my hair. (I like my hair long and unfortunately my hair has started to thin out, she taught me a cool trick on how to add volume to my roots without using product!) She gave me chin-length bangs and nice long layers to help lighten the load at my crown and to give my hair more texture and body. I love my new cut!!! It was easy to use the coupon and I didn't get treated any differently because I had a coupon! Erin was my stylist and she did a fantastic job!
