Jonathan and his partner Jordan are crooks. They promise to a job, sign a contract and take money and never see either of them again. Jordan was a sales person for MNRC, a construction contactor based out of Minnesota. He redirected business away from them to the point the corporation closed the Omaha location. Always lying, never returning phone calls and always an excuse. Tried small claims but the sheriff was unable to locate them twice. Lawyer said not enough money for them to take a case. Police said since there is a contract involved there was nothing they could do. Don't ever trust either one of these crooks to do anything they say they will. Liars. ZERO stars!! Jonathan Cox started a simple patio stain project for us. In conjunction with a con man Jordan Dickson of SmartMatch Construction Co. Jonathan didn't have the know how, right equipment, or intent to do the job on time . Or to even finish the small project at all.We paid him $1000 up front , which was a mistake on my part. Never saw him , giving me every excuse in the world. Finally I told him I would accept a refund of $500 he agreed, but he lied and I have never seen it. I regret the day I hired cox and Dickson. My family has been working with Jonathan Cox with Rocket Renovations/Smart Match Construction on a renovation project for our dining room and kitchen. He was suppose to redo the flooring and paint the walls in the dining room. He was also suppose to redo the cabinets, countertops, tear down wallpaper, paint the kitchen, and put new flooring down in the kitchen. We were quoted to pay a little over $8000 in labor up front, which we did. We paid for all of the supplies out of pocket, and so far as of 5/06/2025, he has only completed the dining room (flooring and walls) and placed lower cabinets in the kitchen. He has yet to tear down wallpaper, repaint the kitchen, measure/install the countertops, and finish the cabinets in the kitchen. We picked up the corner cabinet from Menards on 4/08/2025. That same day, we texted him saying it was in and when would he be able to come and finish the renovation. Since then, we have texted and called numerous times asking him when he would be able to come back out to finish the job. He keeps on saying "let me check my schedule" or "I will get back to you". He claims he is very busy, but why would you take this job THREE MONTHS AGO if you were sooooo busy... Typically, in business, you finish a job you have already started before taking a new job. Now we are almost a month later, and we have yet to hear of a date for when he will be back out. Before we were waiting for the corner cabinet to be ordered, he would set a date for when he would come out and then cancel the evening before or just not show up at all. Keep in mind, we have dogs that we board on the days he is suppose to come out for his convenience and his work. It is not cheap, and it is upsetting when he cancels with very short notice, not once, not twice, but MANY MANY times. We paid him the labor upfront back in early February 2025 (2/04/2025), and we are going on THREE MONTHS now. Yes, we have had a delay in the corner cabinet being ordered, but once we had it, he has pushed us back many times. Jonathan has been the reason why this renovation is still unfinished (50% done), and has been going on for over three months. If you hire Jonathan for your job, just know that he does not care about completing it. It could take over three months just to get halfway. We are currently pursuing legal action, but I HIGHLY recommend going with a different contractor. read more
