My mailbox was on a wooden post that was failing and had been hit by a truck so the red flag didn't work anymore and the door to the mailbox was dented pretty bad. It was ugly. It was also leaning towards the street and I'm sure it would just fall over in the next high winds. My new mailbox was installed on a sturdy metal post and looks absolutely amazing!
