I read a lot and a few years ago my wife dropped the hammer on my book buying because my bookshelves were ridiculous...and since then, when I buy a book, it really has to be something I want because it has to fit on the bookshelf to buy it...or a book has to get donated to make room (full disclosure, we donate a LOT of books each year). Thus my new-found love for the library. Not like I didn't know it was there, duh, I had just drifted from its wonders. Growing up, I used to bring home piles of books from our public libraries in Piscataway and the public libraries here in Parsippany have become a similar sanctum for the kids, at least my son who reads as much as I do. I was really glad when they moved to this new location. When they moved they modernized everything and they have great spaces, study rooms, an awesome kids area, lots of public access computers, and a great selection of books...and the best thing about the Morris County Library system is that if your local library doesn't have a book you want, and another library does, they'll get it for you. Thanks for helping to instill a love of reading to my kids...

Ok, full disclosure. I Love libraries. LOVE them. The first thing I do when I move to a new place…read moreis to get a library card. And the Parsippany Public library is my favorite. I can definitely say that this place had an significant hand in shaping the person I am today. Not only did I read like a fiend when I was younger (31 Babysitter's Club in 30 days), I participated in all the summer reading clubs, I volunteered with them the day I was old enough, my first job was here and I was one of the original members of the Teen Advisory Board, which has sadly dissipated. In short, LOTS of opportunities to get your kids involved at an early age. When they made the shift to the new location, I was like a kid in a candy store. The old location was cozy, but new location is SO spacious. Especially the children's section (though I heard it suffered some water damage). The librarians were kooky, but awesome. Really helpful and knowledgeable. The selection is great. I really like their travel section. The study spaces are awesome, though I wouldn't mind some more cubicle spaces. There's little nooks and crannies to sit down and enjoy a good book all around. The programming here is some of the best I've seen anywhere. I hope this place stays just as awesome so I can bring my kids here someday.

E=Books, autobooks, DVD movies, sheet music, film resources, WiFi, computers, 500+ continuing educational and personal development courses both self-paced and instructor led, as well as, a large children's section. My favorite part of the library is the online access to 7,000+ online newspapers and magazines. The worldwide selection of the top newspapers from around the the world is an indispensable resource for me. I also find my favorite periodicals as well, like Scientific American. Science News, Smithsonian, National Geographic and Discovery magazine. You can have most of their materials shipped to your local library which can be very convenient. Download their cloud library app for further offerings.

There are activities for kids and teens and adults, and learning programs for the community. I am looking forward to sign up their book club this Summer. Starbucks may have amazing coffee, but you can't really work there comfortably if you have a call or just need to focus... so grab your drink and head over to the library you won't be disappointed!! This was a wonderful and well needed discovery. I was hustling back from the Newark Airport but couldn't get to my lodging back in time for a 10am scheduled call and just popping into Starbucks was just not feasible to have this call. So, I figured hit a library! Ugh, the challenge was on! I tried to pop into Denville library but of course there was yard work going on and they don't have any private study space and you can't be on a call/talking... and to add to my challenges... was down to 7% battery life on my computer for a 90 minute call... (Murphy's law has nothing on me) but thanks to an amazing Denville librarian workers mentioned Wharton offers this awesome setup so I had to check it out and could not be more surprised and appreciative for this life saving setup! Shout out to Denville for knowing about this and HUGE PROPS to Wharton municipality to putting this setup together! More municipalities need to consider this and follow Wharton's initiative! This is great even with this "Living with Covid and the new normal" it offers people to socially distance, be outside, be productive (by getting online) and also some quiet space, all the while not disrupting or adding more pressure to structural constricts of nothing having more space within the library building. Hats off to whoever thought of this solution! You rock!!! Also the library has ample parking and is a quick walk to other businesses on Main Street... so bring on the walk traffic... lots of close by eateries and shops! Wharton, NJ has top billing in my humble opinion!

The building, described as a "collegiate Gothic style" makes the library feel significant. The librarian gave us a brochure with the notable works through the museum, which was handy. We came for the Thomas Nast painting, but we wanted around to the giant eagle sculpture from a WWI armory and the stained glass with initials from famous authors. It was like a scavenger hunt. The space is nice if one needs to get out the house to read or use a computer, and obviously they have the standard books, CDs, and DVDs. But as a space, it's very nice.

It's housed in a gorgeous old stone building with a large, bright new addition. I strongly prefer a book with real paper pages over a device. My bookshelves were full years ago so I finally decided to borrow and return instead of stuffing my place further. This means I'm in the Morristown library almost every week, usually for books but occasionally for movies and music. This library's a member of the Morris County library network so it's easy to borrow from any library's holdings, which means you can get quite a lot. Not everything under the sun, but a large variety for sure. Yes there's free wi-fi and free power. If you don't have a laptop, they also have networked computers which are also free. You must have a library card to use the computers, which you can get at no cost by showing ID that proves you are a local resident. The library offers meeting rooms for community organizations, not sure of the cost. Homeless people definitely can be seen here. They've never bothered me, for what that's worth. I wonder if modern library school teaches how to handle this challenge, it must be difficult. @Benjamin M - the library reopened early 2012 after repairs from the 2010 explosion were finally complete, and the scaffolding that's up in Jan 2013 is for new stone rehab work. Yelps page needs to mention that Summer hours are abbreviated - short hours on Saturday and closed on Sundays.

For a local town library this checks off all of the boxes. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a large children's section and everything is well-organized and clean. In addition to books there are some other things to occupy the kids like a dollhouse and a train. They also have events for kids like story time (outdoors in the summer) and crafts. In the winter there is a great hill to go sledding. Happy to have this library nearby and I'm sure we'll be in often, especially now that my 3.5 year old is a proud library card holder.

As of the 2010 Census there were over 18,000 people residing in Dover. There are 11 parks and Recreation Centers here and I'm proud to say that I've been to them all. The Community of Dover is centered around Blackwell Street and Features many Restaurants and Eateries primarily owned and run by Hispanics of various countries, offering their delicious ethnic foods. Haven't been to them all but I'm working on it. Dover is where Metallica performed their first show with lead guitarist Kirk Hammet. Yup I was there. The climactic scene of the movie 'the Wrestler' was filmed at the Baker Theater. Dover is referenced several times in the Soprano's. The Famous Cartoonist Joe Kubert (1926-2012) and Founder of the Joe Kubert School of Art. Along with his two sons Adam and Andy who are also Famous Cartoonists. Paula Kassell founder of New Directions for Women graced Dover (1917-2012) Sherry Ross color commentator for the N.J. Devils was born here. Joseph Kekuku (1874-1932) inventor of the Steel Guitar. And then there's Me, Bill 'the Grill' hey I still have plenty of time to become Famous, ya Never know. Peace and Love.

I tend to take a lot of books out of our public libraries, but this isn't my favorite location of the three we have in town. The place could use a bit of a renovation...and a bigger selection of books and other media. In fact, unless I know they have a book that I 'need' I don't really go over to this location anymore. It's ok, it's convenient for this part of town, but I tend of go to the main branch-just easier to get to, better parking, and obviously a greater selection.
