If I could find one of these closer to home, I might even give them a higher score. Note that they…read morehave a pickup service which I did not use, so I can't tell you how effective and timely they are. But if you have one of those items that have been deemed necessary for recycling, this place will take care of it properly for you for only $20 per item. I recently tried taking my old, defective large screen to a Best Buy, but was told it was too large for them. No explanation other than that. So, after trying to contact several other waste management/recyclers in the metro area and not getting any return phone calls, I found this place on Indy's east side that opened at 9 a.m. on Monday. I called ahead to make sure they were open and that the large screen wasn't too large. They said to come on over. When I got there, I went inside and paid my $20 fee and went to the dock they said to use. We pulled our vehicle up to the dock and one of their workers hopped down and unloaded the large television by himself and carried it to the dock for us. No sweat or effort needed by me. They even disposed of an old dvd player for free! Note that this place isn't the easiest to spot. If you are familiar with the east side, there is a large lake for a business that was called "Just Add Water" that used to have a lighthouse and let you try out different small boats before purchase. It is easily visible from I-465 just south of Washington Street. Franklin is the first street east of 465 on Washington. Just drive south 3 blocks on Franklin and when you see the lake on your west side of the road, look over to the east side. The sign out by the street says "Tradition Warehouse & Logistics". Pull into the parking lot on the south side of the building and head east. You will see some loading docks and a sign that is with a "TR" and Technology Recyclers. That is the office where you climb a few stairs and tell them what you want to have recycled. Once you pay, they tell you which dock to go to and send one of their gentlemen to unload your equipment. We just had the television, so we paid $20. Any additional tv's, laptops, or monitors would also be charged the same disposal rate. I am not sure if they have any restrictions on electronics or not and how much lead time you need to give when ordering pickup, but if those run as smoothly as the drop off, they might earn that 5th star! I went with my son to Asset Recycling yesterday to purchase a couple things he needed. I honestly…read morehave no idea how people find things here without an employee. Items are organized but nevertheless it took a bit of time to locate what we needed. Asset Recycling houses over 30,000 square feet of new and ready-to-use resources. My son has been here often so he's becoming familiar with certain areas and found what he wanted. I, on the other hand, was overwhelmed. Asset Recycling is a division of Youth Fair Chance, Inc., and in operation since April of 2003. They are a non-proft organization who works to divert usable building materials from landfills while offering donors all allowable tax incentives for their contributions. The charity's focus is to provide today's youth with a fair chance for a safer and more environmentally friendly future by eliminating usable building materials from landfills.  It provides neighborhoods and individuals, especially the ill, needy, and youth, new and affordable building materials for home projects. While the Asset Recycling warehouse primarily contains windows, doors, paint, plumbing supplies, flooring, and lighting, you can also count on finding interesting deals, arts and crafts items, holiday and party supplies, home decorating items, fabrics, and more. Asset Recycling is open to the public with a focus on serving those most in need of assistance with safe and affordable housing.  Inventory changes often, so frequent visits are encouraged. Asset Recycling is located on Holt Road with entrance and parking in the very back of the building. Stop in when you're in search of building supplies and have some time.
