I needed a root canal and was referred to Sage Endodontics. I've never had this type of dental…read morework performed on me before, but I have a vivid memory of my mother crying after she had a root canal some 50 years ago. After reading other reviews that all indicated how quick and relatively pain free this procedure was at Sage Endododontics, and reminding myself I've had two total knee replacements, with months of pain, I assured myself that this wasn't going to be too bad. I was still nervous about it. I shouldn't have been. From the time I called for an appointment to the actual root canal, everything went smoothly. The staff couldn't have been nicer, or the process easier. When I called for the appointment I was told since I had no dental insurance that the cost would be $1700 and that was all inclusive. I arrived early, and was told that the person scheduled before me never showed up, so I was taken earlier than my appointment time. First, they took some x-rays in the chair, and then led me to an adjacent room where they took 360 degree x-rays. I returned to the chair and the assistant put the x-rays on a small illuminated viewer for Dr. Corretjer to review. (They referred to her by her middle name, Dr. Garcia). She came in a few minutes later and looked at the x-rays and asked me if I had any questions. I only had one, "How long will the procedure take?" She said, "About 20 minutes." Amazing! I was offered a blanket, which I accepted, as well as watching Netflix or the HG channel while the procedure was done. I decided just to close my eyes and try to relax while it happened. I was told by the assistant that if I felt any pain to raise my hand, and if I needed them to suction any excess salava to raise my index finger. During the root canal I didn't have either of those things happen. They put what looked like dark sunglasses over my regular glasses and then Dr. Garcia applied some numbing gel to my gums. Then she injected the local anesthetic in 3 spots around the affected tooth. Even the injections were about half the pain I remembered having when I had a crown installed years ago. My root canal only took 20 minutes as predicted by Dr. Garcia. Other than the numbing injections, it was completely painless. When it was done, they took a few more x-rays in the chair, and that was that. I was given a sheet of post operative instructions, and told I could return in a year for a complimentary follow-up exam. I was directed to contact my dentist to have a permanent filling put in within 2-4 weeks. If you need a root canal I highly recommend Sage Endodontics as the place to have it done. I had a five star experience there.

New job, new insurance, new dentist…read more I stumbled upon this practice from here (big surprise) and took a deep dive to research about the facility, the employees, the stars. I thought what a lovely looking group of people. It didn't hurt that it's right down the road from where I live so I could pop on over right after work. I will admit that I got a bit lost, but that's because there's like an island with a building (which is where I thought it was) but it was actually across the road attached to a parking garage with a ton of suites. I finally found them on the second floor! I was greeted by Amber who was so lovely, very personable, and so sweet. I honestly felt like she was a girlfriend and we were just missing drinks in our hands. Now, I am not the biggest fan of dentist appointments, but Amber made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. She was fun, but also thorough in taking my x-rays, explaining what was going on, and what we needed to do during my visit. She had a game plan and there was something I needed done that I wasn't a fan of, but she had an alternative suggestion that worked WONDERS so I'm very very grateful that she worked with me and what I was comfortable with. Most dentists have had "this is how it has to be done" mentalities so this place was a breath of fresh air! Mary. What a woman. She came in, took a gander and was spouting off tooth numbers, what needed to be done or what was good, but never made me feel like she was trying to rush me out to get home to her kids. Again, thorough, personable, and I felt pretty good about myself when she complimented my handwriting. (little did she know I was rushing) p.s. Amber is a saint and should get a bonus for that thing she did with the system that powers all the dental equipment and for attempting to use the scanner for insurance cards ;) It's about 4 hours after a procedure and I feel GREAT. I'm so glad I found these wonderful ladies! See you next week!

I saw Dr Smith for the first time today. She, and her staff, are so professional and thoughtful…read more My dentist of 30 years retired and I believe I've found a great new group.

BEWARE of Insurance Charges, I only gave this one star because the staff was so nice and…read moreaccommodating. I had 2 insurances and one of the insurances was going to end at the end of November. I had one root canal that needed to be redone and I wanted to make sure that I completed this before one of the insurances canceled. They should have been able to submit to both insurances and my payment would have been minimal. I had another root canal that also had to be redone right after this one and I knew that I would receive bill for the 2nd one in full. The day I walked out at the end of November, I asked specifically to the Dr. Maher and the receptionist (for billing purposes) that they had completed the first redo of the root canal in it's entirety and they both said YES, then I asked do you need anything more from me and they said NO. A few days into December I came in for the 2nd one to have redone. I received a bill 3 months later stating that nothing had been submitted in November due to the first redo was not done until December. I called them and stated that I asked Dr. Maher personally that he had everything done and needed to finish billing the insurance in November and said that he agreed. The billing person stated that the tooth was not done until December (they can't bill until the tooth is completed). I was devastated after asking personally about this and receiving over a $1000 bill for something that I should have only received about half. I could not believe it! Make sure you get anything in writing from them, as a conversation meant nothing.
