I was so excited to get a spot here over Memorial weekend. Rock Crossing is the only organized campsite near Blue Ridge Reservoir. Blue Ridge Reservoir (or C.C. Cragin) is this amazing hidden gem in Happy Jack that is popular with canoers, kayakers, and fishermen. The campground is about two miles from the reservoir. Rock Crossing is comprised of 31 individual family sites and two double sites. Each site can accommodate up to 8 people and is good for both tent and trailer camping. I booked my site ahead of time on recreation.gov. The campground provides fire rings, toilets, cooking grills, drinking water, bear food storage lockers, and picnic tables. The surrounding area is so beautiful and has ponderosa pine and oak trees all around. You also get some great views of the Mogollon Rim. It's pretty quiet here in the evenings and the stars shine bright because there are no major cities around. We tent camped and had a great time grilling and kayaking at Blue Ridge. Book early as the sites fill up quick! read more

A hidden gem. Great site, easy to get to, clean, spacious, allows pets. The staff seems to be volunteers and are super friendly and nice. This will be a repeat spot to camp at. Highly recommend for at least a 3 night stay. There are plenty of places to hike to, or drive to if you want to see some water. read more

Rock Crossing Campground is located a couple miles in on the road into the beautiful Blue Ridge Reservoir. The campground is super well maintained by the volunteer hosts. They have 34 single sites, 2 double sits, all with tables, fire rings (not allowed when we were there) and cooking grills. They have water and toilets (vault style), that the hosts kept super clean. A couple of the sites over look the canyon with gorgeous views. The campground is surrounded by woods and was a quick way to get to the Blue Ridge Reservoir for a little canoeing, fishing etc. Our kids loved it, canoeing, swimming (a little cold) but a refreshing change. The price was right at $8 per night, you can't beat it. read more

Located in the beautiful land of Happy Jack, about 7000ft in elevation. The campsite we used was a double campground and provided a lot of room for 3 full size trucks, a utility trailer, UTV, dirt bike, and even a travel trailer. Lots of clean bathrooms in the campground and water spickets. Located a couple miles away from blue ridge reservoir and minutes away from off road trails. Would highly recommend for anybody wanting to get away up north. Each campground had spots for a tent, picnic tables, a metal bear safe (to keep food locked up) and parking for your vehicle. I usually don't use campgrounds while camping but this one was very impressive. Went during the week and was very quiet, also no reservations. read more

My fiancé and I love camping at Rock Crossing Campground. It's only about 1.5 hours from Flagstaff, an easy drive and Blue Ridge Reservoir is just a short drive away. The volunteer hosts are always fantastic, and are very detail-oriented in keeping the campground clean. The ones who are there as of this review even raked patterns into the campsites! The area also has a lot of hummingbirds around, and it's so much fun to see them wiz by. Overall, it's a great campsite to go for one night or even longer. read more
