Saw Rock and Seoul for the first time at various Instagram posts from IGers I follow. Got curious so I tried it. I love bibimbap, I love making it, and eating it. It is a simple Korean-style fried rice that also acts as a complete meal. It just opened for a weeks and located opposite of SM Hypermart.
I like the variety of the bibimbaps they serve. Being not able to eat beef, I was glad they offer other proteins like seafood, pork, chicken, and even tofu. I ordered the fried chicken bibimbap. It is served on a sizzling plate, keeping everything hot for a long time. The chicken was very tender and the dish is fragrant. I was also glad the serving of their protein is enough for the rice. The combination is just perfect. Don't worry if you don't eat spicy, they have none spicy, medium, and spicy sauces.
For adventurous eaters, they also offer customized bibimbaps. For only P290, you can choose 1 kind of meat, 4 kinds pf vegetables, and your sauce. Mixing and matching ingredients create a new flavor everytime so you won't easily get tired of just one kind of bibimbap.
Being different, they also offer fusion style bibimbap of their own creations. Some examples are American with the use of bacon, Mexican with tortillas, corn, and jalapeno, among others.
Aside from bibimbap, they have snacks and salads as well. I ordered their chapchae. I love the use of fresh ingredients especially mushrooms, but it did not work for me. For me, the dish was too oily, and the noodles were tougher than normal, it was hard to chew. The dish is colorful though.
Excited to come back and try the customized versions, but won't be ordering the chapchae again. read more
