    Downtown Rochester

Review #515 FIRST TO REVIEW…read more Sunday May, 4, 2025 So Glad to See this fairly new structure for extra parking here in Rochester! I cruised in from Main St to the West Parking Ramp entrance and parked on Level 2. It was conveniently useful since it was nearby for dinner at D'Marcos Italian Restaurant on a busy Good Friday night. Downtown Rochester Michigan offers more than 350 shops, restaurants, salons and profession businesses. The city also has abundant green space that offer two parks for nature walking. The City of Rochester offers two private parking decks providing 532 parking spaces, 700 metered parking spaces, street parking within downtown. Residents, travelers orvfrequent visitors can park anywhere legal to enjoy a leisure day, afternoon or dining evening in the heart of Rochester Free or Cheap Rates and even overnight! :-) Parking Information: East Parking Platform - 415 East St. West Parking 406-414 Walnut Blvd. (24 Hours) 431 S. Main St. Rochester, MI. 48307 - (248) 656-0060 info@downtownrochestermi.com *Note : I attached a photo of The Parking Key Map with different colors represents on street or alley parking by meter. Then Off Street parking. Garage Platform parking structure is FREE first hour then $1.25 after per hour. Purple areas designate FREE parking. So Map it before You Park It! :-) This Platform structure parking is close to D'Marco's , O'Connor's Public House, Rochester Brunch House, The Meeting House and Rochester Bistro. :-) * My suggestion: Print out the map and keep handy in your vehicle or screen shot a copy to your phone when ready to visit the City of Rochester this year for all Occasions when visiting Rochester in All Seasons! The levels here at the Parking Platform have easy to read signs for entering and exiting the structure along with stairs or elevators to travel to your vehicle and especially to the rocking fun local streets. There was a sign on the way out for A Market plus shopping coming soon inside the parking structure on roof. Sincerely, Karen N. Macomb, MI. :-)

Also Known as Pine Grove Historical Museum, it is run by the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical…read moreSociety whose goal is the "Preservation of the Past for the Enrichment of Future Generations." It is a non-profit organization, always looking for a helping hand. They were closed the other day when I visited. This location is run solely by volunteers, and had no signs with hours of operation. Ah, but during my visit, a couple of the volunteers happened to stop by and gave me information about the organization. I took a brief walk around the well manicured grounds and found that they have a farm museum, carriage house, root cellar, smoke house, summer kitchen, school house and of course, the Wisner Mansion. While I was there, I shot a picture of the historical marker which is prominently displayed close to the roadway. Their next big event is an Ice Cream Social on 26 JUL 2014 and it promises to be a great time. Hours of operation are 11am - 4pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, library included. Group tours are scheduled in advance. I see it's been a little slow here in updating info, so contact Sara at 248-338-6732 or office@ocphs.org with any questions or to RSVP. Web site: www.ocphs.org. As time went by, and fewer people met the eligibility requirements, membership was opened to the descendants of pioneers and other residents of the county. Throughout the 19th and 20th century, the Society collected newspapers, books, photographs, manuscripts, and artifacts relating to Oakland County, and the collections were stored in the county courthouse in downtown Pontiac. In 1945 Pine Grove, the Pontiac homestead of Governor Moses Wisner, was purchased as a headquarters for the Society. In 1962 the organization was renamed the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society. As part of our mission, the Society continues to devote itself to the preservation of the history and culture of Oakland County, and to maintaining the Pine Grove estate.
