Cannot have a gathering at any restaurants in Royal oak because people are either late or they can't find parking at all. Especially Thursday through Saturday. The last time we had a family get together 6 out of 10 people got a ticket. Most people I know will not go to restaurants or shops in Royal Oak because every time thay go there they get a parking ticket. The app you pay your parking with some people find confusing and frustrating. When you place a carry out for food on line they require pre payment. If there are no spots available you end up walking a long distance just to pick up your carry out food. By the time you get it home it's cold. Does Royal Oak City planners realize that's the reason restaurants either go out of business or move to a different location. This issue is not only for South Lafayette parking structure but also for every parking structure & parking lot location in Royal Oak.

I think they have free parking now for the first two hours in all of the garages in Royal Oak, that helps. It's better to be safe in a structure, been on the street and trying to keep track of time. It does help with the apps now, but I prefer to put my car in a structure I feel like this is a good out-of-the-way spot if you're going to any restaurants, shops or whatever between fourth Street and seventh Street. It's also not far from the theater and from the salons on sixth Street. It is also a manageable size of a structure, since it's not as big as the one on Washington or on main street. There aren't as many floors and it's not as wide of a structure either. I feel like you can get in and out pretty quickly.

They can get books you request in a pretty timely matter, are linked to other libraries to fill requests for popular or difficult to find titles. I visit at least a couple times a month and am in two book clubs. They also host making events and artists. Can't say enough good things. Love this place.

What I really love about this library is that it's an a suer convenient location that is waking distance from a lot of great bakeries and restaurants in Ferndale. The library itself is quiet but not to a deafening degree. There's some light chatter and it gets a lot of sunlight which is also a plus. The staff is super friendly and there are plenty of computers and seating available. They also have a kids corner with books, games, and other activities to keep kids occupied. I also love that there's a lot of different seating options with spacious countertops for work and individual seating if you want to study alone. Highly recommend getting some work done here or just stopping by to dig into a good book !

My first encounter was by fb messenger asking if they carried any and they got back to me almost right away. When I visited the staff was extremely helpful with getting the items I needed. The experience overall was fantastic from start to finish and the women that helped me gave me even more suggestions of places to go in the area to track down more about my families history.
