I recently visited Rochela for the first time with a Colombian friend who likes it. I'm not new to Colombian food, but I did try some new dishes and drinks, and I was not disappointed. The bandeja paisa was huge and everything was delicious, and the sancocho (soup with meat, plantains, avocado, and rice) was perfect for a chilly autumn day. I drank my coconut juice in about 2 minutes.
We went on a Sunday afternoon with a reservation-- it was packed, so I would recommend a reservation, especially on a weekend. Despite the amount of people, service was pretty fast and attentive, even with several large groups (including our own) in the restaurant. They also had really nice live music that day, which was definitely an added bonus! They weren't too loud but added to the atmosphere. read more
