When clients were transferred to Corewood from another provider there was no organized support offered and no significant changes to the disorganization and lack of follow up in sight. It became too difficult to reach anyone, to get clarity on procedures or figure out forms that weren't working, and then also finding billing errors and getting shifted around or given wrong information. I felt on my own and as if Corewood never saw these things as real problems. They had many reasons & explanations which I understood at the time, but I got tired of trying to accept struggling on my own to get simple things you would need and that you are paying for.

I was feeling too sick to try to sit in an ER and the house call from him saved the day and the entire trip. He took a careful medical history, and spent the time to listen as well as inform us of the diagnosis and the options. He prescribed the ear drops and medication that ensured I felt better within a few hours so that I was able to be present for our daughter and heal. Danielle S was very nice, and I would be happy for her to come again. It sounds like she has good experience for the role. We had one incident where she took out 3 colors of play dough and was making shapes with the stamps......... ON THE CARPET. She didn't realize she was creating the marks (leaving play dough stuck in the carpet) and didn't realize it was a carpet (she said she thought it was a play mat). I think we all make mistakes. She apologized. She didn't blame my son. He has never done play dough anywhere on the floor or carpet, and never used more than one color. I read on the internet that one needs to wait for it to dry before trying to remove it. I contacted the company later that day and very politely asked "what are we going to do about it if it doesn't come off?" The admin lady blamed my child knowing nothing about the situation. She said the kid probably told her to do it... and more blaming things, which were completely not true. She said she would speak to a supervisor and get back to me. She, nor anyone did get back with me. That's very unprofessional with not covering for your employee's mistake, and getting back to me.

My father was discharged to this facility from the hospital to physically recover from a bad…read moreinfection. Instead, he left with a large infected wound that is still affecting him today. Not only did they cause him to develop a large sacral wound, by allowing him to lay on his butt for 3 straight weeks without turning him, but they failed to document it and notify me about it too. It took an in-home nurse to identify the wound the morning after he was discharged for us to find out about it. By that time, it was already a stage 3 wound. I reported this to their case worker and manager immediately; to date, nothing has been done to assist our family. I am considering a lawsuit against them, because this was only one aspect of the negligence. The staff neglected my father daily in terms of his hygiene. He went 2 weeks without his teeth being brushed. They never washed his clothes, never groomed his face, didn't expose him to fresh air, and did not respond to his requests to be transferred from his wheelchair to the bed for hours. A few of their staff were welcoming and hard working, but most of them were lazy and had bad bedside manner. They seemed to hate their jobs and preffered to group up at the desk to talk to each other instead of giving attention to their residents. Also, the facility constant reeked of urine, as if they did not properly clean patients or equipment. If you love your family member, do not send them here or to any Montcare facility.
