We did an engagement shoot with Josh which was a great way to get to know our personalities. My husband particularly liked the direction as he often feels a bit awkward in front of the camera. The wedding day was sunny which was blowing out some of the photos we wanted, but Josh took it in stride and found a beautiful place for photos in any case. Both Michael and Grace are responsive, relaxed, and incredibly flexible. For our engagement photos, neither my husband nor I knew what to expect. Michael came prepared with creative ideas that resulted in an awesome variety of fun, romantic, totally frame-worthy photos. My husband wasn't initially too thrilled about having engagement photos taken in the first place, but the fact that Michael was such a down-to-earth, cool person made a huge difference for us. Now for the wedding... I will just start by saying I am not the type of person who particularly enjoys getting my picture taken, but with Michael, I didn't even know I was being photographed. We didn't want an overabundance of canned/staged poses and pictures. We were more looking for him to be able to blend into the background, but still be able to produce high quality shots and capture the true feeling of the night. He COMPLETELY exceeded our expectations here! Since receiving our photos last week, I have directed all of my family and friends to our online album to relive our perfect day. It feels incredible to share photos I feel confident in that really illustrate how beautiful our day felt. Of all our wedding vendors, Michael is the best decision we made. I was also super grateful that my photographer was a cool, younger female with great taste, especially when she was photographing us getting ready. She was able to capture some great moments that an older, stodgier man wouldn't have. :) Especially if you're creative and a bit unconventional, Carly is definitely, definitely your best bet. My sister was so disappointed with all the photos and the experience she was in tears afterwards... in fact, I took her to Flemmings after to attempt to salvage our day, and the waiter was able to take a better picture of me and my sister in the poor restaurant lighting using my iPhone than this idiot girl and her fancy camera. Looks like they are able to get good photos of single children, but if you have more than 1 don't waste your money.
