What we found was far more than expected! This nursery is a hidden gem with an incredible selection of plants, trees, and garden goods--all at extremely reasonable prices. We've now been back three times, and each visit has been better than the last. Today we had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Nancy and Ed, and they are wonderful. Incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Their entire team is just as friendly and helpful. They even had a fantastic Father's Day special--25% off fruit trees and fruit plants--which made our visit even sweeter. Thanks to them, we found the perfect additions for our garden, and this place has officially become part of our Sunday routine whenever we're in town. They have a lot of great perennials in 2 inch cups for $2.00 which can't be beat...included lupines, various sedums, lavender, rosemary, etc. Their lettuce looked picture perfect. Friendly staff. Seasonal store and usually opens again around Christmas and sells trees, and these cute greenery gnomes. Prices are very reasonable. I really like the shade plant collection. Becky, the owner, is super nice and will help you put plants together or even help coordinate planters. If you are in the area, I highly suggest stopping in. And if you aren't, it's a nice road trip. Why am I writing this in the winter? I've been buying plants from Swallowtail since she opened up but more importantly, I am planning my gardens for my new house and have inquired as to types of plants they will have this year. Since our local in town was already sold out of vegetable starting plants at the second week of June i wish that I knew of this then. If you come here and cannot find what you are looking for then I think you will have a hard time finding. For example on hydrangea you will not only find 3-4 varieties but you will find 10 diff ones to choose from. It is incredible! There are a huge section of fruit trees as well . Plus you cannot find better prices anywhere. Staff are nice and will help you with any questions and will help you loading trees / plants to your vehicle. Just cannot beat this green center . And I have been to many being a plant / tree lover .
