I went on a photo shoot a couple of weeks after having my hair coloured here and the photographers adored my hair. The colourists are excellent, I've been having my hair professionally coloured for 12years and it has never been as long-lasting, vibrant and healthy looking as now. The cut is superb, creative but not bonkers. These guys actually cut my past shoulder length hair into a short bob, and even hubby (a lover of long hair and bob nay-sayer) loves it and doesn't want me to grow it back 'nuff said? The decor is rather lovely, it's a period building with period features here and there to keep your eye occupied whilst having your hair washed, and the coffees tasty. I'm not trying to reveal how old she is that would be mean, but I think she is a fab hairdresser, and she has worked really hard to get her own salon. The other hairdressers at The Ballroom are truely lovely girls and do a fabulous job; every time I go to the salon I always get top-class service, I get really good tips and the products they use are amazing. Jade was totally awesome - first of all she got my hair (fine hair, lacks body) and also my need to have natural looking color. I am so impressed with my cut and color. All my buddies in the US have told me what a great style this is for me (I went shorter at the back). It's also really easy to manage and the style/color looks great even after a month. Jade was great to chat to, very detailed with my cut and how she wanted it to look and the whole experience was very relaxing. I only wish Jade wasn't 5,000 miles away otherwise I'd be a regular.

STUDENTS BEWARE!!! Just witnessed the owner being very rude…read moreto a student. The student stated she had phoned up twice to confirm if she could use a £20 student voucher for a cut and blow dry. This was confirmed on both occasions. However when she was paying at the counter. The lady refused and said she couldn't use the voucher on Saturdays. (Even though there was no T&C's on the leaflet to confirm this). The salon owner came over and never listened to a word the customer was saying and said "That's how it is". He was very rude and patronising to the customer. Upon witnessing this conversation. House of Hair & Beauty have lost me as a loyal customer. I will not be returning to a salon that shows no respect for its customers!

I thought he would be the best hairdresser in there seeing as it's him shop. This was definitely NOT the case. First the appointment lasted just over 5 minutes. He very roughly and unevenly cut off about 10 inches of hair after telling me I wouldn't suit it. The bottoms are uneven and the whole thing was done very badly. My main problem with him was how violent he was. I have fine hair and he actually hurt me several times. He brushed down my hair in front of my face so roughly I was left with scrape marks all over my face. It was a horrible experience, whilst their prices are decent I most definitely will not be going back there. Think it's time he retired.
