Dr Riggs helped me tremendously with a complex evaluation needed for VA benefits. I highly recommend him if you need evaluation prognosis.

After a few years of trying to deal with the condescending attitude, comments, contradicting…read moreinformation and eye rolls, I finally tried to see if I could be prescribed the medicine my son NEEDS without all the added drama. The response: a certified letter telling me that Dr. Gabby "will no longer be able to serve as your son's physician". As relieved as I am that I won't have that issue in my life, I do feel it is wrong for a doctor to put a family in need into this position. Now to search and find a doctor that can prescribe for my son who is both in our location and takes our medical. Not every parent wants a miracle pill, some parents actually want to help their children learn to control their impulses and cope with the challenges they face. This has been a years-long learning experience and the more I learn the more I realized I needed more that what Dr. Gabby was offering: a pill. My suggestion: find a doctor who will treat the entire situation, not just slap a prescription on it. Someone who does more one-on-one with your child and helps them develop actual tools to help them through the struggle of living with ADHD. Once the trust has been lost, you can't really get it back. You've got to feel like your doctor has your family's best interest at heart and in this case, I certainly didn't.

Dr. Rimm has been my therapist for many years. I had several other therapists before I began…read moretreatment with him. But it has been his methods that have improved my life, helping me to understand and heal my trauma. He doesn't candy-coat things or necessarily "hold my hand." But he helps me to see myself for who I am (when I couldn't) and to see and build upon my strengths. He helped me to understand and overcome the family dynamics that propelled me to some seriously dark places. He is very community-driven, teaching that we can't get better by ourselves. I had to seek out others to support me, and he will bring those people into our sessions to help them help me. Or to show me my self-sabotaging patterns. He likes to let people know about his credentials, so they can build trust in him and his methods. Those methods provide him with a great capacity for understanding how my issues came to be through my family of origin and what I needed to do to overcome those issues. Some sessions are not easy, but I know he always has my best interests at heart. I know through his stories that he has healed many people like myself who have serious mental health issues that involve family systems and he heals through the context of the family and community. I am very grateful for the sometimes painful work but ultimately positive outcomes that I have sought for decades.
