The only plus side this place has is being right on the water in a calm area and free showers. I booked a spot for same day and the first email said that 2 email confirmations were needed. So I called to confirm since we were already on our way and was told we were all set. We arrived around 3:30 to the office that had not been cleaned in years to a man that had no memory of me calling them saying my reservation was not confirmed. When I showed him my call history and first email confirmation he said oh I remember now, I blew you off. As he finished my check in he received another call and out this customer on speaker, I thought the woman asked normal questions but as soon as she hung up he said "people call with the dumbest questions". lastly we were not given an exact spot but was just told to not go too far on either said cause of rain and that I will see "the idiots that don't listen". Find the worst review written for this place and multiply it by 10. That's how awful this campground is. BELIEVE ALL THE BAD REVIEWS!!!!! They aren't exaggerations. I was hesitant to write a review bc I have PTSD from the little time we were there. The mismanagement of our reservations leading up to the stay should have been our first sign to stay away. When we arrived, it looked disgusting and run down. We followed the gravel drive around to the back of the house where there was a hut that sat feet away from the back side of a house that had blankets covering the windows. We had to assume that was the "office" bc there were no clear signs stating it. There was firewood strewn all about. The whole campsite area appeared to be a gigantic disorganized mess... which it was. The campground is essentially some guy's backyard. My husband went in to the hut to register and pay. When he returned to the car he said there were beer cans all over the guys floor and the guy had no idea what he was talking about bc there were no full hook ups- which we were told several times when calling that there would be. We drove around the circle to the site we thought was the one he told us to go to bc none of the sites were clearly labeled. There appeared to be several campers placed on one "site". Basically, we did a lap around the loop, took one look at our "site", and pulled right back out. When asked if he could refund us since we weren't staying for fear of our health and safety, he said he couldn't refund our money bc he didn't know how. We were sold a bill of lies between the reservation phone call promises and the pictures on the website. There was no full hook up, there was no fire pit, there was no picnic table. The sites were a disheveled mess. I wish we would have read reviews about the place so this never would have happened. Truly- believe all the horrible reviews. This is the worst campground we have stayed at on our trek from Arizona. Plus, it was one of the most expensive. The only reason I'm giving it one star is because of the location right on Lake Huron. The bathrooms and showers were disgusting. Dirty and poorly maintained. It took us 3 tries to find a space that the electric worked and would fit our small 25 foot motorhome. Very disappointed in our experience at this campground. read more

This place gets no stars at all. First off we couldn't find anyone to check in . When we did they acted like it was a inconvenience to have us show up.Place was disgusting, Bathrooms were sickening thank goodness for our RV. No picnic tables, fire pits were filled with rocks and other garbage. No wifi, thank goodness we were only staying one night and we didn't get in till late evening around 7. To top it all off they had on the paper that we didn't notice right away that check out was 8 a.m. A hotel/motel dosen't even have that early check out. This campground was packed! If you have an RV/camper I wouldn't attempt this place because everyone was on top of each other. Our tent site was $50 per night but we needed a place to stay and everyone else was full. We took the last tent site. The host was kind and showed us to our spot and gave us a few pieces of free wood for the night. The views of the lake, island, and bridge were beautiful. We loved going to sleep with the sound of the waves. The bathroom was clean but smelled of mold/mildew, which made me concerned for health hazards. read more

In these amazing pictures of the office you can see the employees and owners of the establishment drinking on the job! We reserved a spot 2 months ago and as we showed up we were introduced to our campsite with absolutely no room for even one tent and no electricity even though we had marked we would like to have electricity. After we asked if anything could be done we were told maybe and prior to that we were met with disrespect. They refused to cooperate the entire time so we said, see ya! Extremely confusing and disorganized layout. Check-in took over 45 min. Very unkept, dirty and rundown grounds and facilities. We drove the 7 miles to town most of the time to use the MDOT rest area for a bathroom since it was actually clean. Tent sites do NOT have electric as is advertised. Water hookup was broken on the RV site and there was no picnic table provided either. Other picnic tables were broke and unusable. Sites are on top of each other. The tent sites are right at the water with a distant view of the bridge that is beautiful! The 1 star is because the lake is wonderful! read more

Location! Location! Location! If my picture does not tell you that you will be right on the shores of Lake Huron let my review do it for you! My 4 stars are mostly due to the location because the site itself is pretty basic. In my option site #9 is the best site in the place so request it if you can. The bathhouse is basic and older but has everything you would need. Like many campgrounds their website and check-in system is not the most up to date, but if you just want a place to listen to the waves as you go to sleep this is a good choice. They don't have any bells and whistles except they do rent kayaks but for us that was a plus because we were looking for something super simple and low key. They do sell firewood for a $1 a piece in increments of 5 and I will say it is some of the best hardwood I have bought so even though it is pricey it will last you! There are quite a few campgrounds in the area so you can find one that suites you but this one worked really well for us. Happy Camping! read more

This campground is filthy. The bathroom toilets. sinks, and showers are disgusting . Our campsite had dog poop on it when we are arrived. There was no Wifi like it advertised. The fire pits were too close to other campers. We could not hook up our water, due to the lever being broke off water hook up. Our site did not have a picnic table, and when we asked for one, we never received it. read more

For the price we paid, $60 for a tent site and $120 for a camper site for 2 nights, you'd think the place was spectacular!? The grass wasn't cut, the bathrooms were an absolute disaster and it stunk like a poop factory!! Get your stuff together before you have people pay that kind of money!! Upon arrival to the campground it was very confusing where to go. We were met by a friendly man who was the camp host. When we began to set up camp he visited our site and began to get very political and asserting his views about Qanon conspiracies. As we continued our camp experience we noticed that the campground was not a family friendly site and had no WiFi capability as stated on the website (since changed). The next morning we broke camp and proceeded to a much better family campground a few miles up the road. There was no attempt to refund our money and make good as a competent business owner. This place simply put was amateur and run by a jovial simpleton who has no problem alienating his customers with his political trolling. read more

First of all we were packed in like sardines. We were told ahead of time that they did not have internet, but verizon cell service was great..it was not! Very limited cell service. The trees need to be trimmed so as not to damage your RV. There isn't not a dump station that is easy to get into to dump your RV. This place is fine for tent camping & small campers. It is a beautiful location if you want to be off the grid. The management was very nice & helpful. I give 2 stars due to location. read more
