She is a retired, fully capable adult, just like anyone else there that owns a seasonal site. The exact second I ask, "Is it because she's a woman"?, his attitude changed. He became defensive & told us he was going to pass on the deal completely. So the Owner of the camper (ready & eager to sell), intended to be purchased, just lost out on an incredible deal. A campsite owner shouldn't be so one sided, misogynistic & need to know everyone's personal details to decide to judge someone from being a single woman. It's 2026, what a shame. Now everyone loses. :( No one wants to live anywhere for any period of time with that type of vibe.

Hot water aplenty in the 50c shower. Clubhouse has wifi and activities for kids and adult events, all rated G. Dogs ok. Christmas in July and Halloween on Labor Day are great children's days. Santa knows the location. John will always accommodate your needs and will try to make your stay easy. And when an error happens, he'll make it better than right. You can reserve ahead on busier weekends. Race weeks and Motorcycle week are lively. You need a place in the woods? Tent or vehicle? Need a cabin, a campfire? It's all there. Don't bring wood. John's got it covered. Location near Winni and Bristol. Plenty of restaurants, DD, Other necessary stores near. Call ahead. Tell them Tom sent you. They know their campers, and will give you space to enjoy your site.

Sun River Camp Ground - Barnstead NH…read more Was lucky to get a seasonal site this summer, right up next to the river. Folks there are friendly and always felt safe. Real community feel. The bath house is spotless. The camp grounds are very close to Alton Bay and Wolfeboro. Plenty to do and see. There is entertainment on the weekends. My wife and I are empty nesters so we wanted a place that was quiet and relaxing. My experience was just that. The owners Tom & Donna are wonderful, down to earth good people. Keep in mind this is not one of those RV resorts. Some sites don't have sewer hookup however, they will have someone to help you out with a dump cart. The 30A power was sufficient for all my needs. The 20A circuit was faulty when I first arrived. They sent someone out right away to fix it. It has everything you need to have a great stay. I have a 34' Airstream triaxle and had no issues getting into the site and leveled up. We had a great time and will certainly be back. Thanks Tom & Donna, you guys are rock stars!

This is my personal review of Sun River Campground 743…read moreSuncook Valley Rd Hwy 28 Center Barnstead, NH 03225 Pros- Cheap (buy you get what you pay for) Cons- Nightly rates are not all that cheap at $65/night with only water+electric. Office is never opened, and they don't answer the phones. The rec room (also part of the office) was redone last year to include a new TV and a bunch of old furniture. Would not be bad in a pinch if it were ever open. The front of the campground (where you first drive in) is very run down with old campers. These are all 2-way sites (water/electric only) but have seasonal campers. There are also rentals that are older campers. The electrical in this area is very poor and barely supplies enough to run a camper air conditioner. We would normally have to shut the AC off to run the coffee maker. The Back of the campground, where all the 3-ways sites, is party lane. It is called this because the campers party and play corn hole all night. Not a good situation for young family or older campers that like to sleep at a reasonable time. Bathhouse is very rustic and not always clean. There is a river that runs through the camp but is almost always dried up. There is a small playground near the one bathhouse. This is the only entertainment for children. There is no laundry facilities, pool, or any other means to keep from extreme boredom. In addition, there are a number of homeless people living in the camp ground all year long (yes even in the winter with no running water). Some of these folks have questionable background which forced many of the seasonal campers to installed security cameras on their sites for protection. This was the breaking point for us. It was unacceptable that we had to install our own camera to watch over our belongings while we're not there. When we brought our concerns to the owners they simply blamed each other (the owners and workers there) and didn't do anything to help secure the campground. They actually harassed my wife and I just for bringing our concerns to them. We started seeing RV's and cars broken into and things stolen around the campground. This is why we left Sun River Campground and I DO NOT RECOMMEND this campground to anyone, seasonal or transient. It's not worth the worrying about your stuff being stolen or vandalized. There are many other very nice Camps in the area. Keep looking and Good luck.

Recently camped here over the long labor day weekend, along with a large group. The people here…read moreare great! They were quite flexible given the size of our group and the fact we had several people arriving later in the weekend. They were very understanding about the situation and everone was able to have a great time. The lake itself is fairly small, and an hour should be sufficient to kayak or canoe around. The swimming area is clear and sloped well, and doesn't get too deep. The camp sites are spacious, but there is a 5 person limit per site. There's a firepit at every site, but arent well suited for any kind of cooking, so you may want to bring a grill. There arent too many bugs either...but bring some spray just in case. There are a lot of other activities here too, like pool tables, a small arcade, a volleyball net and a large field for frisbee/football/soccer. The even had bingo and wagon rides. This is a nice weekend getaway camping trip for anyone in New England.

They are constantly making improvements like adding wifi throughout, adding activities, etc. We rented a camper for the week. It had full hookups, cable TV, appliances, cookware, a deck and more. The rental was clean, if we needed anything it was supplied. Our stay was excellent. Our family has rented this before as well as stay at the inn. Family has been coming here for decades but it hasn't been run as well since now. All sites for campers and tents are well sized, good shade and most have full hookups. They offer lots of family activities and makes it great for families. But with no kids it is still great, quiet and enjoyable. There is beach access and the lake is crystal clear. It is the smallest of the 7 lakes but that makes it even more peaceful. You can here the loons everyday. So if you used to come but stopped because of the old owners, come back. And first timers you will love it!

Brian gave us a good thorough walk through explaining everything we needed to know about the operation of everything - heating, fridge, stovetop, slider, beds, toilet, shower, connecting up to our vehicle, etc. He connected the camper to our truck (mechanically and electrically) and filled the water tank for us. During our trip, Brian was accessible and very responsive to any questions we had as newbies. We had a great experience using the camper - everything worked perfectly. We will definitely be repeat customers - it was a great pleasure to enjoy both an excellent product and excellent service !!

The sites were well spaced with some shrubs and ground cover providing a nice barrier. It was quite and peaceful. The rest rooms and shower house were clean. There are garbage cans at each site which are emptied regularly. Best of all Warren was friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The laundry room, bathrooms, showers were all really clean and functioning. There were big wood fire rings with backings to help the fire, and wood sold on site. The place was dark and quiet at night, respectful neighbors, and even the resident owl quieted down in the woods behind us. I would go here again.
