I landed in this office during the pandemic with an emergency and had an excellent experience with…read moreDr. Sermiento and his assistant. I have found the people in the office pleasant and kind, but, unfortunately the office itself is not run with the patient's best interest in mind. When it comes to maintenance they seem to have a truly unpleasant approach in which I had to fight to have my needs met after a long delay due to the pandemic halt to such services, and had to protest a gross overcharge. Three different technicians performed maintenance; one to deep clean/plane 4 teeth, one to polish and one to scrape and deal with plaque -- in that order. None discussed the state of my teeth, evaluated my home management or offered suggestions. The dental exam precedes this, no follow up. I tried to ask #3 for comment but she was angry and rough from the start and turned her head away. Because of her harshness, I dared not complain that her face mask was below her nose, but I did afterward for her own sake; she just walked away. Of course this put me at risk. By the way, this 3-step routine was spread over 2 days, 3 weeks apart, for no apparent reason. I successfully argued for some reduction in price, although the adjusted sum is not discounted as it should be in the "plan" that we buy into. (I google searched what standard prices should be.) I also stipulated that I would not pay the $10 fee for the second visit. If I were not retired I would not have time for all this. My only explanation for their terrible approach to maintenance is that it has nothing to do with the needs of the patient and everything to do with deceptive playing with numbers and perhaps with their employees in this department. Why else so disgruntled? It is not the place of the office manager to evaluate our teeth (which happened during my complaint). That is the job of technicians and dentists, whether cost efficient or not. There was one excellent dental technician at the Bright Now on Wickham, so there is no reason this office can't follow their model. If they don't change, I'm done with them.

Smile Today Dentistry - Palm Bay, FL…read more This is a warning. Last January I had two deep gum cleanings (split by insurance). I paid $564 for one and $712 the following week. In April I returned and paid another $336. After that, the office scheduled me for a routine cleaning and told me it was covered. The day of the appointment, I was told my balance was $0. Months later, I'm informed that insurance did not cover that cleaning. Let's be clear: the office schedules the appointments. The office verifies insurance. The office deals with insurance companies daily. If there was any possibility that a December maintenance cleaning would not be covered -- especially after I had already paid substantial amounts out of pocket -- it was their responsibility to inform me in advance. Patients deserve informed consent not only for procedures, but for financial responsibility. Had I known there was a chance it wouldn't be covered, I would have asked the cost and decided whether to proceed or postpone. That option was never given to me. On top of that, my husband was referred by this dentist to a specialist nearly two hours away. That provider charged him over $450 for a 15-20 minute conversation without performing any examination, imaging, or treatment. That experience already left a bad taste. Now this billing situation confirms a pattern of poor professional judgment. Today I was told that I should have checked my insurance myself. That response is unacceptable. Insurance coordination is part of what a dental office does every single day. Transparency is part of ethical practice. I paid the $141.16 balance. I cancelled my future appointment. We will not be returning. Maybe others have had better experiences. We did not. This is the difference between excellent service and mediocre service. Consider this your notice. No volveremos. Quizás otros tengan una experiencia diferente. La nuestra fue esta. Quedan advertidos.

I scheduled an appointment and later rescheduled it in compliance with your stated procedures…read more Despite this, I was placed on standby for 8:00 a.m. and, solely because I was unable to attend at that time, I was denied any further appointment. This action was unreasonable, arbitrary, and inconsistent with acceptable professional standards. Additionally, the behavior of the staff was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. At no point was I treated with the respect owed to a paying patient.

I am finally writing a review because I got a bill in the mail for $73.00 this April from River…read moreBreeze even though I switched dentists back in September, replied to a text that I no longer go there, and paid the full amount of whatever I owed them every time I visited. They never once said I had anything else to pay them. I am fed up and will write a fitting review of this place. At first it started off mostly really good. The front desk ladies were nice and the office was clean. There are a couple of assistants and hygienists who were so, so lovely and really seemed to be confident in what they were doing (I forgot their names, unfortunately.) I had several things done with them and all was well (this was last summer and I forgot what, but I know it included a cleaning and full examination and the stuff below.) But then for one of my fillings and crown, another assistant came in and out loud acted like she did not know what she was doing almost the entire time. They said to each other that they did not have one supply they needed in the whole office for me, too, which is never comforting to hear. They were asking others in the office and everyone said they ran out. I sat in the chair for quite a while as she kept having to redo things because she messed up. Even another assistant who was also helping was a little annoyed. She could not smooth down the crown in the right spots to feel right. It was taking a much longer time than anticipated, and eventually they just gave up and kept saying I was not feeling anything right because it was still numb and in my head. I am not exaggerating when I say that the one annoyed assistant told me at least five times that it is all just because I am numb and I was fine. Well...three weeks go by and that tooth had been increasingly aching every day. Turns out they did not smooth it down well enough, causing significant issues, and they did not get all of the cavity or came too close to a nerve so I needed a root canal and a crown. So much money. After that you might think I would try another place but I gave them grace. I kindly asked for a different assistant than the one I had before. I came in to get a filling done, but the doctor could not numb me. I had at least 14 needles put in (three rounds with maybe some extra I don't know). Again, I am not trying to exaggerate. I felt so awful because of the pain and fear and I did not want them to feel terrible. I was crying and shaking because they kept trying to drill but it kept hurting. Eventually, I said I have to be done, so just fill what you can and I will try something else. It was Dr. Mao who did it. She was so nice and sweet and overall I really liked her....she just could not numb me. I know that some patients are just hard to numb, but I have had that exact area numbed perfectly by my dentist in Lakeland and now at Dental Care of West Melbourne. Anyway, I went to get checked out, and the front desk lady who knew nothing of what I went through said something about how it is normal to not feel great and I would be fine. I should just use some ice and I would be okay. Also, I will just quickly mention that I was in the waiting room for over 20 minutes (I had an 8:00 am appointment) and was left alone every ten minutes or so when I finally got in the seat. Took forever. I agree with the other people that it costed a lot of money. And the front desk lady would ask me to pay and then recalculate the numbers and say something different. Felt just little strange, especially after reading similar experiences. That was a lot, but I do not recommend!!
